- Sailboat Tour & Review of the DUFOUR 460 GL
We do something a little bit different for us today on our channel: we tour and review the 2019 Dufour 460 GL that we chartered in the BVI's. We take you through the running rigging, exterior features, and interior accommodations. Without going into exhaustive detail, we hit the high points and the low-lights of this particular model. We hope this information will be helpful to anyone who may be considering buying a new/used sailboat, when considering some of the features and functions you'll want/need in your new-to-you boat.
We fly off to the British Virgin Islands to Charter a Sailboat, Josh is hired to Captain the vessel for a group of new-to-sailing keeners, show them the ropes, expedite a training program based on ASA training syllabus, plus a wealth of knowledge obtained over his lifetime of sailing. Of course, the constraints of time and editing will see some gaps from the viewers perspective as to several aspects of the training, but we try to share some highlights...and there is no shortage of drama to unfold during this mini-series of our time sailing in the BVI's!

Thank you!
You’re welcome!
80 hrs, so you all are the shakedown crew ! That does not sound too far out for a new boat. Except for the prop fiasco, that was a pretty embarrassing deal for a new boat. Great days and fair winds !
I think we were just the lucky number after too many amateurish crews abused this thing. The dead batteries upon the start of our charter was the dead-giveaway of things to come!
OK, obviously something I am not getting... to me 80 hrs is just over three days, Cannot see a charter being less than what say four hours ? Can it really get so thrashed in 20 trips ? If so the live aboard life where you take tourists out for cruises would look awfully tempting : ]
@@TheCanadianBubba I'd figure that most people chartering would maybe motor for up to 3 hours a day, and then maybe run the engine a couple hours a day at anchor to charge batteries; so, for argument sake, we'll say 5 hours a day. That would be about 17 days of charter. We were likely only the 3rd group to take the boat out. All of those issues are inexcusable in such a new production boat!
With only fear and good judgement holding us back, we sailed out on a shining sea...
With a boatload of crazy people, including my shotgun and me !
5 minutes in and already 3 mid roll ads, that must be a mistake
Oh sweet! Maybe this will be the video to make us rich 😂
That’s it 🥳
How many subs do you guys have? It doesn’t say on you channel page. Hope y’all having fun👍
Nixon yeah I don’t understand how UA-cam decides to run ads. I wonder if our channel would be received better with no ads running, or how youtube promotes videos that they can advertise well on. Overall, we have few videos (less than 50%) that are eligible for ads, and I suspect that has hurt our overall channel performance, since “what’s in it for youtube?” To push our channel? We only have about 3200 subs. It doesn’t make any sense.
