Forget me not was very sad because through all of that, he fought in like every major battle and was the main reason the xmen were able to win but no one ever acknowledged him except for xavier and his mental alarm clocks for him.
I'm sure for some meta reason, it wouldn't work. Like, say Scott (Cyclops) follows him after meeting him. FMN posts up he wants to play poker. Scott gets the alert, reads it, then forgets he read it, and the message is left on read. FMN shows up to play poker, and Scott has no idea who he is, and was in the middle of another dick-waving contest with Logan over Jean Grey, and Jean got fed up with their homoerotic bickering, and already left, depriving FMN of the one mutant that might correct Scott the right/sane way.
Ain’t no way people think that Forgetmenot’s powers aren’t good😂 he doesn’t stop existing, his powers literally make him imperceptible. This means that if you do not see him, you forget he’s there. He would be one of the best assassin/spy in the whole world. Other mutants with telepathy can barely perceive him when they can’t see him.
There's also a kid who can explode...but he's not immune to his own explosion and he has no healing so its really just a one time self destruct. Arguably the worst power but since he never has to use it he can just be a normal kid
I believe it was a girl? and they were only partly immune. They blow themselves to bits eventually while Northstar is trying to carry them to the school where they may be able to suppress their powers. But it's too late and eventually they just blow the hell up.

Jay's story is dumb. Professor X could have either taught him to control his powers or turned them off long enough to be useful. He's a walking nuclear reactor. He could power the world just by existing if they made a nuclear reactor based around him.
That's the whole point. His mutant ability is essentially untrainable he's a walking nuke and only those with fast healing factors can actually get near him, Not to mention his existence is a PR nightmare and can make mutants look bad cuz he killed a whole town

They actually created a device that allowed Forget Me Not to be remembered, unfortunately the devices his team was wearing were destroyed as he sacrificed himself to save them…so no one knows to put him in resurrection protocol, nor does anyone remember his sacrifice.
The last one was murdered to cover the whole thing by saying it was a leak of some sort that caused it because otherwise the public opinion would have attacked mutants once again even harder.
To be fair he was also untrainable since only Wolverine or Deadpool could realistically get close to him, and they don’t know Jack about training his powers, they didn’t have the time to even if they did, and there’s no moving him, he effectively wiped out his town when he walked to school, there was only one way to stop the radiation, he had to join everyone he accidentally killed, and the whole affair had to be buried
The Jay one is one of my favorite comics ever. Wolverine, the panels, the dialogues it’s rips your heart out so beautiful. You could tell Wolverine’s heart went out to the kid before he was forced to murk him
Wolverine gave him a beer. They had a conversation mourning how jay just rolled poorly on the wheel of life and quote “one gene to the left and he might have been on the X-men”. Jay ultimately accepts his death and wolverine makes it quick.
Ah, I wondered how his powers could work on Juggernaut when they worked togather on Krakoa. It's npt telepathy, he actually stops existing and any shared history disapears too.

@@anthonygodfrey8982 he is forgotten, and every trace of his existance is erased: he can mess up security camera footage, leave memory blanks on people etc. But his actions are still noticeable: if he eats something, for example, people will perceive that the food was eaten by someone These side effects help people sort of acknowledge his existence
I feel like it should be a rule in future appearances of mutant powers that their mutation can only have a net positive abilities, as it’s not like these are regular mutations, they’re a modification from the celestials, so you’d expect all of them to be good.
Birds have hollow bones so it doesn't weigh them down and allows them to fly. Their bones are so hollow that they can legitimately die just from running into a window too fast. So this guy isn't only disfigured but could actually get seriously injured if he tripped while running (if he can even run without pain)
Don't forget Matthew Malloy, a mutant so dangerously destructive that Xavier and Tempus had to go back in time to prevent his parents from ever meeting.
Beak has a normal life tho. His abilities are next to none. He can stay home while his wife works. A father growing up the kids is a thing now. There's no shame in that.
Never understood why when it came to the kid, how come they didn't just quarantine him somewhere. Its only a mile radius. All these super geniuses on the planet and the plan is simply, kill him? Idk, I guess you could say they were worried if they did, he may lose it and break out, and somehow get to people or something.
If I remember correctly it wasn’t just because he was too dangerous but also the fact that his existence is a pr nightmare. If people knew that a random kid could accidentally annihilate his whole town at any moment then anti mutant legislation would be passed very easily
Prof X sent Wolverine to get rid of him and blame it all on a gas leak because it would look bad for mutants if it came out that he randomly killed people just by existing.
@@HarmonyOC Probably. But the issue is that he didn't want the world to find out that it was a mutant that killed those people. If he took the kid in and tried to help, then others might find out what happened. He figured it was better to get rid of him and blame a mundane excuse on the deaths.

I think being born a literal walking nuclear bomb kind of tops a lot of these sad origin stories in levels of tragedy.
Beak may not have much with his mutation, but he still was integral to the Exiles storyline, saving the multiverse from a rageholic Sentry.
He ended up evolving into a jacked hawk i think.
That was his grandson
Did you forget Beak’s other mutant ability of being really likeable?
You forgot legion professors X son. He can give himself any power but every power he gives himself comes with an alternate personality. He can't control them and they can be violent so he ends up practically labotamized in order to not kill anyone.

Forget Me not reminds me of that TTG episode in which TAS Robin is constantly forgotten by Batman (played again by Kevin Conroy)
Power : Depression
thats spidermans power at this point
Wolverine and Jay spent the night in a cave together, and as Jay woke up, Wolverine was gone.
Forget me not was very sad because through all of that, he fought in like every major battle and was the main reason the xmen were able to win but no one ever acknowledged him except for xavier and his mental alarm clocks for him.
I feel like having a social media account completely circumvents the downside to Forgetmenot’s powers.
I'm sure for some meta reason, it wouldn't work. Like, say Scott (Cyclops) follows him after meeting him. FMN posts up he wants to play poker. Scott gets the alert, reads it, then forgets he read it, and the message is left on read. FMN shows up to play poker, and Scott has no idea who he is, and was in the middle of another dick-waving contest with Logan over Jean Grey, and Jean got fed up with their homoerotic bickering, and already left, depriving FMN of the one mutant that might correct Scott the right/sane way.
he could always wear a cardboard box, would people forget him if they can´t see him at all?
When Spider-Man writers try their chances at X-men
Most of these are from Grant Morrison. So.
Yeah. New Xmen was one heck of a time for the comics.
Forgetmenot is the living embodiment of Schrodinger's Cat...

Funny that the kid with the punisher t-shirt has a power that kills everyone in sight
Forget me not is sad as hell but he also has come to terms with it
He’s saved the world more times then any other x man
I remember he also helped a girl out when she ran to the school cause something really bad happened to her
Ain’t no way people think that Forgetmenot’s powers aren’t good😂 he doesn’t stop existing, his powers literally make him imperceptible. This means that if you do not see him, you forget he’s there. He would be one of the best assassin/spy in the whole world. Other mutants with telepathy can barely perceive him when they can’t see him.
That guy would be useful in getting secret information from other villains without them knowing him. Also espionage and more.
yeah but whoever recruits him forgets him right away
There's also a kid who can explode...but he's not immune to his own explosion and he has no healing so its really just a one time self destruct. Arguably the worst power but since he never has to use it he can just be a normal kid
He did he know about it?
I believe it was a girl? and they were only partly immune. They blow themselves to bits eventually while Northstar is trying to carry them to the school where they may be able to suppress their powers. But it's too late and eventually they just blow the hell up.
Beak was a late bloomer. Eventually, he grows into a full hawk-man and looks rad.
Imagine how sad it is, knowing that if you die, nobody would even know that you were gone

@@3adgamd3r I am not saying they did a bad choice. I am just saying it really sucks for the guy to have gotten such an ill fated power.

Bro, he got it way worse than plain old disfigurement.
Yeah that one power is exactly like the silence from doctor who. Easily defeated by leaving an image of him in your view. In doctor who this was achieved via an eyepatch that put an image of the creatures into the brain of whoever was wearing the eye patch.
Does forget me not cease to exist when people aren't looking at him or is he still their but people just forget he existed? If its the former how does he come back into existence ?
I want to know this too like what happens exactly when people take their eyes off him?
He is still there, but just forgotten. Professor X has even set up a psychic reminder so he acknowledges Forget Me Not once an hour
@@anthonygodfrey8982 he is forgotten, and every trace of his existance is erased: he can mess up security camera footage, leave memory blanks on people etc.
But his actions are still noticeable: if he eats something, for example, people will perceive that the food was eaten by someone
These side effects help people sort of acknowledge his existence
@David_LG092 ohh okay, so when they do notice him, do all the memories of his existence come back, or are they lost forever?
@@daniellavaly3463 they´re lost forever, basically if you meet him, turn around, and look at him again that meeting never happened to you
I wish the xmen movies actually cast more mutants like these so that we could understand why so many mutants wanted to cure their genes.
"Honey i'm pregnant"
Wolverine: "yeah"
What power did he have?
Beak has a normal life tho. His abilities are next to none. He can stay home while his wife works. A father growing up the kids is a thing now. There's no shame in that.
