It's absolutely criminal for smartphones with flagship-grade SoCs like this one still use USB-C 2.0. This can easily be a worthy cheaper alternative to Xiaomi 14 Pro.
It's why I question the existence of "T" series. This is more powerful than the Xiaomi 14. Why keep making this artificial distinction for a "cheaper" phone that isn't cheap?
Funyy thing in my country, you can import the 14 Pro cheaper than the 14T pro. The caviat is that the 14 pro is on Chinese rom but I bought my xiaomi 14 for 620bucks with china rom too and everything works well. All google apps work too 😂 kinda regretting not going with 14 pro tbh
@@SomeGadgetGuy I totally get your point. Xiaomi could have followed OnePlus way by making the T-series an upgraded version of the original release. After all, Xiaomi do launch a Lite (or Civi) version of the Mi lineup.
It's amazing how we've come pretty far in mobile technology where we can edit our videos on our phones, not to the high workflow as After Effects on PC of course but it gets the job done for simple video editing.
I love this "outsider" brand phone review, allows me to see how big the progress is in this brands that we (I) don't check as often. That said, I still can't decide if I will choose a Oneplus 12 or a Note23 as I love the specs and price on the OP but also love design, features and software on the Note. My goal is to use my phone as camera for content creation. Any help? Thx in advance to all.
In the UK Xiaomi are throwing in the £600 Pad 6s Pro free with the 1TB version of this phone (£800). After a 10% discount voucher, the two devices cost a mere £720. It's a no brainer.
Might be due to poor sales of their pad 6s pro. I own one, not completely happy tbh, their os sucks on this device. Almost forgotten. Buggy and sluggish. Slows sales might also be the reason they no longer give a sht with its software. Very strong hardware, let down by it software.
honestly, the innovation could have been faster if iphone wasn't so damn greedy. it appears that the big tech reviewers have a lot of influence that what ever they say on their channel about what they love about the iPhone and what they want to see in android, everyone follows suit. look at all the phones pacing themselves like apple not upgrading infact some would say downgrading, squeezing every last buck out of there customers.
For someone that not taking pictures so much but appreciate fast phone, charging speed, and good screen and camera. Coming from the xiaomi 11t pro that I had for 2+ years, replacing because of the battery drain and and the performance started to nag Xiaomi 14t pro 12/512 with 120w charger - 765$ Oneplus 12R 12/256 with 100w charger - 660$ Or, s23 ultra 12/256 with 45w charger - 880$ In my region Which one to buy?
I LOVED PowerDirector, but then they switched to a subscription, and then the app got a LOT buggier, and I had to leave. Ditto kinemaster. If you like those style apps, I think the "pay for it once and never again" model for Luma is a LOT better.
Naw. You dont have to worry about that. It's about having some fun and making something for yourself. Using something like PD, you're already ahead of the curve.
the last T series phone that I use was the 11T Pro, would like to use a T series again but for most of the game that I play, Dimensity have that micro stuttering that's just too distracting for me, no such issue on a snapdragon device. Experienced it first hand on the 12T and 13T Pro. Right now I'm using the F6 because for the price, it's just a very good value for gamer and I don't really use the camera.
My phone has 45w charging not so fast! But after 1 year it's still the same like 1 day one battery! 120w wired charging is excellent! It won't destroy battery health since my brother uses one and his battery health/life is Holding up great!
Mine is 120watt. I'm from asia btw. Too fast. Charge, take a bath, go out of the shower. Full battery. I don't think i can live without 120watt charging now. And I don't feel any slowdown or signs of a bad battery. It has been 2 years.
This one was surprising me, as it's nearly competitive with the 14. Like, why make such a specific distinction between these lines when the differences are smaller and smaller?
Yeah the camera on this 14T is almost at the level of Xiaomi mainline series. At this point either the 15 needs to jump higher in camera, or the 15T needs to make some compromises.

Well this one is great at Night Photography, so if you're interested in that then you can switch to the 14TP. We don't know what the speciality for the 15TP will be
While I'm a general tech enthusiast, Chinese Smartphones possibly not providing me consistent network coverage on ATT is a huge concern. Saw it personally when a close friend of mine had a Samsung FE model (forget which one), but it was rendered useless when they stopped supporting 4G, on top of the fact that when he was in a spotty coverage area, the phone was barely useful then. I like to watch the reviews of these phones, but I wouldn't pull the trigger on buying one until carriers pick them up here in the states
I have the xiaomi 14 now and I can say its cameras are better compared to s24/s24plus. Personally tried both of them. Yes this is not the 14t pro but I think they share the same main sensor, Light fusion 900 and with same camera software by Xiaomi.
My country sell the international Mi 14 Ultra for the first time. Premium phones here are dominated by SamApple so I got really excited for something new. Bought the 14 Ultranon launch day and loved it ever since. That camera is truly a differentiated feature compare to regular "social media" processed phones. I wished they sent you the 14 Ultra, not much different from the 13 Ultra but for me a first time user of the Ultra name. Very impressive 😂
Yes. I have experience with T series, still prowd owner of 12T pro, T series are basically a flagship in the midrange price tag. I'll wait till 16T will be in the market, for now, 12T pro is awesome machine.
not really, USB 2.0 from the year 2001, no ultrasonic fingerprint reader , no LTPO,....over all a 400$ phone. and they try to get for thsi 800$?? mediatek is good but thats all what this phone brings.....pure fail this phone
My last phone was a Mi 10T. After 3 years, it succumbed to the deadboot issues that plagued some ( maybe a lot? idk) 10Ts and 10T Pros. i want to give this lineup another chance but i can't lose the feeling it might happen again , specially if the phone reaches 2 years onwards upon purchase; where majority of deadboots happen.
My older phone, a Huawei Nova 2i, is still alive and kicking.. i use it like my main phone. , even though it's already super old to me, it never had issues with the motherboard.
Oh yeah. We here in North America really lost a good competitor when we lost Huawei/Honor. My ORIGINAL Nova is still kicking, and could still be a decent phone today.

Personally, I usually think now Xiaomi's T series are basically "mimicking" their higher-end models at a significant price cut (region wise though, rip NA/EU prices). What draws me personally to this lineup was basically the price point~ Half a decade ago, I was often excited to see Xiaomi's T models as they somewhat incoporate new innovative tech in the industry and kept up with trend designs of its era. The more years passed, it was interesting to see how far they can push the envelope to incorporate somewhat new hardware and software at affordable pricepoints. However, we would usually class them as "top mid-ranger / flagship killer" trope due to build quality and software experience. Weirdly, I can see them getting to the point of halt as they're in a similar position to Oneplus a few year ago imo.
LOL! Give me an XPERIA with a newer ESS DAC, and get Google to FINALLY deliver a better desktop mode, but switch to a 1" type main sensor with 1/2.55" companion sensors, and yeah... Pretty much 😄
T series is always for those who can wait for the technology to be cheaper and slightly inferior specs to the non T series without compromising the main core features & overall experience.. next year T series for sure will come with LTPO...

I cant really care what a "square with circles in it" looks like if the photos and videos are great. I look at my photos WAY more than I look at the back of a phone...
There's a lot of "integration" I think is annoying. Not EXACTLY an ad, but open the gallery and "NOW YOU CAN SYNC WITH GOOGLE PHOTOS!!!", but I don't want to do that. I don't bother with Xiaomi game app or services like that. Those are a bit easier to avoid.
Its new, so bound to have issues. They're targeting the US market so they are making it similar to iOS. Once they get a decent hold of the market, they'll begin to change it back to their own style

That's the worst part of looking at phones globally. I wouldn't choose ANY brands in North America as a content creation phone.

Depends on what you need/want? The main camera sensor is definitely an upgrade over the S23. Does REALLY well against the Note 23.
