Rahuram so nice for showing us best place of IIT Bombay. Gulmohar earlier ( 1964 ) was a children's park . This is where I had experienced first swing , see - saw and slide. My father was working for IIT from 1958 onwards . We saw deer , fox , peacocks , Rabbits around Hostel 1 . Hostel 1 was our first Hospital ( ground floor ) I got my first injection shot at H 1 . We enjoyed mood indigo festival during our school days . 1976 was the best Mood Indigo . Sitaram was incharge of Mood Indigo that year . Nandu Bhende , Atomic Forest , Ebony these bands were there . Nasruddin shah did some one man show act at Lecture Theater . Last day was RD Burman, Asha Bhosle music show at Gymkhana. oh should have seen the crowd . It was madness . H - 5 one student nick named Ouch( Mechanical Eng) had his own band ,H5 lawns was a heaven for rock music lovers . IIT Bombay is beauty . Thanks for your South Indian accent , I like that . Brilliant efforts.. Will meet you some day . I am 64 years of age .

Thanks Anush , Mood Indigo festival was always at IIT Gymkhana before SAC was constructed. The stage was set up near flag post stage. There was this famous band called Atomic Forest .. Nandu Bhende was the lead singer , perhaps he was from St Xavier's college - Bombay. You should have see the crowd . It almost touched Hostel 1 and NCC office opp H2 ( sadly it was demolished). My guess is the crowd would be around 30, 000 in and out . If you have seen Woodstock movie you will know how difficult it was to control the crowd ,it was total madness . The show got over at 4.30 am. I sometimes visit IIT Gymkhana to refresh my school time memories of mid 1970 's . Thanks again for your kind words .,@@anushtiwari7102
