Oh my gosh I have to make this it looks delightful thanks for sharing 👍🏾
I've got all of the ingredients except the buttermilk. I'd use filmjölk (sour milk), but I haven't got any of that either. I don't know what my neighbour would say if I asked to borrow a cup. 😂
Promise them some Apple and Cinnamon scones and make two. You can make buttermilk with milk and lemon juice or Vinegar Karin :) ua-cam.com/users/shortsxdERjkPJnlY
I dont have selfraising flour so I want to make my own with baking powder and salt. Do you think I should omit the salt in the self raising flour? based on the internet it would be 1 cup flour 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp fine salt. I am afraid it could be too much salt in total.
Hi Nura yes leave the salt out it's not that important - I would go with the 1 1/2 tsps of baking powder for a cup of plain flour. Some scone recipes there's no salt in them so don't worry about it.
@@ScrummyTV thank you so much! Will do them tonight cause they look truly amazing!
What if I skip the buttermilk, is it a big deal?
Buttermilk is easy to make if you don't have any Mary - here is a quick tutorial using lemon juice ua-cam.com/users/shortsxdERjkPJnlY . You can use milk either but you won't need as much as the buttermilk quantity listed just add a little at a time until you get a sticky dough. You can make buttermilk with milk and some plain yogurt too x
I'm vegan so I'd rather not use any milk at all, unless it's almond milk?@@ScrummyTV
Try almond milk just add a little at a time to get the dought together you don't want it very sticky x
If there's anything you want us to make then please leave a comment. Thanks! :-)
