    There is a trick to cutting acrylic. Line both sides of the cut with clear packing tape and cut through the tape as you are cutting through the acrylic and it won't crack.

    Really appreciate your work.
    But there is a tiny mistake, 555timer oscillator uses RC network which can't output a stable oscillation of exactly one hertz, it may be slowed down or become faster a little bit depending on air moisture, temperature of the surrounding. Then your clock will lead or lag over time. So my method of getting a second pulse generator in a cheapest way is to use the circuit of a wall clock ,it uses crystal which is very precise and accurate. Then it's ok

    • @Neutrino1
      @Neutrino1  4 роки тому +1

      Yes yes! I agree too, this is just for making the circuit simpler and even in the video i suggested to use a different oscillator circuit.

    I need some troubleshooting, and need a more permanent power source, but otherwise I completed the work.
    I used a 32768khz crystal and 4060 ICs to get 1hz pulse.
    But otherwise followed this tutorial exactly.
    I wanted to be an engineer, but couldn't because of parental pressure, but guess what? I don't need to be an engineer to enjoy these things...

    probably is late but for cuttin the acrylic you can use an utility blde and a strong ruler can be metallic or otherwise metal is better
    sonyou place the ruler over the acrylic piece you need to prevent scratch and do multiple pass with the blade in both sides once its marked you can break it like glass no need to cut it all the way
    also with a 4060 and a piezoleectric resonator could be more precise than a 555 duento the fact the 555 relies on resistors and capacitors that have high tolerances

    • @Neutrino1

      yeah sure!
      Have a switch for the clock input of seconds IC, then the circuit will pause/stop if clock signal is interrupted and take all the reset pin from every 4026IC and connect through switch to +vcc, when the switch is pressed the whole clock will reset. Thus making the circuit a functional stop watch. Also by playing with the clock frequency you can adjust the accuracy of the circuit.

      There is a mistake in his AND gate connected to the Hours-Tens digit. In reality, you need 2 AND gates (or one 6 input) that tests both digits of the hours for "2 5", and RST then. There are other mistakes in the circuit diagram as well.

      I had the same problem when I built this circuit. Unfortunately for me, I designed this circuit onto a pcb and ordered a few of them. Looks like I have to scrap them all and start over. I should have double checked his schematic before making it. Oh well.

      inverta a lógica. originalmente é 0 a 9, então não podemos usar o mesmo IC, e temos que construir a lógica por conta própria, usando um microcontoller programável
