Very true, my first couple of years as a reading tutor were spent in the classroom (1st & 2nd combined). Then the school had me start literacy interventions in one-on-one or small group settings for the most struggling students in several grades (K-6). At first I was a little upset, I didn't want to leave the classroom, but ended up absolutely loving the interventions.
I am going to be moving from third grade to kindergarten. This will be my third year teaching. I have felt many feelings! I’ve been overwhelmed, excited, sad, and anxious. I’m trying to focus on the positive feelings and this video helped me a lot!
I moved to GA from SC where I had been teaching ESL K-8 for three years and I went to 4th grade. I hated it. Three years later I was moved from 4th grade to PreK and I absolutely loved it! I was always “little people” friendly so this was a great shift for me. This year I am changing schools AND grade levels. I’m going to teach kindergarten which is a step up from PreK. Although this is year 27 for me, it has been Decades since I taught kindergarten and it has changed significantly so I’m still a little anxious. Preplanning begins Monday…🤞🏽but I will be working with a great team! I have lots of stuff to give away after teaching multiple grade levels and no place for them to go! #thestruggleisreal
The last three years I've taught 1st & 2nd grade ELA. This year I'll be teaching 1st grade self-contained and my reading brain is so not ready to teach math again! I know it'll be a great year and I'll adjust as soon as I'm back in the teaching routine, but it is definitely overwhelming.
I am a new teacher who taught 3k last year. This year, I am doing Pre-K, and it’s going to be ICT with a special Ed co-teacher and two paraprofessionals. It’s definitely going to be a lot to learn. I’m glad that it’s in my first years since I am in a pre-K center. Thanks for this video!
Excellent video
