@@R14iify - Good question. AIPAC primarily works at the federal level, as they're focused on influencing U.S. foreign policy. I am running for state office, which focuses on state issues like health care, labor protections, and infrastructure. Thus, I have no interaction with AIPAC. As for money in politics, like most Democrats and Americans, I oppose the Citizens United ruling that gives wealthy corporations an outsized influence on politicians, drowning out the voices of ordinary Americans.

I really wish it was the case that the house of representatives just focussed on the state issues you mentioned. The most notable Minessota house of representative candidates that recieve millions in AIPAC funding are Don Samuels and LaTrisha Vetaw. According to last campaign cycles FEC filings, UDP alone raised $36 million for state reps. It's a very cynical situation. Like in 2020, AIPAC started a campaign against Betty McCollum of the 4th district Minnessota because she voted present on this GOP-led resolution reaffirming that Israel is not a racist or apartheid state and condemning antisemitism. Its not disclosed how much they spent on the ads but the bill passed overwhelmingly. Its very disturbing to me that instead of focussing on issues that can benefit Americans and trying to use our taxes to help our residents who need it, these candidates and groups are dedicated to this foreign supposed ally whose ethics are troubling to say the least. Anyways Im glad youre against the Citizens United Ruling but like Biden, whose criticized the bill, it didnt stop him from recieving millions in donations from them these PACs.
