    Loved every bit of this video... but... as far as i love master Deakins... no love for the 3 times Oscar winner Chivo Luvezki and his amazing work on Children of men, gravity, birdman, tree of life, revenant etc... kinda was hoping to see him shine next to hoytema and Young.

    Great video here. Do you plan on doing a video for Video Editing advice? Just curious

      Hey Maximus! I’ve thought about it, since editing is something I do everyday. but it would be challenging finding visuals for it. I’ll have to think about it. What do you think?

      @@NatesFilmTutorials That makes sense. Maybe when you get around to it, you could show scenes with lots of cuts or visual effects. Like some scenes in Forrest Gump or something. Up to you of course

    You can only talk about cinematography in this way when you already have the actors, equipment, script, and direction. It only becomes an exercise in inspirational artistic creativity when you're already in the privileged position of having all the gear and resources at your disposal.

      I would challenge that with you can use the camera you have access to to make the best quality you are capable of. A pro can make a great film with a smart phone or webcam.

      It doesn’t matter about the materialistic aspects of what we do in cinematography, it’s all about the ideas you have that you’re willing to bring forth into life. It’s just about perspective, my friend.

      P.T. Anderson didn’t use a cinematographer on
      “The Phantom Thread”. He did it himself.

    the one and only secret is THE BUDGET! that's all, no extra secrets

      @NatesFilmTutorials  6 місяців тому +2

      I strongly disagree, it’s what you do with that budget. You can make $1 feel like $100 or if you don’t know what your doing make $100 look like $1
