A man with passion. Love it!
That is his inexpensive method for locating lost bits of hardware that may have gone astray during tear-downs. It also encourages him to keep careful track of said hardware.
It was one photo every minute, rendered to 5 frames per second.
Very nice lab. Great job Dave!
Great work! New place new inspiration :D Congrats!
Nice Setup..Really Enjoyed The Video Dave..Many Thanks From Rick
awesome lab space dude, the dream of every engineer!
Of every engineer with a family. For a lot of singles (like me) having this amount of space for hobbies is nothing special. :-)
Damn... wish I had that kind of space for my multimedia and music production studio. Keep up the great videos!
Very nice shop Dave :) Working Barefoot, my kind of shop lol
+1 for the IKEA Broder shelving. Bought some the day after Dave posted his original lab setup video. So much better than piling everything on the desk :)
Excellent video - Sagan's got a great smile!
Awesome lab btw.
One Word:
"Perfect"
Its really fantastic, good job ;)
Sagan is so damn cute! Thanks for the video.
nice job dude
Dave seems pretty handy !
I love this vid! :-)
Now that is some bench space, nice!
Nice I'm happy for you
Ahh, that pair of steps that have been used to drop test many multimeters!
And we've come full circle
Very nice .thanks for sharing . You push now to re build my home-lab and my ( shack ) , I'll add my Ham Radio gears somewhere too .
massive bench is massive
Glue together two 3/4" thick piece's to get a 1 1/2" thick work surface. If needed, screw from the bottom to the top - not all the way through of course. I once did this with 3/4" MDF - I thought it was real nice looking!
I agree. The camera was trying to compensate for light.
awesome
Молодец, Dave! Так держать!
one can only dream :/
gratz :)
Dave just an advice, next time put the camera on manual mode, white balance shatter speed etc so the colors of each picture will be the same :)
@EEVblog Now you just need to turn one of the walls into a giant dry-erase white-board for large-scale Dave-CAD schematics :)
One day I'll have a Lab like that...
So you started building stuff then said "naaaaa I don't like the colour in here ... lets paint it" :) Look at all that space. I am jealous as I am so crammed in my lab
and in the spirit in the old australian custom to build your furniture and decorate a room bare feet
1:48 Oh look who's lending half a hand to the build. :)
Neat :)
I could live there
u r my idol
dat happy baby!
I bet He's head of New Product Development Dept.
Hello Dave. What shelf system you using? Is it totally stand alone? It doesn't screw onto the wall, does it? Foot racks on the floor and mounting between racks regular elements or custom?
How are wooden shelves fastened? Which shelves are more convenient, wood or metal?
Your workshop shelf system is the best I've seen. Please review it.
O, thanks. I find it review in another your video. It is a BRODER L-foot shelves. There is no such in our ikea. But thank you. Now I know what I want.
I liked the original painting soooooo much better!
i liked
No, he just needs giant sticky notes on the wall
Yes, and don't forget to include the shmoo plot, which of course came from A.C.*
*Only geezers will get the last bit.
If only this was set to Yakkety Sax! :P
2 Dislikes, how the hell can you dislike this... Are you totally bonkers... :-s
Fantastic work on the set up of your lab there Dave, nice one. Keep up the good work :)
A big extra Like from me... Like, Like, Like... Liiiiiiiiiiiiike ;-)
What is the name of this song? I think I heard this before.
Thanks! Awesome tutorials!
Could someone tell me were I can get shelves like those? I tried home depot and lowes with out any luck. Thanks
Im in the same boat. It's exactly what I been looking for. Please let me know if you found it. Thanks
Gondola shelving. Lowes or home depot dont carry it. It's a commercial shelving system. Just about every retail store uses them, they just have the legs covered and some use pegboard panels between the rails.
Wat material are your blue bench mats made of?
BTW, great video. Barefoot, of course. I hope you spend as much time on the beach as at the bench.
So that's how you make a baby. seems like lot of work.
The last four characters. At least where I'm from. I tend to go by "Electronics" engineer just because when I tell people I'm an "Electrical" engineer, they seem to picture me at the top of a power-line pole with a hard hat and big rubber gloves!
This is common practice? Even for hardwood plywood? If my bracing is good, will 3/4" be okay? Thanks!
One sheet of oak plywood is around $45. It'll be $90 for two.. ouch, my broke college student ass!
so if i calculated right took 10 hours to get your lab working?
I can't find any plywood over 3/4" thick. Ugh!
He moved. Wife reclaimed garage space.
We have:
5 frames per second times 2 minutes = 600 Frames
One frame taken each minute, that gives us 10 hours, correct?
give or take the time to have baby Sagan take a pose on the bench...
@EEVblog You were bloody efficient!
(And Arghh I see that basic math that should have taken seconds to resolve took me nearly a minute and checking in my mind twice to be sure not to post an absurdity on the interwebs, maybe I need less interwebs and more arythmetics!
Post less interesting Videos! ;) )
Yep, lab rule.
Think a little dude, he didn't do it all in one day. So it shouldn't be weird in the least if he is wearing different clothes during different parts of the video, right?
what actually is your job is it freelance or do you have a actually job or do you just make stuff then sell it. because you got a lot of equipment and you tear down a lot of stuff.
If you want it done properly then do it yourself!
but how much did it cost?
Comfortable benches ???
So it took you approximately 11 hours and 24 minutes from start to finish...
Easter egg at 1:11 :)
what exactly is the difference between an "electronics engineer" and an "electrical engineer?"
lol'ed in a few spots and 1:48 i went :3 dawwww
Why?
Do you always work... barefoot?
YT is looking for the .com. Just substitute "DOTcom" and we all know what to do. If it's to a YT video, just post the last part, e.g. "watch?v=lhsgJnrkQYc&feature=g-all-u".
Yes! Finally got the chance to do the first comment.
What have you got a baby for?
first to say first To say first ah ha!
man cave?? nerd cave??? haha look at the tags...
Why?
You are a very inspirational man.
I have learned so much from you on UA-cam over the years.
I now design and get my own PCB's manufactured from all
the stuff i have learned from you.
Keep up the good work and what a fantastic job on your new Lab.
