I think the donut at the beginning represents a never ending cycle/relationship being broken. Cause in a shape of a donut there is no end but it was finally stopped with that part of the donut getting ripped off (Dahyun broke the cycle since she bit into the donut) I love this song sm it’s definitely on the slower side of Twices songs and something different, the vocals are amazing, and the meaning can go in many different directions.

Though i dont really dwell into City Pop genre often, I think Doughnut as a song is kinda exceptional since for the most part it makes you "think deeper" into the song. The lyrics are full of metaphors; the over-all melody is melancholic and evokes a certain feeling of nostalgia; and the MV itself is mysterious (and that ending instrumental is stuck in my mind for days). So I dont think it has "no teeth". Its a good and refreshing addition to Twice's discography.

For me I think the mv is about a relationship that ended not by break up but death either the man or twice(leaning towards twice) and all the scene of them is their soul remembering the times they spent together with their lovers. Did you guys notice that inside jihyo's heart in the Bridge it is not just a tunel, but the hole the other person has to fill. The same Red thing inside Jihyo's heart is the filling of the "assassinated" doughnut. It just means for me that they want to have someone fill their hearts, and twice does that with us (logo). The poor dead doughnut represents their own heart being left behind the guy on the Music vídeo that does not care abiut them at all; the doughnut is their heart with a hole and the "blood" that fills the doughnut is the love being taken away and falling apart, or the love loop breaking - they talk about missing their old love and trying to come back to that love loop of never ending love, but once the guy goes away, their heart/loop is broken... I think the guy was the doughnut. Because he was with Sana at the table, and then he left Sana and sit with Momo and break up ( I think Momo became the queen of ice and replace the guy for snowman). He was with Chaeyoung while talking Tzuyu (that why Chaeyoung follow him) and when they all member was at the table Dahun discover that they all love the same guy and that was shot to Jiyho and the love that Mina had for the guy died, because he killed it

This is a Ballard talking about the beautiful journey of love from the beginning to the end. Even though it’s sad, it still leaves a beautiful mark in our life. Dahyun, Jeongyeon and Sana’s table have two cups suggesting they are in relationship longing for their partners. Tzuyu dances in the boyfriend’s view or longs to hear boyfriend’s voice. Chaeyoung checks to see if her relationship with the guy is still sweet (but most parts are burned). Mina couldn’t continue the loop of love as she hoped for. I think the song is about someone meddling in a relationship, right? and now they are gone, and Twice is trying to find new love, but they are in this loop. The doughnut could be that person or the love as a whole, someone bit it or got in the middle of the relationship. I guess. This is probably one of my favorite Japanese releases, so good.

I think the song is about someone meddling in a relationship, right? and now they are gone, and Twice is trying to find new love, but they are in this loop. The doughnut could be that person or the love as a whole, someone bit it or got in the middle of the relationship. I guess. This is probably one of my favorite Japanese releases, so good.
