Thank you for making this video. Actually, you just explain all the details as well other things which is i am looking for a while. Thanks professor 🎉🎉

    Hello, really nice video.
Is it possible to define a dynamic load? (I mean a componnent whose consumption is not constant over time)

Yes, absolutely. It would be done in the schematic side though and I don’t believe it would translate to PCB. Hmmm 🤔 great idea though. I’ll ask Altium

For a power output connector how do you define the loads on each pin?

How would you model a transistor when driven into saturation. Take for example a BJT, with the base configured to the output of a MCU, how could I check the collector current flowing as per the analysis as I would need the MCU to output a voltage? I don't see how the analysis software would overcome this?

Ahh good question. A couple ways. You can get an existing SPICE model and modify its parameters specific to the data sheet of that prt. Then use that model in the schematic symbol by attaching it in Altium.
Modeling a transistor in those conditions, you then set up a circuit that forces it into saturation conditions and then graph the behavior. Hmm 🤔 do you want a demo in like Altium schematic? If in the PCB side I don’t know if it’s possible though.

How do you set the rules for very small ICs (like smart tracker)? I put in a MAX86171 and it shows me green error. Also how big is the trace width and the vias regarding that?

Setting the rules for very small ICs? I imagine they'll be the same rules, like minimum track width and whatnot you mean?
Or do you mean current density and smallest VIA size?
You can email me at techedkirsch@gmail.com and I can check it out!

What happens you simulate - it works, change a load current - it fails, change it back - it still fails? Got a 14 day demo and can't understand why - the failure messages give nothing.

Run with the default 150mA, and it's fine. Change to another number - fail. Change the load current back to 150mA, and it still doesn't 'netlist' the simulation. Delete the load, recreate and it works again!!

Sounds like a bug honestly. Hmm 🤔 it could also be conditions before the simulation or any other reason. But when I see inconsistent behavior like that, I think it’s a bug or the conditions are tight in the circuit and the solvers have trouble with their calculation parameters, limits, etc.

🤷🏾‍♂️ you got something against the mighty Ampere?? 🤨
