Please never stop making videos. I love them, I want to study economics, and every time I see your videos I get more and more confident about my decision. Regards from Mexico!!!
Saludos paisana!
Thank you! As an IB student we each have to do this thing called an Extended Essay which is basically well,, research and funny thing is i took mine in Economics and I have not once in my whole entire life studied economics. So this reaaally helps thank you so much
Hey craig , could you make a video going over some areas of math or undergrad math courses that you would recommend to those wishing to carry out economic research? ( maybe a math courses for econ tier list?) A lot of universities have calc 1 or 2 as a requirement for econ majors ( at mine they even strongly recommend calc 3 and Real Analysis for those considering graduate studies). While its easy enough to understand how some basic calculus might come in handy while evaluating equations and curves in economics , it would be cool to see you go over some of the more interesting applications of some mathematical concepts or topics to economics . If nothing else it might serve as motivation and a resource to see a bigger picture for those of us taking that "growth-mindset" for intense math courses for economics.
Hello sir! I had a question. I am a high school student and I want to do economics research but the data for it is not available on google . Can you please tell me how can I connect with Proffesors or how can I publish my own research in some website?. I hope you help Thank you!
Yes. I know that at least ipums is very stata friendly, but the first time you use it can be confusing. You get a .dat.gz file that you have to unzip, then use the stata code ipums gives you to format it into a .dta file.
Hello professor! Can you please distinguish between a PhD in economics, PhD in Finance and PhD in Business Administration? Which one should i persue as I am an economics grad and particularly hate maths
If you hate math, any PhD could be hard, but the least math intense would be Business Administration. You would need to look at professors' research to see if those topics interest you.
@@MarketPowerYT i have seen your video about economic history and I find it very fascinating. I have a thing for history plus i like economics very absorbing. Combining those two, can we say that this is specialization to go for and will it be fruitful for us in the near future?
@@manavsindhu7808 Economic history would be a great focus. Some people get a PhD in history and focus on economics in their research, but there is less opportunity there. I'd try for an economics program and do economic history or a business program and do management history.
If you want a trick to have the coffee mug I have hidden information that can help you I know for example that in the "Burden of Disease" of "Our World in Data" when they miss some data, for example, they have the cancer rate of Exempleistan for 2000-2016 but not for 2017, they will still give you one number for 2017 but that will be extrapolation made from the data they had before, the situation of similar countries, etc. So to search for some error search very specific situation when we miss the data and the extrapolation failed to take into account that specific event, like data over countries at war, etc.
Hi, do U know any good economics research journals? I'm an engineering graduate and don't know which are the reputed economics journals. Let me tell u what I have searched up before asking: Oxford academic: Good but very expensive Nature: both free and paid available. But, if it's free for authors, readers pay and vice-versa. ArXiv: some say it's peer-reviewed, and some say it's not. So, now Idk what it is. Also, it requires authors to get an endorsement before being able to publish themselves. PS: I'm asking from a publishing point of view. Ideally, I would like to maintain the rights over the article so I can share it with anyone later, and I would also like it to be peer-reviewed.

Please don't do Economics. Go do bsc in data analytics and big data .

I gotta admit. You had me at 0:10. Did not expect.
I've been looking for a data set for my econometrics final project. Perfect timing for this video.
Also 4:39
This video is gold
So what you're saying is you tried to copy my research ideas?
@@MarketPowerYT I *will* do a triple difference on child auction policy.
This really helped me as an undergrad student struggling to find data for my researches
Thank you
Perfect timing I was lost as to where to even begin looking for datasets. Super helpful

Thank you so much your a lifesaver for economics students
I've never seen such a strong flex while holding a mug.
I wish I saw this video before my econometrics final project.
I hope you do an episode about developing countries data
This video is gold
Please your clip is good, but take us through how to extract data from the websites, as some of the navigations on the websites are unclear.
Wish I knew about this video when I did my paper for Econometrics class!
Do a video series on the Austrian school of economics.

Hey man, thanks for your video content. How do You cite these web resources? How to cite it? Thanks
what about data sets for political regimes ? not just democracy but classifications for military dictatorship regime communist etc.
NLSY is another good dataset, it has data on students from 79 and 97, and the children of female students from the 79 dataset.
Ah, it's been so long since I've done Labor Econ research I totally forgot to include NLSY.

I never thought of doing a tier list on math classes. I might do that.
This is a very valuable video. Thank you
When you are an Econ student, FRED is your friend!
You should do a video about how you got your mug. What data set did you correct?
I think maybe Fred is more friendly to researches in the US not outside of the US
