Worked for me, zero issues. I just followed the instructions from the website. After the update the quik app picked up the GoPro and I was able to choose my own name and password for my GoPro. Thanks for a great fix it video
Great vid. Can I ask what the remote app you're using on your phone to connect to your GoPro ??? Actually bought a little remote from Amazon, works great but there's no video on the remote. how long will the camera say update complete, cause I can't do anything else to it will not power on ?? 5 minutes later, I pulled the battery and put it back in and turned it on and it works now. I am connected Thank You!
Its been a little while, but if I remember correctly. When I was figuring all this out. I had my Go-Pro freeze up a few times. I had to do the same-thing (remove the battery). If I remember correctly, it shouldn't take more then around 2 minutes.

Hey. Just had to re-visit this issue. I had downloaded the recent files and tried to add the settings file (which was missing). That didn't work. I downloaded the older file you referenced that didn't work either. I ended up using the old files and changed the OPTIONS line to match the most recent one. That worked and my SSID and password were updated.

Thank you for the video, it worked well except for one thing. The software for the Hero 3 plus silver, although marked version 3.10, it actually loaded version 2.0 . I had to look elsewhere for the correct software. However, your procedure worked.

Following GoPro wifi reset suggestion didn't work. Using official GoPro website files, didn't work. This guide and files worked the first time, after 4 hours of me fighting with this thing I only take out every couple years rofl. Subscribed and thank you!

use the update folder only, and to my surprise the password was change to the default, and let me change the name and password in the Quik app ...so easy thanks
I can't get my 3+ to update it boots normaly, and i did everything like you even to the same ssid... I turned off the gopro plugged the micro SD (16gb), removed the gopro files inside, drag and dropped both the Update folder and _Macosx, changed settings like in the video + setting -1 for both options in update.10, plugged the sd back, turned on the gopro. Boots as normal, no update screen..
I have done this and now it will not update WiFi. It gives me the failed to update WiFi settings and I’ve tried over and over again formatted cards tried different cards and now failure on work settings. Any suggestions?
so my gopro 3+silver suddenly stopped connecting with my Samsung S6 lite. I removed the camera and tried to add it again to the Quik Software on my S6, but was unable to add it. It sees the camera and connects to the wifi, but I get a message (after the wifi is connected) that it cannot find my camera and to try again. I read I may need an update to my wifi on the camera, found your video and did the install with success, but I am still having the same issue with the tablet. It will also not work on my Galaxy S23+. It will however work on an older verizon Elipse tablet that has the older gopro software called Capture instead of Quik. Any Ideas?

Hi! I have an issue with my Quik App. Namely, I went through the update successfully. I managed to connect the app with my phone. But when I'm on the app "ready to capture" and "camera off" pop up. This was what we needed. Works well for PC what about a Mac?

This does not work on my Gropro3+Black. I typed in "1" for camera and "-1" for wifi and finally it worked.

Sorry, but IDK. When my Quik app was acting weird. I was able to power on / off the go pro, and that fixed the issue.
