I might forget opening lines, tactics and endgamepatterns but something that will always stick with me is "You certainly do not want to take his Queen, you want to take his soul" Followed by a casual "It is just time for white to switch to checkers"
Happy Birthday, Igor! You are a very charismatic chess teacher here on YT. There are many choices for us but you have oone of my absolute favorite chess channels and I am happy to see how much it grew to almost half a million subscribers

I'm 48 yr old dad. I play for fun once in a while. I am a chess fan. I love Naka content as well as yours. Naroditsky is cool too. You are easy to follow and I hope to start implementing your suggestions in my play. Thank you for your content. It is much appreciated.
I much prefer playing 3… d6 against the Scotch, as it prevents the Scotch and Goring Gambits. If they play the best move, 4. d5, then black should respond with 4… Ne7. From here, the plan for black should be f5, Nf6, g6, Bg6, O-O, and then create a kingside attack like in the Leningrad Dutch Defense. If white plays 4. dxe5, then black should play 4… Bg4. Then we reach a fork in the road. If white plays 5. exd6, then we transpose to an Englund Gambit with 5… Bxd6. If white develops, though, with a move like 5. Nc3, then black can trade queens with 5… dxe5 6. Qxd8+ Rxd8 or keep queens on the board with 5… Bxf3 6. Qxf3 dxe5.
Hello Master! In the first line...how do you suggest to follow if White defends the mate with Qd2 after Qf6 in between? There would be pressure on d-file against long castling, once we play dxc6. Can you explain this line? And congrats for all the excellent videos and for the channel!
Happy birthday, sorry I didn't know! Your videos are interesting, well-made, and take us into new territory. And complete with the occasional quip thrown in, as well. :) Just to say they are all much appreciated. It is the making of them that keeps you so young looking, I reckon. 🙂
Dear Mr. Igor, First Happy Birthday! Second, I've attempted to buy 1 of your courses at 50% off, but the price remains the same in the Cart. Is this working yet ?
Igor, I've been part of the Igor Nation for quite long time because I love your videos, you always have my answers!!! I've been crushed with this gambit a million times, I guess now it's time to crush my opponents
4:48 after a black takes the kngiht, what about the movement of white Bd4? Then the play is also won for black - this variation not elucidated. ... Bxb2+, Kb1 and winning Qa6 for black and so on.
Watch it again, coach explained it so well. To open up the D File that is why you take with the D pawn so once you castle queen side or castle long, to keep threatening the F File for a potential early checkmate Black Bishop and Queen tandem at the F2 Square and controlling the H Diagonal of the Fianchetto Line of the Black Bishop threatening to take the pawn at B2 and Rook at A1 if white makes a mistake. This creates more possibilities rather than taking the knight with your Queen limiting the Queen's controlled squares.
@nix4110 Obviously they didn't have Torch back in the days :) My point is that since we Do have engine nowdays, so why not teach/learn the best lines out there from the start?..

09:56 the bishop on the "diagonal" e6-h2 is really powerful!
Hey , Igor , plz reply ! What about Qxc7 there at 7:45 ? You did not cover that !! I think I am losing in that case
That would be losing with Qxc2+, Kd1, Rd8+..
@@jey7562do u know what you are saying ? i was saying about the white queen from g3 to c7 !!! Look at 7:45

Glad you enjoy it!
After I saw your videos, I wish I had seen these several years back. Best of teachings.
Glad it was helpful!
Happy birthday, Igor! I really enjoy your unassuming style of teaching. You explain everything clearly.
@4:58 you could have told that bxa3 is the only move because the natural move Bd4 (supported by rook) is mat in 4 for black.
thanks again daer coach! But how we have to react if 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 exd4 4. Bc4...?
thanks great GM for teaching awesome openings trip.
3:05 after White covers with Nc3 go Nh4+, g3 and back to Qe7
Thanks a lot! I learned new chess ideas... God bless!
Happy Birthday my FAVORITE Igor !! you are Super !♟🥂♟

Hi sir Igor, Wishing you many more candles to blow and chess openings to share! I enjoy watching your channel.
12:44 if Qf3 then d6
12:58 if Qf3 then Ng4
Really appreciate this. I needed to know it.
Wow! Belated birthday greetings, Igor! Thank you very much for your chess videos 😊
Happy birthday! Awewome content!
Some of your opponents will notice this JUICY pawn on a7, but you upset them once again with queen d2 mate in one
It looks very simple in your vedios , but it will become really tough in execution. Thanks for your teachings
And yes you didn't age. In the past 10 years. Still you are my Number 1 "online" chess teacher. ❤🎉

HAPPY BIRTHDAY IGOR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome video. Beel looking for this tutorial.
Can you do a video on the dutch defense? Preferably the leonagrad dutch. Thank you!!

Great show....very informative and inciteful.

4) Qd4 can also get very tricky, many 2200s lose to that as well. Kindly make a video on that variation as well
Good coach
No time wasting
Straight on point
Igor is my favorite
Hey Igor, what do you think of the steinitz variation in the Scoth game, is it advantageous for black or nah?
I learned so much wow. I never make that mistake but I've seen it before, now I know what to do just in case.
Belated Blessed Birthday to you Coach

At 4:49 After Qxc3 you could have shown what happens after Bd4? Black has mate!
Happy birthday, Igor your video really helped me a lot in my games🤗

I love playing Qh4. For some reason most white players don't know theory after the early queen attack in the Scotch game.

"It's time for white to switch to checkers" 🥶
4:18 that scared me 😅
How about a family picture for the holidays. I think your cat has had a lot of attention!
Look like stafford gambit
7:37 If white plays Queen to g3, then what if they capture the pawn on c7 on the next move to prevent you from castling?
Then you immediately play Qxf2 and next Bg4 check, and I think there is no saving checkmate. The white Queen has to guard the f2 square.
@@firatinceoglu2187I did think that but can’t white just move the king to D1?
@@officialshak6354 Yes, and then you play Bg4 check.
Hi Igor, at 2:30 (and all other similar cases), why do we recapture the knight with the pawn, and not with the queen?
Watch it again, coach explained it so well. To open up the D File that is why you take with the D pawn so once you castle queen side or castle long, to keep threatening the F File for a potential early checkmate Black Bishop and Queen tandem at the F2 Square and controlling the H Diagonal of the Fianchetto Line of the Black Bishop threatening to take the pawn at B2 and Rook at A1 if white makes a mistake. Hm, I was expecting Steintiz. But this one seems nice too.

Torch recommends playing Nf6 instead of Bc5
Kasparov and Karpov played many games in that line
@nix4110 Obviously they didn't have Torch back in the days :) My point is that since we Do have engine nowdays, so why not teach/learn the best lines out there from the start?..
@@Naborbukv2 I mean they played the Nf6 line. I think it is the preferred engine line, don’t know what the hell Torch is. Stockfish remains king
