Its about time people are making these videos on the Scottish tenor drum/ flourishing, Thank you! I was learning to play my bagpipes back in the 80s but because of COPD /pulmonary problems its hard to keep that bag filled,(still have them though) so I started on my second fav the tenor drum with a little snare on the side. The problem where I lived tenor / flourishing drummers were not around and bands didn't really use that type of drumming, so that went to the sideline. but now with these videos I could at least get back into it even with the lack of in person teachers/bands. Even though a videos are no substitute for a real teacher it helps to get you started. So I'll be playing along with my old (early1960s to present) pipe/ band records. Please keep up with the learning videos on the tenor drums. PS. I did started with the flat shoelace.

hey ty for the video. I'm a very novic bass drummer. Iam wondering if the straps to the bass mallets are done the same way?

Can you answer this for me please
Does each tenor drummer have set patterns they have to follow for each tune or do they do their own thing when it comes to doing flourishes
How does it work during massed bands or when there is more than one tenor drummer in the band
    Thanks
