I can always rely on your videos for that awesome Stratocaster sound, good to see you back again. We just had our Rory Gallagher Fest, and I wish I could see you up there with one of your vintage axes, you'd slay all of em.
Helps to have that vintage strat and amp. Lol. Jokes aside, it still comes down to the hands, fingers and time playing your guitar. Sounds killer, but I’m sure you’d sound sweet with just about anything my man. Great vid! Thanks
Matthew is great but his playing doesn't feel like his own. He's definetely nailed the style of some old blues legends and does those licks as good as anyone, but in terms of his own music it isn't unique or different. Recently it seems like he's on his way to finding his own sound and I'm excited for that, I love a great SRV clone but love when people add their own twist too.
Kinda reminds me of the Boss overdrive I demoed. I recommend Ernie Ball 2221s if you want a little extra twangage. Use those on my Eppie and I get some good twang off of them. Lighter than the D'addario EXL110s I used to use. Might be too bright of a tone for Texas Specials, though. Is it an analog or digital pedal?
Thanks a lot Bob! We have a dealer in NEW ZEALAND 🇳🇿 The Guitar Gallery | Auckland theguitargallery.co.nz/?s=pedal+pawn&dgwt-wcas-search-submit=&post_type=product&dgwt_wcas=1
I have one of these and I have a couple Diaz circuits as well and These pedal pawn units they definitely come very close to the original & there a quarter of the price. Of course I do play through a SSS circuit amp or a Classic Reverb so I know that helps. But anyways with a solid blackface amp or preferably a super put the volume on 5-7 & it’s pretty close to SRV territory
Some of that is the pedal, some of it is your ability to pull sound out of your instrument. The pedal gets an 8.5/10, but those juicy licks are a 10, baby! A fkn 10!
Worth mentioning Matthew has some very special, very expensive vintage amps. His playing is phenomenal though
90% of that tone is still the strat
Not quite
not
i would 90 percent is in the hands playing the strat
Facts, its the clanky pickups
30% strat 30% amp 30% matthew and the 10% is everything else
That's awesome. A lot of his sound came from that old leslie Speaker he had. John Mayer now owns it.
Thank you for commenting this. You’re so right!
He always had a custom made dumbleland

That nasty lick at the end tho 🤝
As a guitar player from H-Town(Pearland), Texas, I really appreciate this video.💜☺👍
💪🤠🎛
Texans are cool
@@chair8189 Are they???
Srv was the goat rip Stevie gone Way too soon 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful tone.
The store opens at 9 am...can't wait to get myself a strat and a Texan Twang....and little less important...a book how to play guitar.
He sticks his guitar pick out far as hell past his fingertips lol 👀
So awesome man

The shreds though
Makes me feel sad I can only like this once.

I think he's beyond style since he got SRV making your own thing isn't as hard as getting to a legend
You need to check his newer stuff, since he got his 58' Les Paul he really has become his own thing!
You need to start a band dude! You got the guitar The voice! Go for it!
Awesome 👌
Nice ax dude 😎👍
Sick Tone!!!
pretty good there son
Sounds good
I like that thang
Dang!

It sounds so metallic?
Sounds pretty damn good to me. Wonder where to get one to try it out . Generally obtaining such things in NZ is very difficult
Thanks a lot Bob!

Thanks so much for the support Keith, that’s great to hear 🤠🎛
Great!!! I can see from here the string height... its like half an inch 😅
👍✨🧡💫
Left pedal?
Or right pedal?

Just get an all tube modified Fender amp with proper tubes with greenback speakers and you'll sound great kids.
SRV used JBL. My dual showman gets there with 90's eminence 12in.

Right on. Which ever combination of gear that gives you the tones that your soul craves is the path to go on.
Cesar Diez? I thought Renee was Stevie’s tech. Oh, maybe that’s his guitar tech.
Can I ask what strings you're using?
Guitar
Maybe it's just the recording, but it sounds like that pedal robbed all of your bass response
Very middy
That's a good thing 🤷🏾♂️
"Cesar Diaz"?? I just saw a video that said his tech's name was "Rene Martinez"
Cesar is amp tech rene is guitar tech
@@IHurricane thanks for the response. Now I know.🙂
@@jeffrojacobs8094 ur welcom3
Do it with .011strings😀
He has used them a lot
He used to use 13s
I thought his tech was Renee Martinez?
Rene was his guitar tech. He works for John Mayer now.
@@darrinvandemark4781 No surprise there....
Got click baited lol
Might have sounded better with half step
Hendrix is god
Very Hendrixy tone all the way dude lol
Make your own content. Don’t steal from another you tuber. That’s disrespectful
This is a demo of our Texan Twang Pedal we collaborated on with Matthew Scott 🎸
@@PedalPawn fair enough then
Just need strings that don't sound like 9's or 10's.
This playing isn’t really that nice. Its too aggressive. Even srv didn’t do this.
You sound jealous as hell. Upload a video of you playing.
@@Nononsensetypeofguy Don't you think its sounds rusty instead of smooth. Talking about how he plays.
Eh.
Just cuz that guitar is nasty looking don't mean it's gonna put out sounds like Stevie
Not even close
Sounds nothing like srv
It sounds like early 80s super reverb Stevie so I think most would disagree with you
sounds pretty damn close
@@idk9637 That can never be replicated by a pedal... That is & only is a characteristic of SRV's fingers
@@idk9637 took all the glassyness out of it?😂 your guys’ ears are horrible….
Srv is the king 👑 of tone just think it his name shouldn't be thrown around like this
