I am Greek and just finding out about this wonderful sport.
The power, the respect, the pride, the fascination, are unparalleled.
And what I watched yesterday wasn't a sports event.
It was an epic poem.
Just mesmerizing.

What a beautiful comment. Rugby won jn this match
Welcome to a real sport

Welcome aboard, there is no going back :)
From an Irish fan. Siya Kolisi is such a fine captain and a great human being. South Africa are a fantastic rugby team and the game could have gone either way. Both teams can improve. Boks need to find a better kicker and Ireland need to improve their set-piece, particularly the lineout . However, the sky is the limit for both of these teams.

Really impressed with the way Jacques Nienaber handles these after match press conferences. He stays calm, tells it as it is, no snide remarks and is gracious in defeat. Siya Kolisi the same, both are a credit to the Boks, I say this as a Kiwi with great respect for your rugby.
He deceives and lies with open eyes
Crap man, Marx just exposed Siyas role in the team again! All he wants to do is carry and as a blindside flanker he is TOO FETCH the ball... it's the same thing with Bongi who cannot fulfill the role, but keep pretending our quotas are not the problem. We just keep bleeding support and our talent keeps leaving our shores and systems while seeing quotas chosen on color not merit

We've got some work to do
Exactly. The ref made game changing calls in favour of Ireland
What was interesting for me as a more of an observer of the game rather than a fan (although was leaning to the Irish side), I'm amazed that both teams could have won it, and neither team was on point. A few quite rare handling errors from Ireland, poor line out, a quite good scrum but obviously second place to the boks pack at scrum time for the most part. SA had a few handles errors themselves, the missed kicks were ruinous for them and their penalty count was too high.
I think this game was the biggest test so far, I don't recall how the path will look, but I can really only see it being between SA, IRE, FRA or NZ.

Same with SA kicking poor but you have Polard back from now on.
We could very easily meet in the final, long way to go but i wouldnt be surprised.
@@RazorMouth You lost the majority of those lineouts in the first 20 minutes I think. The fact that the players could find the on field solution for that and lose very few afterwards is very revealing. Yeah, maybe with Pollard. However, we cannot win WC playing like 2019. That is why we are trying the backline a bit, and we make the mistakes in backline play because we rarely play with it in the first place. The Boks of the 90s had brilliant backline play, then of course came Heyneke Meyer with the Bulls and Jake White with the Boks saying that bashing rugby is all we have ever known. Ireland is more of a complete team. Just don't underestimate NZ. They have superior ball skills to us.
No cards in that game is unreal!

Manie is a great player but his greatest weakness in this tournament is the one thing we need him to be better at. This game had the hallmarks of a final and ultimately it was the goalkicking that cost us the game. Fortunately it was a group game but if anything, this game showed us why we need an in form goalkicker going forward.

Ireland went for line outs , it didn’t work to well for them , should have kicked the points .
@@stephanswanepoel2448 Typically I wouldnt agree, but in this game I agree, they should have gone for the lineout considering our poor kicking form. Although that doesnt guarantee points, I think on the balance of probabilities, we would have had better success had we gone for the lineout.
Going forward though, I do think Pollard needs to come in and the last game against Tonga is the ideal preparation. Games will only get tighter and tries will become more scarce once the tournament progresses beyond the group stages which is why we need an 80%+ goalkicker.

@@stephanswanepoel2448 finals are generally close fought contests and the winner could be decided by a penalty.
It is more damaging to South Africa and Manie I feel, if he is thrust into the deep end and it ultimately costs us the title due to his poor kicking form. I personally dont think it is worth the gamble.
@@stephanswanepoel2448 Manie's poor kicking has been an issue before the WC even started, it was not a once off. We simply cannot kick at 20%, to put it into perspective, SA beat Wales in the semi finals in 2019 by 19-16, with Handre Pollard slotting 5/5 kicks. Had he kicked at 20%, at best the score would have been 19-8 and SA wouod have been eliminated.

As a NZ fan, I have to say that both Jacques and Sia are both all class in the way they conduct themselves in these interviews, unlike our smug head coach!
😂
This is good for NZ as the AB’s are flying under the radar, and for one of the few world Cups the ABs are not rated, get to the quarters, then anything can happen on the day, in this World Cup each of matches between the top teams is a bit of lottery.
Not a Foster fan, but he was nothing but class when we lost the Irish series in NZ last year. Irish fans were complimentary on how NZ team and fans handled that series loss.
They very happy not to play the ABS but France 😊
The NZ coach comes across as smug, on occasions, but I think he’s masking his lack of confidence and coaching disabilities by being so. Anyway, the fans of both Ireland and the SAFFA’s are lost in their brotherhood for each other, judging by their posts.
But they will be in for a shock when they meet France. I see France smashing, bashing and thrashing whomever they encounter along the way to claiming the W.E RWC.
Proud Munster and Irish man here. What a fantastic game of rugby by 2 incredible teams. The Boks may have scraped it on another day. An awesome team led by an incredible man in Siye Kolisi. The very best of luck going forward SA. 🇮🇪🇿🇦
You must have noticed the hug between O’Mahoney and Snyman soon after match ended.Munster bromance.
Game of the tournament so far for me, high level chess match between two wonderful teams, could easily see this being run back in the final
Game of the tournament by some distance, I reckon.
Respect to Ireland . Well done , well deserved win. Go SA!
Happy with the win but no one, including Ireland will want to meet SA again
Well done Ireland..from bok supporter. But WHY????...so many kicks missed all of a sudden. The "kickers" (Pollard and so) left out of the game...what is going on in behind the scenes. Just asking???
Ireland were so good, such a good match! Well done Ireland! Tonga is a tough prospect but onwards and upwards for the Boks!
They care. Amazing athletes. Amazing sport.
SA cannot go into the knockout stages without a reliable kicker. We left 11 points on the pitch and until Nienaber and Rassie admit that, and fix that we stand a good chance of not advancing beyond the quarters. The Irish were very disciplined and played brilliant Test rugby.
8 points actually, one of the missed penalties lead to your only try.
Good for Neinaber for sticking up for his players, hearing him being interviewed here makes me understand why Leinster have hired him. A stunning game - best thing is no injuries for either team and everyone moves forward and we have the prospect of another cracking game. REminded again that Kolisi is a class-act.
hhhha if he leave thn we need a new one. HHHA
@@bongiweantiz3285 should see if Andy Farrell’s available! I’d hate to think what he could do with Boks, given what he’s done with Ireland.
Welldone Ireland, fairplay to the Boks for the intensity. Goodluck to both teams .
I'm so proud of my boys❤
I love Kolosi so much, outstanding captain and human being.
Also, as a Leinster fan, I am real excited about what we are going to get from Nienaber.
Sorry Jacques, the goal kicking question is valid!. People have said leading up to the world cup that this will be an issue. Tight test matches are won on small margins. We created a lot of opportunities to score, a few 50/50 calls, but in the end did not capitalize on that. 11 points left out in the cold!
Hy moet terug kom aarde toe, Al daai skoppe wat so gemiss word is a moerse nommer,Al is dit 2 of 3 dit add up op die einde.
@@crazy1ATE Scoreboard pressure! If the kicks go over, the pressure increases on the opposition. We just let them off the hook.
Would you stop! IRE left points behind to. They played like world no.1's! All the chat all week... first chance to show some balls you went for the 3pts!! 😂😂😂😂 Said it all! Not as confident as you talk... doesnt suprise me personally, ive competed against Boks before. Mega jaws! Arrogant as fook. 😂😂😂
The Bokke were not serious about winning. That's why they didn't kick into the corners, like against the AB's.When they do that, you'll know they mean business. The test here was to see whether we could stop their attacks. And yes,we can.Their only success was playing wide and counter attacks.
@@Vlerkiesagreed its not only about the points but the pressure and moral boost that comes with keeping the scoreboard ticking.
Maybe the this loss is a blessing in disguise. Its things like this that keeps our heads out if the clouds and our feet firmly on the ground. Onward our springboks we got a world cup to contend for. South africa supports you fully team.
Siya is always class. Such a great captain. From a Pumas fan.
Well done to Ireland - they deserve the win as they were superior at the breakdown and kicked better. The loss hurts but hopefully we can take some lessons from it. All the best to both teams for what lies ahead.
And their ref was good for them
Don’t blame the ref boet. He missed calls on both sides. I think that was some of the better refereed matches
Goal kicking was vital and if you misses those opportunities at a RWC match, obviously you shouldn't be there. I feel bad after the lose and so as my day. Fan from Fiji
Go Fiji! The world's second team after their own!
Brilliant game of rugby and the commitment to win by both sides was incredible.
This game was massive, i think might've bee one of the most antislcipated games. Much respect to both teams..
On reflection grateful for this we ve been playing SH while the better rugga is NH (who we do not play often) the kniwledge from this game gives us what we need to go all the way
Congrats Ireland. Go bokke!!!
Faf never said he could make the kicks.. Rassie called it with his light.. Stupidity..
He would have prepped all week. Players don’t decide what they do on the field. Coach says do you do it
Man in distance terms a few of those kicks were on the limit, difficult kicks
@@TheDruzzaThats just not true dude... For most teams, the players/leaders do decide what to do instead of someone up in the stands doing traffic control
@@Irish-Gael-sg4lv not necessarily, the captains and players on the field and also communicating with the sideline staff. Sideline staff get their instructions from the coaches box with a better view via radio. The fans at the world cup have been so loud that they cant hear what is being said via the radio head piece due to the noise. Hence Rassie adopting the traffic light system.
Blessing in disguise. Would rather play France than NZ.
Than you're nuts. Every single Bokke supporter disrespected Ireland so much. Now, one of the smallest rugby nations has beaten you back to back. Let me guess, it was the ref and the jerseys and the 7-1
@@baruchhashem49 Calm down boy. You're celebrating as if Ireland won the world cup😂😂
Our road forward will much abit easier now.
@@IAMJEFFREY-cw9ns as a South African if Dupont is fit then we're done for. Let me tell you something, I'd rather play NZ than France bc France is the home team they will make us suffer. The French won't fall in their own country(again)
@@baruchhashem49we not only played Ireland tonight but also New Zealand. What could we expect??? Referee's pretend to be blind that crazy
OMG!!! where to start with this game… congratulations to both teams, they put on a spectacular show of what rugby is all about, a very clean game of rugby the respect showing from both sides to eachother during the game and after is a fine example for young kids watching this sport 👏🏼 the fans were electric ⚡️ I would be a little disappointed if these two teams didn’t meet again in the final because it would be an opportunity to watch another 80 mins of pure strength and class from the best two teams we have seen in many years 🙌🏼 all across that pitch you have watched the best vs the best, kolisi vs Doris etzebeth vs Ryan and so on… good luck to both teams reaching the final 😀☘️
Rugby won. Well done to both teams, a fine example to young fans.
What a massive game.. so intense.. could have gone either way but well done to the Irish for holding on . The Springboks will be back, no doubt about that👍🏼
Ireland exposed some areas to focus on. Still alot of rugby ahead to execute ❤
What a absolutely amazing game both teams went for it full steam the biggest winner today was rugby 🏉 itself wow
South Africans have uBuntu ( humility & humbleness) spirit of tata Mandela thats Bokke for you 🇿🇦🏈 im proudly South african ... Happy heritage day SA... thank you boys for bringing unity in our beloved country 🇿🇦🙏
Books/Ireland match was important for both teams because it provided both of them for a chance learn and fix some of the dynamics of managing the game. Getting to the next stage was always there visible for both Teams.❤👏👏👏
Ireland showed their class.🇮🇪👏👏👏
Boks think their kicking cost them. We could say our line outs cost us. Bottom line, we won, they lost, so no sob stories from either team. It is what it is.
Class my foot! O'keef your bloody class!
Some needs a good cry. .🤣
Yep & will crumble very soon. 🙂

Absolutely 💯
Saw way too many people today calling Ben O’Keefe “corrupt” while completely forgetting all the kicks Bokke missed in this game. Springboks are a phenomenal team and it should go without saying that when you’re in the RWC and defending your title, you’re either completely tuned in or you’re so wracked with nerves that your energy gets the best of you. Ireland was just as weak with line outs as Springboks were with kicks. This game takes it out of everyone playing. A standing ovation to all players, and bonus applause to Siya Kolisi for having to do press conferences like this after a defeat. He’s got integrity in spades. 💯
The ref was most certainly pro-Irish

Bro u are embarrassing rather hush!!!!!
From a SA Boks fan. We did not have the skills to win. Is it the refs fault as well we can’t kick. Stop with the ref BS now
@@PaulCross-d4p I disagree. I'm a bok fan. Maybe you could make the case Ireland got the rub of the green once or twice on the day, but that happens. There wasn't anything egregious in the reffing. O'Keefe had a good game.
Congratulations to Ireland. As springboks we need to intensify the game with accuracy because it seemed like we were rushing leaving the ball behind. Ireland accuracy with the intensity was on a great level
The question on what both teams take from the match was a good one. The answer was good too. Both teams went at it like it was a knock out game !!!
Great effort from the boks they really played their hearts out. We need to go back to our goal kicking.
The thumbnail making it seem like Siya was crying kaanti he was laughing 😂💖
Thought the same thing 🤣 Damn click bait.
😂😂😂😂😂 right
No injuries thats a big plus for the team. The springboks is still in the competition all is not lost but cut back on the mistakes the long range kicks again did not work for the springboks but that is a lesson learned two tries went lost then the set kickings again did not work again. So let stay possitive guys. We will play France after Tonga.
Brilliant performance by both teams. No major injuries on either side it seems which is great and the RWC winner is one of these two. Érin Go Brath. 🇮🇪
