I have to agree - an excellent choice. I have one and I've added the combi bracelet from my other G Shock (which had bluetooth). I've realised that the bluetooth connection is a gimmick that was barely used, so this is a much better candidate for the bracelet. It takes this watch to the next level as it balances out the heavier head of the watch. If only they'd put a proper sapphire crystal on it, that's really the only criticism that I can level at it.
So true… Sapphire would make all the difference. I do need to try out one of these Combi bracelets. I hear so much about them and I’ve never seen one in person before.
@@PocketWatchTime I was lucky, my first G Shock, which I only got as it was going at half price, came with a combi bracelet. I didn't realise at the time how rare they are.
A műanyag alkatrészek használatának hátránya. Igyekszem nem műanyag kristályokkal ellátott zsebórákat gyűjteni pontosan ugyanarra a problémára. Az üvegkristályok tovább tartanak és sokkal jobban néznek ki.
I think this G-Shock missing Sapphire Glass is a massive missed opportunity. It would literally be the perfect G-Shock if Casio would have ditched the Mineral Glass.
@equaliser2265 The crystal is very deeply set in… It would be hard to damage. But sapphire would give me the confidence to clean off the screen with my dirty T-shirt and not worry about leaving a small imperfection.
This is my favourite watch but there's no way i can get one it's not about money. My nearest casio shop don't have this model and casio online site in India don't have this model. Can someone please send me one piece and i will pay the money
@@PocketWatchTime it shows the item (gw 5000u) cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. But they ships many other gshock models to my location including gwm-5610 and high end gshock models
That watch is NOT worth the premium in price over theGWm561ou. Your watch may have a screw on back and metal case; however according to Casios' specs it is NO more waterproof and shock proof than the one having four screws holding the back on. Think about that.
To each their own… I’d pay the extra premium for metal spacers vs plastic spacers and a more robust feel. The specs might be the same… but the quality is higher.
It is the law of diminishing return: I own a 5610 and a gw5000. The latter is doubtless the most solid watch and a nod to the very first G-Shocks with steel cores and screwdown casebacks. If you think plastic is just as good, google "G-Shock broken lug". The 5610 is doubtless better value for the price. It depends what you want: A cheap tool watch., or a piece of heritage and a watch to last (hopefully) a little longer.
PASS: GW-5000U does not have a Combi bracelet. Once you get used to wearing a g-shock with a Combi bracelet, you don't want to go back to wearing Casio's crappy resin strap. I already put a Combi bracelet on my Adrenaline watch. I am not doing it again!
I’ll have to check that. I didn’t even realize it may not have the option for military time. We use military time in the hospital too… I just don’t usually convert my digital watches to military time but instead convert it myself.
A pop of color would give it more personality. I was hoping they’d eventually make a limited edition of this model… but I waited long enough and pulled the trigger.
It’s my first… and my last g-shock. It’s a fun watch with all the features and the toughness (perfect for my job)… but I don’t see myself buying another.

@@user-cp9mi5st4f What site did you buy them from? Would you please share a link?

Sounds like a good model , congrats , im a bit more keen on the big models with brighter bigger easier to read faces due to big wrists and retirement age eyes 😊.
Haha 🤣 You struck a nerve with me regarding retirement age eyes… I have no problems with this watch… But I bought an interesting Seiko with a rotating display. Absolutely unreadable with my normal eyes. I need to grab my reading glasses just to figure out what time it is. I feel so old. 😢
Todos relógios casio caixa de aço é show ❤
Obrigado. Eu gosto de um relogio resistente. 😁
Is the GW5000 alarm louder than the GWM5610?
I don’t know that answer. Anybody else in comments? I haven’t even run the alarm on this watch… And I don’t have the other watch to compare.
No, same module. I can not detect any difference wrt volume.
A műanyag alkatrészek használatának hátránya. Igyekszem nem műanyag kristályokkal ellátott zsebórákat gyűjteni pontosan ugyanarra a problémára. Az üvegkristályok tovább tartanak és sokkal jobban néznek ki.
BS. I own a 25 year old Casio Forester that has the same 4-screw design backplate and it is as water proof as it was on day 1.
That’s great. 👍🏼
I think this G-Shock missing Sapphire Glass is a massive missed opportunity.
It would literally be the perfect G-Shock if Casio would have ditched the Mineral Glass.
I can’t argue with that. Sapphire glass would just give it that one extra degree of ruggedness.
Screen protectors are the remedy.
@gannon5409 I have that on my phone screen… so I guess that makes sense.
Never had a scratch or crystal damage on this watch, I have the GW5000U-1JF, GW5000-1JF and the GW 3000M -1er. Love all of them.
@equaliser2265 The crystal is very deeply set in… It would be hard to damage. But sapphire would give me the confidence to clean off the screen with my dirty T-shirt and not worry about leaving a small imperfection.
Never really was a G- Shock fan but this one would tempt me just to have it in my collection.
It’s definitely not high horology… But in a world of “tool watches” that aren’t really tools… I dare to say this one is.
Will evengually get it but dont know what the fuck im gonna do with it because i got another solar shocks.
@@LuisLanza-w4u Like potato chips… you can’t have just 1
GW5000U + Combi Gen 2
I might have to get the Combi G2 😁
I bought this watch but my hand got sweaty... I returned it😢
I didn’t have a problem with the strap ventilation. What watch do you usually wear?
@@PocketWatchTime This is my first one☺️
Hmm. I’ll have to think of a well ventilated watch for your next attempt. 😁
This is my favourite watch but there's no way i can get one it's not about money. My nearest casio shop don't have this model and casio online site in India don't have this model. Can someone please send me one piece and i will pay the money
I bought mine from Amazon. Does Amazon not ship to India?
Not familiar with the Combi bracelet. I’ll look it up.
I bought a Gen 2 Bracelet for this watch, love it. Not inexpensive, so I hear you.
Had a chance to look them up - what an awesome upgrade.
Combi1 will also fit: got a GW-5000HR on one
Nice
no military time? blocked.
Like trump said, ive always felt like I was in the military. I'm the most militaristic person in this room
I’ll have to check that. I didn’t even realize it may not have the option for military time. We use military time in the hospital too… I just don’t usually convert my digital watches to military time but instead convert it myself.
For me Its to Boring. I Own a 5600, 5000u and 5040…. This one is the best…. But i prefer 5040 Classic look
A pop of color would give it more personality. I was hoping they’d eventually make a limited edition of this model… but I waited long enough and pulled the trigger.
@@PocketWatchTime❤jfjdhfjdxjxiixuxux
5040 has the basic features with no BS with the dial colorway similiar to 5610 with build quality of 5000u which is cool
@yorusuyasoul69420 I didn’t know about that model… I just looked it up. I love the gold accents. I wish it had tough solar.
Get a GW-M5625 or GW-5630. At least these had a decent module.
Since 1953 I've never worn a G- Shock & never will.
You waisted your money 💰 $250 😳
The dark side of the force is strong… be careful.
It’s my first… and my last g-shock. It’s a fun watch with all the features and the toughness (perfect for my job)… but I don’t see myself buying another.
@@PocketWatchTime Are you a Lumberjack ?
No axes yet… but definitely a lot of splinters, saw cuts, and crush injuries. So… absolutely- I’m a lumberjack. 😁😂
This price, made in Japan, is worth it👍🏻
They definitely make nicer products for the JDM market.
this is not available in india
shit this is the cool watch
Oh no. Sorry to hear that.
