The Dragon Ball Z Alternate Timeline Theory

- Well guys, it's finally here. My first video to start the 2014 year. I have been working on this video for the last few weeks trying to perfect the quality of this alternate timeline theory video. Essentially, I created my own Dragon Ball Z alternate timeline theory with my friend MrDrProfSir to compensate for all of the bad dragon ball z timeline theories that I've seen from fans online but to also put together some of the details and good ideas that I've seen from multiple sources. I know this video is long but I hope you guys watch , enjoy and understand all of the content said in this video. In my opinion, this is by far the best video I have ever made and I you guys will truly be missing out if you don't watch this video because of it's length. Also , Please do not troll on the details if I made a mistake as a lot of planning and effort went into this video before it was produced. Keep in mind that I'll be willing to change the picture if you guys find corrections. Remember that this is a timeline theory that I made with a friend, not the official dragon ball z timeline explanation.I look forward to talking to you guys in the comments. Special shout out to MrDrProfSir for helping putting together the video. Please check out his channel below but most importantly please remember to Have a happy new year fellow subscribers!
Note: I HIGHLY suggest you watch this video in fullscreen

Yo Qaaman, let me run something by you lol If Raditz never came to earth, then Nappa and Vegeta wouldn’t have known about the dragonballs and they wouldn’t have come to earth. If Nappa and Vegeta never came to earth, Piccolo wouldn’t have died and they wouldn’t need to go to Namek. If they never went to Namek, they would’ve never met Frieza and Goku wouldn’t have turned into a super saiyan. If Goku wasn’t a super saiyan, he wouldn’t stand a chance against the androids…so that’s why Raditz is the savior of Earth. Thoughts?
you my friend just gave me a video topic.
booyah!! I came up with that theory 2 years ago haha and figured I'd share it with ya
but remember frieza worked for bills by destroying planets what if he came to earth before androids came about?
Patrick Luke Then they would all die, the end.
Patrick Luke lmfao Freeza didn't work for Bills
long story short. Akira's writing style just hopes the audience doesn't think too much about it.

this needs an update now with DBS and Goku Black/Future Trunks
No it doesn't
Dbs is terrible and should be forgotten

Another TL had to be made it Zamasu was able to take Goku's body in one of the alternate TLs. And that alternate TL had a similar outcome as the original DBS TL. (Man that was difficult to think of lol)
Rashod Albert no, super sucks
@@ZanzibarWizard well I agree it had its ups and downs
Basically the androids would of been the true ending of dbz, if it weren’t for time travel. Pretty dark I say
For those of you who are not convinced that there are 5 Cells, consider the following:
You have a machine that can duplicate anything that you want to. You have 3 baskets, each one containing an orange. You take one orange from basket no.1 and put it in no.2. So, basket no.1 is empty, no.2 has two oranges, and no.3 has one. Now, you duplicate basket no.2. Now we have 4 baskets. No.1 is empty, no.2 has two oranges, no.3 has one, and the new no.4 has two.
Think of basket no.1 as the Original Timeline. The Cell (orange) from this timeline (basket) traveled to the HoT Timeline (basket no.2), where there is already another Cell (the orange that was already there). The HoT Timeline (basket no.2) was duplicated when Trunks traveled to this timeline, creating the Main Timeline (basket no.4), where, just like HoT Timeline (basket no.2) is two Cells (oranges). Basket no.3 is just the Unseen Timeline.
So, there are now 5 Cells....or oranges...whatever...
Hrit Roy no, there are definitely 4. why would the timeline duplicate? it makes no sense. there is one cell from the original timeline who travels to the main timeline meaning there are two cells in the main timeline: foetus cell and future cell. there is also one in the HOT timeline and none from anywhere else meaning 3 in total so far. also there has to be one in the unseen timeline therefore there are 4 in total as another cell was not in the unseen timeline because otherwise trunks wouldve trained and been able to defeat the cell from his own timeline
xExotiC xB34ST If Cell from the original timeline traveled to the main timeline, then how does the HOT timeline come into existence?
i say that it was created when trunks died in the original timeline. I have a theory that the original timeline and the HOT timeline are the exact same up until trunks dies by cell
xExotiC xB34ST So, Trunks dying, created a whole new timeline? Then there must be another timeline which was created when Cell killed Trunks in the main timeline...
yes but these timelines do not cross over and we cant make any accurate theories on them. its just another one of those "what if goku never hit his head" things in what you're saying but how i look at it, this makes more sense than what qaaman had proposed as otherwise he creates the plot hole of the other cell in trunks' timeline and also he hadnt explained where the main cell came from to be in the main timeline therefore what i propose solves these 2 problems
Are you eventually going to update this to include the black Goku events in the HOT timeline?
YOU ARE TO DUMB HE WOULD HAVE TO DO IN BOTH BECAUSE GOKU GOES WITH HIM
SMS ok then you’re dumb
Nah, Goku black was as far as anyone is actually concerned just fanfic turned into a show
@@jerlaine1638 How would that be fan fiction if Super is canon? He definitely has to do an update.
rash b you missed the point.
Sure it’s canon but honestly it was garbage. It was the worst arc in super and legitimately felt like fanfic

Wow, that was a lot of stuff, but I can agree with it, never though it would be that complicated. I guess Toriyama never though of that much.
I did mi research and you were right all along waoo I thought it was three time lines but is four and it makes sense to me now
Im asuming that trunk when back a year before yust to kill doctor gero when he was as burnebull and haven made the adroid yet and all so nobody else the z warrios wouldnt know and time never shiffted as it did when cell came insted
Boy does this video bring back memories
Can we all agree that Future Cell likely changed the age to a year before Mecha Frieza arrived on Earth before pushing the button to activate the time machine as he reverted to his larvae stage?
20:17 Qaaman predicted Goku Black & Zamasu
He knew!
I’ve seen this 5 times already, probably will watch it again! Im not confused, it’s just really well put together! Great explanation!
He is wrong about one thing. We did see the Unseen timeline. The Android 13 movie is the unseen timeline.
Future Wiz none canon
@@XxMobileWizXx that makes sense. The z warriors knew that A13-15 were Dr Gero creation. Which means they already ran into 17-18. And since all of the z warrior including a cured Goku, were relaxing and Trunks was with them(at the mall) and not fighting or tracking down 17, and 18, this tells us they are no longer a threat, which means they defeated them already and the world is at peace(as there would be no knowledge of Cell yet). This would probably be right before Trunks goes back to his time(Cell’s timeline/3) to defeat the androids there.
Unfortunately this means that the Trunks that we see in The Super Android 13 movie, is the same Trunks from timeline 3, which also means that this Trunks will die when he goes back by Cell’s hands and his time machine will get taken.
This also means that this timeline predates timeline 1(Main) and timeline 2(Future Trunks)
The year 763 it's only in Daizenshuu. In the manga, and anime, the only information that we have it's that Cell's Egg maturate for 3 years (says in the fight with Piccolo). And, 3 years are the time that Trunks says that Android's will come.
With this information, Cells come back in the same year as Trunks first time travel.
Diéfersom Fernandes was that in the original dragon ball sub or the Funimation dub?
Animu Rican Z Manga and anime version in portuguese (Brazil).
WTF there was acutally 3 Cell.
The original cell in dbz was killed in a baby form in Dr.Gero Lab killed by Future Trunks and Krillen. Then you have another Cell in trunks timeline stole Trunks time machine went to orginal dbz timeline burried undergorund, becoming perfect then being killed by Gohan. Trunks goes back in his timeline defeating the 17 &18 and another Cell???
I thought the Cell in Trunks timeline went to the past like Trunks died by Gohan so how is there another Cell in Trunks timeline again???
Richard ASAP There are actually only 2 cells not 3.
The present one is dead in the lab.
The cell that time-travelled back in time is the "Future cell" he travels back in time before trunks's arrival thus creating a "new timeline".
The biggest hint of this is when trunks arrived and notices that timeline has completely changed(that is the affect of cell's time travel).
The cell trunks kills is the same "Future cell" but this time trunks knows there is a future cell.
Richard ASAP If you are disagreeing with qaaman's theory then point out exactly what it is that you think is wrong. His theory seems perfectly plausible. It was clear from his video that there are 4 timelines, and hence, at least 4 Cells. Your assumption is debunked already. Also, due to there being 2 Cells in a single timeline (HoT timeline), when Trunks travels back in time, it duplicates that timeline and 2 more Cells are created. So, 1 from unseen, 1 from original (which is now in the HoT timeline), 1 from HoT (which Trunks killed on his return), and 2 from main (one was replicated from original Cell from HoT, and the other is the one that was born in this timeline).
So are we going to have a follow up to this? Like the whole zamasu and Goku black thing? Zeno eliminating a whole universe? What about the whole trunks with the different hair color?
People always forget, that (our) Cell is from the same Time Line (universe) as Trunks. He took a time machine to travel to the past as well.
So they share time machine? Pffttt
***** did you even watch the show?
xExotiC xB34ST
Yeah.
then you would know the cell that appears in the main timeline doesnt come from trunks' timeline cos cell kills trunks in his own timeline yet when trunks goes back to his own timeline, he kills cell
xExotiC xB34ST
okay......
Wow, You explained it much better than I do... thanks... In my theory, Goku Black is coming from an unseen time... I had two Gokus from these four timelines one day I will a video myself...
I have to many questions about this timetravel timelines
1-Supreme Kai (Shin & Gawasu) How did they travel to the future Tranks world with the time ring...normally the ring should have sent them to the future of little Tunks (the future of our story ) and not the future older Tranks
2-Why didn't Trunks travel to the timeline where the Cell came from? The timeline that hi is dead and Bullma is still alive and alone
3-Who created Black Goku timeline....it was Whis and Beerus?? If is that...then Whis crated and another timeline with Frieza when hi blows up the Earth
4-Which is the real and first timeline....and who killed frieza when arrived on earth??.....Cell tells to Picolo that he couldn't copy the powers of a super saiyan when Trunks was fighting Frieza so even and in Cells timeline Trunks kills frieza
If Bulma was so smart, why didn't she take some of Gohan's *ahem* genetic material for birth more saiyans as a contingency plan aside from the time machine. When he comes of age that is. Or just take some of his blood when he is young and work with that.
6:21 I know this was back then but in super yajorobe is alive
Fan Theory: Trunks went back to 763 to warn Vegeta that Frieza is alive and coming to Earth in a year. At the time in 763, Vegeta is waiting for Porunga to revive Goku. Trunks trains his father to reach Super saiyan so Vegeta can kill Frieza and King Cold, achieving his lifelong ambition and hopefully making him less hostile
I just threw this comment out with no overthinking or analysing. You mention about Cell wandering the earth for 25 years. I'm guessing in that time all the Z fighters are dead correct expect Future Gohan and Future Trunks. Is it possible that Cell went to absorb the androids but because they were together found it more of a struggle. He could've been absorbing one and the other could've accidentally killed the one being absorbed trying to save them. Then with no perfect form achievable Cell kills the remaining android in a rage. He then wanders the Earth lost (but not absorbing people as he's no motivation so not bringing attention to himself) only to run into Future Gohan and or both Trunks and is killed by them. Or part of Cell knows about how time travel works, goes to sleep, wakes up in the future and kills Trunks, steals the time machine, goes back, talks to piccolo about obtaining Friezas cells as Frieza was already dead and was secretly watching Goku kill Frieza, then waits till the Androids kill the Z fighters as Cell would've been outmatched then on that day everyone dies that's when the battle between Cell and the Androids occurs. Was thinking that the extra Cell wouldn't have wandered the Earth likely because he wasn't hatched yet and that explains why we only see Cell appear and Kill Trunks. Liking your videos. Would love to know if I'm just talking nonsense, it's all a bit of fun. It's always amusing to think of what ifs. Like if perfect Cell had won and then fought Dabura and Bobidi (or Nobidi as I refer to him). I think Dabura would've won as Gohan in the future couldn't beat Dabura and i always assumed if fighters don't get stronger then they at least don't get weaker.
HEY WHAT WAS THAT LAST SCENE YOU SHOWED AT THE END OF THE VIDEO? THE ONE WITH TRUNKS IN THE FUTURE FINDING EVERYONE DEAD!?
Great explanation. Only thing I’d recommend is if you named the timelines so it’s easier to follow and look for reference.
The Trunks Arc in super changes and fills in sooooo much
4÷4=1
4=.1/.1/.1/.1
Each timeline is the same up until the point where the Heart virus kills Goku.
Trunks negates 1 timeline outcome, i.e the "Original" timeline. Then the Cell games happen after a sad android awakening saga.
The Z fighters accidentally came across cell. Kirinrin states"Hey trunks come look at this, it's another android" Trunks then in fear states he's never seen this before and realize that it's worse than the other three androids.
itll be interesting to get an update video on this with the inclusion of the future trunks/zamasu arc in dragonball super.
People who dislike are confused, I liked it 😁
Lol in Dragonball zenoverus 2 there are ages, I didn't even know that ages actually existed
I wonder how his timeline theory would look with the Goku black arc
Would you want to see it redone?
@@QaamansLandhell yeah man!

I know this because I’ve been subscribed to you for 3 years after I found you from this video.
@@QaamansLand yes bro I'd definitely watch a redone/updated version
@@QaamansLand yes
Maybe it is explained simply that Cell was the first time traveller. He had Frieza DNA from the unchanged timeline. Trunks lived in this unchanged timeline but like explained, the computer didn't need the data. Trunks successfully kills the androids and goes to warn the past about the androids and is killed by Cell, and then he uses the time machine to go to the time Trunks had set to warn everyone about the Androids. This one event allows for all the other branches to appear.
InterGalacticalThreat, Yeah I think that there wasn't an actual break in the timelines till Cell went back with Trunks' Time Machine. Take in mind that the time split would of happened if Trunks had gone back in time at that point too. The only way I can make sense of Cell being in the past, has to be because he was the first time traveller. The timeline where Trunks goes back before defeating the androids was already a different timeline. Cell was the catalyst.
Quaman was going with the idea that Trunks going back the first time in the TV Special was the break that made 2 seperate timelines and caused Cell to appear, but I think that it makes more sense that Cell was always present in the original unchanged time, but by the time he awoke the Androids were already dead. Cell is obviously more powerful than the androids, the androids were already out and about, but it wasn't until Cell showed up that Piccolo and Kami felt they should fuse. So this would make sense that he could overpower Trunks.
Yeah, the Androids arc. My theory is that originally Trunks never came back at this point. He came back after defeating the androids in his own timeline to warn them of the Androids, but Cell killed him and used it. Then, because Cell made a time split, another timeline appeared like the previous destroyed future but in this timeline Trunks went back before defeating the Androids.
The reason I say this is because Cell says that he didn't mess with the coordinates of the time machine, he just engaged it. This put Cell well before Goku had returned from Space and before Frieza even showed up, but we know that Trunks came right before Frieza showed up in the TV show.
So this makes me think that in this timeline, the unchanged timeline, Trunks defeated the Androids and went to go to that time to warn the Z fighters of Goku's death and the coming of the Androids.
"Hey so, who's got two broken arms and is a total bitch?"

@@jaysolo23 maybe found by the androids and killed
@@jaysolo23 it’s possible he was killed alongside the Z- Warriors as he would most likely make a last ditch effort to stop the androids after the Z- Warriors were taken out.
In the history of trunks special which is same in the cell and the hot timeline it is shown that Roshi puar and oolong are still alive along with ox king and chichi
I dunno theres a chance that earth was destroyed aswell. Given the way future trunks' timeline went too(in DBS) i think eventually Babidi and Dabura(they are out there looking for Boo who is on earth) got to earth and wouldve been able to awaken Boo uncontested by anyone but the Kaioshin. Dabura could take him so my guess is they made it to og timeline earth eventually and it was destroyed by them or Boo. Bulma obviously perished. But Thats just my guess on a possibility.
Plot Twist: Dragon Ball GT is actually what happens in the unseen timeline...
Super Saiyan Rosé Goku Black not possible goku was ssj 3 in gt
Its really unlikely goku was ssj 3 in unseen timeline since he didnt die

@@deansmith9914 This video is almost a decade old. I disagree with some things I said too
@@deansmith9914
Are you saying the Trunks that help beat Cell is the same future Trunks that gets attacked by Goku Black? It can't be. Because the timeline we see in the anime that has the cells games. Then goes into dragonball Super Mai, the fox and garlic jr turn young using the dragonballs. Only for Mai to grow older with child Trunks.
So if you think the original timeline Zeno destroyed it would not have Mai and Trunks together. Not to mention in the original time line before time travel happened. All the Z fighters were killed. So there would be no Goku black. Also there is no dragnballs with Picalo killed so Mai will not be younger. And would be much older then Trunks. For the sake of it lets say she's the same age as Goku. Which dont seem that bad. Until you realise Sayins grow old much slower then humans. So Mai would be old enough to be Trunk's mum.
Man, this got made even messier in Super

Not really
Dax Corsiar (Weeaboo) geez just imagined if these rules applied to something like legends of tomorrow or doctor who
In real life, time is just an illusion of light, gravity, speed and relativity. You can travel to the future if you fly a very fast spaceship away from Earth and back to it, but travel to the past is impossible according to physics as we understand it.
Think of it like the flash, if you change history there is a new timeline created based on what you change...it doesnt erase the current one with the one you didnt change, it only adds a alternate version of the original one
And this all happened because some doctor got mad at goku
Yeesh 😥
If Goku had just chose to kill him when he had the choice to back in Red Ribbon Saga. All he had to do was kill one guy.
Get ready to update your charts because Trunks is coming back
+Nephenon well it does change things a bit considering that Mai is his girlfriend i believe and youll have to figure out how was her age is possible for them to be together and how they even got together which has not been explained
+Nephenon thats why it could possibly change the timelines in fact i thought of ways they could actually create a new timeline because of this. im not saying that is the case but because of this new arc the timlines may need to be refined a bit.
+Morning Glory95 I think it's okay. if bulma looks fine I think mai is okay
+Morning Glory95 Wouldn't there be 6 timelines if bojack inbound occurs in age 767? In the hot timeline 3 years pass between Trunks defeating the androids and cell and therefore Trunks going back to 767 would spawn a new timeline because the main timeline would now be in age 770.
Bah time travel who knows but you guys may be right very right. And that's not even considering the times when Bardock accidentally goes back in time or when Trunks visits the past in SD. Or even when any of the previous Kaioshin went back, creating that big no time travel rule in the first place.
is anyone else scratching their heads while watching this video lol
Nathan Davies I did and I made it lol
Qaamans Land looks like you will be needing to update this timeline here Qaaman because i am about to break some GT fans hearts.
Ok after going through Xenoverse Trunks explains that GT trunks is another copy of him right? We both know this information, now i know people are going to try to discredit me because the context is from a video game, however the idea exists within the core of Dragonball lore. either way it's okay but you can't discredit the logic here, in the video Quaaman shows the results of when you use a time machine.
You create alternate timelines, now whether you agree on his timeline is another thing but in my opinion it makes sense. So taking Qaaman's timeline, and Qaamans Land you can use this information however you would like. i have been trying to figure out for years how in the world you can take Dragonball GT and prove that it's an alternate timeline from the main-story. i use to think GT and Fusion Reborn was of the same timeline, however the shadow dragons prevented that, It's a long story.
Anyways prepare yourselves for this, because when Trunks went back to his timeline he created another timeline that is post cell games where everything happened in the the other timeline where Future Trunks left at. the exceptions that i can only find is that of GT's existence that's it and Dende for some ungodly reason not having healing powers in Age 788.
very interesting. and how can you right a long ass comment without youtube deleting it?
the other exceptions to the timeline are that BoG and Fukkastu no F did not occur, depending on how Toei and Akira Toriyama create Dragonball Super it's possible the last episodes 274, 275, and 276 are exclusive to the GT timeline. however i'd like to think that wasn't the case. we will get confirmation on this when dbz kai is finished. (looking at it currently it appears to end with Kid buu's defeat.. interesting)
Nathan Davies The fan solution stating that the Androids killed Cell in a battle during the HOT timeline is ridiculous simply because he is stronger than them (why weren't they able to kill him in the main timeline)
HOWEVER my theory is:
There was two Cells in the Hot timeline. there was the Future cell hiding and there was the Fetus cell developing.
So my theory is that the Androids killed Future cell unintentionally while he was in the SHELL hiding because they'd been doing a lot of destruction in the HOT timeline which means that later, Trunks killed the Fetus cell who had luckily developed and survived the Androids rampage.
This is more logical.
With Future trunks coming to super. You will probably have to do a uodate video. lol
Ya Update the video with current super goings .
I think it's somewhat impossible to make sense to super events. I have no idea how Zamazu was able to jump to another timeline.
Travelling past creates new timeline or you "jump" from timeline to another (those "links" timemachine creates).
Travelling to future either travels on same timeline or uses those links.
When Zamazu travelled in future i believe he should had only travelled on his timeline - i have no idea how he jumped from timeline to another. Sure, he could find that link - but how did he know that link existed and how did he jump to that exact link? See video above.. there are multiple links already.
Not only Zamazu travelled from his timeline to future Trunks's timeline BUT Kais followed him!?!?!?!? HOW!?!?!? Can you somehow track powerlevels? Did they just sense that someone used that exact link between timelines???
It is quite impossible to make sense in that.
Well this says that GT is after battle of gods which we know is not a thing.
@@jackbagdadi6117 To be fair it technically could if Goku never reawakened god and Beerus and Whis never came back
Am I the only one who understands the whole theory I found everything to make some sort of sense?
No not at all
i was able to grab the concept of how all this work just by watching the show and when cell trunks and piccolo explain things. its not that hard to grab how the concept works lol
I understood fine and I think I need help finding out the Future Trunks from Dragon Ball Super coming back
Not at all. I knew most of the content in detail by following the series doing my own research for years. Was happy to see someone put the hardwork in such a video and analyse all of that stuff in a video
it doesn't make sens, because it's wrong. According to his theory, in the called 'Hot Time Line' there will be 2 Cells, one coming from the 'Main Time Line' and the second is in the 'Hot Time Line', but in the story of Trunks, when he returned to his time line aka Hot Time Line he only destroyed 1 Cell.
TK The Beyonder Yeah that's why its a plothole, genius, did you read what I wrote??
That's not a fault of his theory, his theory does a pretty neat job explaining all the important events of all the timelines and the logic is pretty rigid internally,.... but sometimes in DBZ, no matter how good the theory is, there are always a couple of plotholes.
One of those plotholes is what you're saying (one CELL only being killed), the other according to fan theory, got killed by the androids for showing up prematurely(the androids never talk about it).period. That makes sense now.
What if Trunks just accidentaly typed 763 instead of another year ?

The second plothole you pointed could not be a plot hole. See, I think that trunks was setting the time in the timemachine, where he wanted to go but as he was navigating AGE 760....761....763....763 Cell showed up and trunks could not enter his intended timeline on the timemachine and got killed by cell. So cell entered the time machine and pressed the button and went to age 763. Does this make Sense?
I was thinking the same thing.
Makes a lot of sense.
I just realized what he said 😭😂😂
I'm w u
I agree with your theory, it makes sense.
I can believe that the HoT androids killed the time traveling Cell. The HoT androids may have been weaker than the main androids, but they were much more vicious.
They weren’t strangers to fighting dirty, often grouping up on opponents in a 2v1 battle, unlike the main androids that seemed to prefer 1v1 matchups.
I can see imperfect cell having trouble subduing the both of them, even though they’re weaker.
The problem is that cell literally took no damage from both Kami-piccolo and a stronger 17 fighting him at once, i personally belive that time traveling cell got killed in larval state
@@Ealais76 That was imperfect Cell after absorbing thousands of people. He was much weaker than kami-piccolo when he first appeared and only got stronger after the z-fighters spent a quarter of the arc trying to hunt him down so he would stop absorbing people.
In the future, there are hardly any humans left to absorb.

I’ve always loved this video. The concept of Cell was great for a villain, but his backstory created a lot of plot holes for the show, which complicates the Android saga.

@@QaamansLand I doubt that it can surpass the original video as it was fantastic in every regard , Your narration, Sense to explain rules and plot holes , Choice of OST and video clips that are overlayed etc .
Only reason to remake is if you want to consider Dragon Ball Super as legitimate continuation to DB/DBZ , in which case , it adds 3 more timelines. I honestly hate Super as it brought down seriousness and awesomeness of the show but love Black Arc (Manga Only)

+Qaaman's Land and also can you do a theory on the dragon ball multiverse
The credits in the end of the movie "Wrath of the Dragon" showing Future Trunks with a sword were very likely pure simbology to show that the Trunks of the movie had become more like his counterpart ie Future Trunks when he got an identical sword.
Not gonna lie I'm here after endgame I love Dragonball tho
Haha... If possible plz explain the time travels that happened in Endgames
Am I alone in that I understand his explanation perfectly?
After his explanation I can wrap four timelines and five Cells around in my head and admit that the time travel cell in the H.o.T. timeline is a problem. The way I see it is that either he was too weak when he fought 17 and 18 and was killed by their combined efforts or 16 existed in this timeline and he defeated Cell but was destroyed/too badly damaged afterwards.
+IAmEvilTree I understood his explanation.
+IAmEvilTree Yeah, it was a very clear explanation, I doubt it could be explained any better to be fair.
+Greg Jones The fifth Cell, i.e. the main cell, is indeed a duplicate of the original timeline Cell and thus has that Cell's memory of the Unaltered timeline.
Turns out the Blue Timeline turned out to be almost exactly like the Present timeline. Now we know the ''Future?'' :D
Actually, I don't think they had to deal with Cell. However, it turns out that they actually manage to survive up until Goku was a radish farmer. Then, Black or that Zamasu kills Goku and then goes to Future Trunks's timeline and then joins up with that timeline's Zamasu who then becomes immortal.
Bass of Sands that isn’t what happens, he takes Gokus body from the future of the main timeline as Zamasu was going to do the same

You made a mistake the cell that returned from the original timeline didnt go back to the HoT timeline,
(he is also never seen there anyway which further proves my point), but he only returned to our known timeline which we are currently in (where the cell games and stuff happens) .
EXACTLY. This the part that he critically gets wrong and where I had to stop watching.
Let me offer an "Occams Razor" explanation for why the Time Machine was set to 763 when Cell stole it from Trunks:
We can see that Trunks was just preparing to climb into the machine as Cell came up on him. It's entirely possible (and the simplest answer) that Trunks hadn't yet punched in his intended destination of 767.
It might just be the case that each digit is entered manually (push a button to increase number, 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 5 -> 6 -> 7 etc.) and Trunks had only reached the age "763," when Cell ambushed him and killed him. And not knowing how to program the machine, himself, Cell just hopped in the machine and let it do its thing.
I have a question, so there are Two Cells in Hot timeline? But we saw Trunks only killed one after kills Android right? And Cell that Trunks kill is Cell from the future or Cell in that Hot timeline?
@@Odinshort23 trunks kills the cell that traveled from the original timeline (the one that buried in the ground) but he probably killed the other cell in gero's lab after seeing it in the main timeline
@@Odinshort23 That Cell that Trunks kills comes from the original timeline, but I agree. He had to kill the one that was developing in Gero’s lab
The problem is ..cell from original timeline should appear 4 years after arrival in HOT timeline.. not 20 years later...confusing
@@Odinshort23 Tbh I don't really agree with the explanation given in the video. To my interpretation, the Cell from Timeline 1 ended up in the main timeline. The HOT Timeline had only one Cell, and only diverged from the original timeline because Trunks traveled to the main timeline. It's easier when you think of the timelines as alternate universes.
There ARE 5 cells
#1. Killed by gohan during cell games
#2. Possibly killed by trunks in larva form after finding artificial human's blueprints.
#3. Possibly killed by artificial humans in attempt to absorb them.
#4. Killed by trunks in failed ambush.
#5. Killed by trunks and kuririn while destroying dr. gero's lab.
Akchun there aren’t 5 cells dude just 4
@@elcapotheguod9672 there are 5 as stated in the video and my comment.
20:35 Funny you said Earth is doomed because That's what eventually Happened in DBS
I don't think cell ever went to the hot timeline. He just went directly to the main timeline. In the hot timeline he was just born years later and killed by trunks.
Nah he had to have travelled to the hot timeline. if he went straight to the main timeline then there would be no need for the hot timeline to exist because it was created in the first place when cell stole the time machine. without the hot timeline, there would be no trunks to go to the main timeline and warn goku about the androids :)
Omar Shariff
ok...but what does cell being there have to do with anything? without him the androids would STILL kill everybody and leave trunks to go back in time... and i can't believe either of the theories that cell either wandered around for 25 years or killed by the androids because he was stronger than them
I get what you're saying but you have to think of it as sort of a paradox...say if cell kills trunks and goes back in time to the 'main timeline', it wouldn't be the same main timeline we know because trunks hasn't gone back in time. That means the events of the hot timeline would unfold because the z fighters wouldn't have trained to fight 17 and 18. that results in trunks going back in time and creating another timeline - which is the actual main timeline we know...rather than referring to them as being different timelines it's easier to think of cell just 'going back in time'...if you think about it like that there's no way that only one timeline can be created. hope that makes sense...damn this is fucking with my brain :/
+Omar Shariff I think it was Qaam that messed up man he said there were 5 cells that wouldn't make sense there are only 4 timelines so only 4 cells he is assuming that the Trunks in the unseen timeline killed cell but remember when the unseen Trunks saw cell he was surprised and shocked which means I don't think he ever blew up the lab I think it went
BLUE > survives to to YELLOW killed by F.Trunks
YELLOW > Killed by androids replaced by BLUE
GREEN > Goes to RED killed by SSJ2Gohan
RED > Was killed by Trunk and Krillin during Gero lab raid replaced by GREEN
that's 4 timelines 4 cells
+Dx Reaper (JSRF) Trunks1 goes back to 764, creating the unseen timeline 2, destroys lab(laboratory basement), gets plans for remote, Bulma2 creates remote, trunks goes back to timeline 1, "deactivates" androids. in 788 Cell1 kills Trunks1 and then goes back to 763, creating a timeline where Cell1 went to the past instead of Trunks, Thus the History of Trunks Timeline is created(Timeline3), Trunks3 goes back to age 764, which created a Timeline where both Cell1 and Trunks3 both exist(Main Timeline), Android saga, Cell Saga, Trunks3 returns and "Kills" androids, age 788 Cell3 attacks Trunks3, similar to Timeline1, Trunks3 Kills Cell3.
There would have had to have been 5 Cell's trip to the past is what created Trunks3, who killed the androids, unlike Trunks1 who used the remote to deactivate them. Cell1 would have had to exist in the main timeline and Trunks3's Timeline.
In my honest opinion, this is Qaaman's best video even after 8 years. No disrespect to his current work AT ALL. This video is just THAT good and it holds nostalgic value to me as well. Now that Dragon Ball Super has happened this video could probably be redone and updated due to the retcons and changes Super introduced. Also on a side note: I cannot listen to Solid State Scouter and not hear Qaaman's voice explaining something in the background of it. I don't know if any Dragonball UA-camr has made a song from the series as synonymous with their channel as Qaaman has with Solid State Scouter. Iconic.
ADJUSTMENT TO TIMELINES // PLOT HOLES EXPLAINED
First, before getting into my timelines explanation, I want to thank you largely for this video, as it helped me greatly in piecing together the puzzle
My timelines are essentially the same as yours, but with a little twist to take care of the plot holes ...
First, Cell in the “main timeline” said to Piccolo that Trunks killed Frieza ... so that means the Cell from the “main timeline” came from the “unseen Timeline”, NOT the “original Timeline”
How this happened?
While all is speculation, the most obvious answer is that a Time Machine can just as easily be made in the “unseen Timeline”, especially since Bulma and the others already know it can be done from seeing Future Trunks ... then the Trunks that is killed by Cell is the Trunks that grew up from a baby, NOT Future Trunks from the “original Timeline”
The beauty of all the above is that we can actually scrap the term “unseen Timeline” and instead have 1) the original Timeline, 2) Cell’s timeline (beforehand thought to be “unseen”), 3) History of Trunks [HOT] Timeline, and 4) The main Timeline
The coordinates were set to Age 763, as Cell claimed to just push the button ... perhaps there was a good reason for the all-grown-up-Trunks from the “unseen Timeline” (...known in my theory as Cell’s Timeline) to make a trip back to 763, whether it was a new threat or whatever
Finally, one may say there is one glaring error in this theory, which is what happens to Future Trunks from the “original Timeline” in regards to Cell showing up ... 1) either Trunks defeats him, which is highly unlikely from all we know, or 2) Cell kills Future Trunks also in the “original Timeline”, wants to go find the androids to become “perfect” and just “presses the button” in the Time Machine, but this Time Machine would be set to Age 767 or sometime thereafter, perhaps with Future Trunks actually planning to tell the Z Fighters that he deactivated the androids in his time, and this Cell would just be going to the “unseen Timeline” just as Future Trunks would have ... given the Cell larval stage and approximate 4 years needed to mature, the Z Fighters could have defeated this Cell in the “unseen Timeline” (AKA my “Cell Timeline”) around Age 771, as they would have been far stronger than his “Imperfect” self and the androids would have been long gone ... the assumption here though is that the Z Fighters would have killed him without getting a backstory from him, perhaps right after he sucked up an entire city (Piccolo did try to eliminate Cell in the “main Timeline” before he was able to get the backstory) ... without knowing the backstory, then the all-grown-up-Trunks would still be susceptible to being attacked and killed by the Cell still growing in Dr Gero’s underground lab in Age 788
...
Let me know thoughts or if anything in the show directly conflicts with my theory above
...
One more cool thing from all the above in terms of what the futures look like in the 4 different timelines
... one timeline would have no heroes left (original Timeline)
... one timeline would have all the heroes left minus Trunks (“unseen Timeline” which is my Cell Timeline)
... one timeline would have no heroes left except for Trunks (HOT Timeline)
... and one timeline would have all the heroes left (main Timeline)
You made a plot hole yourself because everytime a time traveller always goes back in time they do the same thing meaning that a Future Trunks would of went into the History of trunks timeline so its about to be a paradox
you must add another rule:
"The cell who will ambush trunks is always the orignal cell of that respective timeline"
And that's the original main timeline sucks for Bulma and hopefully roshi if he's still alive
@@blackx334gmgf7 Master Roshi won't die if no one kills him

I haven't been back to this video in a looong time, it definitely deserves more viewers with the amount of work in this video. I know this video is 8 years old, but I believe there is a way to fix the whole Cell problem in this video down below.
Cell goes back into the past of the alternate timeline that was already created by Trunks from Timeline 1, thus creating an alternate timeline that branches from it. And of course, Future Trunks would also arrive 3 years later because he is a part of its history.
I already have a solution.
25:00 First plothole means there is FIVE timlines not four. there is one more timeline before oryginal timeline in vid.
1. First lane - goku died, trunks back in time but failed (maybe go without medicine?) and created line with same history as his, didnt find out how defeat androids who killed him. cell didnt use timemachine but stay in future without trunks, reaching his perfect form - everybody died.
2. Failed line (oryginal in vid but with timetraveler) - goku died, trunks back in time and created unseen line in vid, ending killed by cell who knows about timtraveler and cell go back in time to 4th timeline - almost everybody died.
3. Unseen timeline in vid - trunks know about cell and destroy lab with him. So there is no cell - happy timeline until buu who kiled everybody because goku didnt achive ssj3 - everybody died.
4. Future trunks line we know from dbs (HOT in vid) - almost everybody died.
5. Changed time line from dbz - the golden winner - everybody live!
This is only explanation. And there is no first plothole then!
And there is even 4 rings in dbs. All created by timemachine. :p No wonder zamasu was furious at trunks for messing with time and chronoa from dbh punished him :p trunks you bad boy...
So if yajirobe was killed by the androids in the history of trunks how is he alive in the goku black arc of DragonBall super ( sorry just typed out my thoughts)

This needs to be redone bc of dbs black goku saga
timeline 1 cell 1 dead
timeline 2 cell 2 dead
timeline 3 cell 3&4 fantheory dead dead
timeline 4 cell 5 dead

Just imagine how long of a video it would take to go into this kind of depth with the DBS Zamasu saga timeline LOL.
if krillin didn't kill cell then there would be two cells
This is before DBS came along. DBS is cool in some parts for me but it really messed this is up. I'll just consider this as the pre DBS timeline theory and I'm sticking with this theory. 👊
Wow amazing this video surely required a big effort.
20:27 basically predicted goku black
Man, everything and anything about time travel in any context is always such a dark topic
Seeing this 8 Years later, im surprised that we had not considered the battle of gods movie to be the cannon continuation of the storyline.
As an engineer, i really think this is the only explanation that doesn't have logic flaws, reason for which i want to congratulate you. Not even Toriyama knew how the system worked, and that's why there are some plot holes. The only plot hole i consider relevant and can't find solution for is the fact that Imperfect Cell (from Original TL) in Main TL states that Frieza cells were extracted just prior to being killed by Trunks in age 764, and that if Dr Gero wanted he could have used Trunks' Cells (although he didn't want). The thing is that Cell (from the Original TL) couldn't ever possibly be created with Trunks' Cells even if Dr. Gero wanted, because Trunks wasn't even born in year 764 (fight with Mecha Frieza) and no Trunks arrived to that Original TL. Besides, in that timeline, as you well said, Goku was the one who killed Mecha Frieza due to Trunks non-existence. The other 2 are easy to vaguely justify (in HOT timeline, Original TL Cell was killed by the Androids) and the year 763 time-travelling set up could simply be due to the time machine not being yet set up correcly as Cell interrumpted the operation.
I agree with all of it except for the end. I dont think Cell interrupted Trunks while he was placing the destination. I think Trunk had intended to go to that year on purpose. It was known in DBZ that if Trunks knew where Gero’s lab was, he would be going there instead of warning the Z Warriors. The Trunks from Cell timeline, at that time knew where it was because he found the blueprints of the androids in the past. I believe that this Trunks wanted to save another timeline by eliminating the threat before it could even happen, and now that he had the knowledge he could very well do it.
Ik this is old but its possible cell didn't know what happened in his original timeline & just observed it when it went back to the past. So he thought it would be the same for his timeline too.
All of this brainstorming could have been avoided if the writer(toriyama) could simply provide to cell's character with a little bit more technological expertise and push the damn button with the correct sequence by himself rather than just confusedly having trunks do it for him(which creats plot holes and fan theories) and arrange the trip that he supposedly and conveniently was aiming for.Meanwhile giving reason for proper flow of time with the actual return of trunks after the future androids were defeated just like what actually happend after defeating the ultimate cell(bojack and so on and so forth but on that timeline without the presence of cell but still wouldn't have explained the absence of the cell in that timeline) .Something that was i think corrected with zamasus storyline and explained quite thoroughly. Is it a plot hole ??? or did toriyama just out of the blue decided to just leave the storytelling as it is with out giving too much thought or in his mind things are much more clear?? as a long time fan i would really apreciate an explanation to this concept
I'm making a redone timeline
