Kevin, I totally agree with you on what the chuckle was about. Many people have said this was the wrong song to sing for the final, but it's my understanding the song was picked by Simon. She didn't have time to come up with her own arrangement like she did for Bohemian Rhapsody, so she borrowed Sara Bareilles' version. However, she took it to another level with her orchestral voice & it's my favorite Angelina song so far.
This was her version of Elton John's song. Beautiful. Did you know she won Norway's Got Talent when she was 7? Definitely need to check that out. Her grandmother, whose an artist, introduced blues to her when she was just a baby. She went on AGT knowing she wouldn't win because she wouldn't sign a deal, but it was brilliant to appear on AGT Champions because of all the American exposure she garnered. The championship version of AGT is always won by circus acts. AGT controls what people are allowed to sing on here so they can control who actually wins the show. The whole AGT Champions was a bunch of bunk. She crushed it in three performances ( be sure to check out the third) and literally made the show. The winners were 30- 40 acrobats from India. Really? One Angelina fan claimed she got 70% of the audience survey as best contestant. I don't know about the accuracy of that comment but it sounds right to me and I saved the performances of the days she was a participant. That she didn't place in the top five made AGT a joke, if you doubt it check out the other acts ( and I do mean acts). In the end, AGT and Angelina both won big time. She saved their AGT season and they got her a couple of million new fans who had not yet heard of her. She is a star and just signed a contract with Republic Records, the label for Taylor Swift, Arianna Grande and the late Amy Winehouse. As I understand it this song was AGT's choice not Angelina's. She didn't want to pick a safe song. She already knew she's not going to win the "competition". She was there to show up her talent before making a contract with some record company. Now virtually everyone knows her and she's going to be a huge superstar. You know these talent shows are fake. The producer decides who's going to win. Votes don't matter and AGT Champions votes matter even less. She was already too good to the show. She just fulfilled her childhood dream to perform to Simon Cowell.
When Angelina was 6 yr old, traveling in Iran with her family, she met an orphan living on the streets who had scars on her feet & no shoes. They talked for a long while. Angelina gave the girl her shoes and vowed to perform barefoot until all children have shoes. There are too many unknowns. How much of this competition was in Angelina's hands, how much was dictated? The songs (after Bohemian Rhapsody)? The yellow pantsuit (where she had a t-shirt of her face underneath)? The requirements regarding being in the top 5? Who are the "super fans from all 50 states"? What instructions were they given, and by whom? What was the arrangement between AGT and her manager? Could she win? In the end, Angelina was the actual winner, because I and many others listen to her music and I do not even know the name of the act that won AGT.
The music industry can be wicked and cruel not to mention the countless artists that have been distroyed in the past. That's why many of Angelina's fans were relieved that she had lost, fearing she would fall into the grips of what could eventually destroy her. Sometimes not winning is actually the win.

I based my take heavily on the words of her uncle/manager in a recent article posted. He said there that for the longest time AGT is trying to get Angelina to sing for their show. Ulyses Labajo I had read that article too already. Someone else posted the link somewhere. What is a longtime, considering AGT didn’t do a champions edition until January of 2019. She’s been on a lot of radars since she won in ‘14. It’s quite possible that AGT has changed the contract to appear on the show because ppl have turned it down in the past perhaps.

And I think that has been the case with Angelina. AGT doesn't only mean The Champions edition. They might already pursuing her to join their regular season even before the Champions came to fruition.
Elton John, Yellow Brick Road. I think it was actually in Angelina's best interest to come in 2nd or so. I've heard she's been signed to a recording company (Republic?). Whatever she does, it's because she wants to and that her family is certain she can do it safely. Nothing but love for this child and her people.

Rant mode: on Here are the top 5: 1. Acrobats from India with a nice back story. They did a lot of jumping and flying through the air. You know, like acrobats do. 2. A husband and wife acrobat team made famous by the fact that husband accidentally dropped wife (or she missed him, or not - hard to tell) from (?) 10-20 ft) in one of their AGT performances. It was scary to watch but they still got moved on to the next round. They were actually a very good act and were definitely my favorite of all the circus acts on the show. 3 . A 12 year old violin player (you saw him in your 2nd reaction, to “Someone You Loved”). He has an Inspiring back story, a nice personally and a winning smile. A really nice kid and a good violin player, but he was propelled to that position by his story, not his violin skills. Sandou Trio Russian Bar - Another amazing circus act. Of the kind you can see in circuses all over the world. Angelina does something that the vast majority of the 7 1/2 billion people on this planet have also done. Sing. It’s my opinion that Angelina sings better than all those other 7.5 million people. But even if you think that’s overstating it (an argument can certainly be made for that) she’s close enough to the pinnacle that what she does, especially for her age, is far more impressive, even if it doesn’t involve spikes or flames or unplanned drops from 20 feet in the air. And there you have it. Angelina was essentially tied in sixth place with four other acts; two dance acts (one being a silhouette dance act, very creative), a singer/dancer/accordionist who was a train wreck in the finals, and a dog act with an adorable young German girl as the trainer. The fact that Angelina Jordan didn’t win is disappointing but didn’t surprise me at all given the kinds of acts she was competing against. He doesn’t come down to who has the most talent. It comes down to who the super fans would like to go watch perform. As much as I love Tyler, the violinist, the fact that she finished out if the top five and he was third is literally an outrage and you’ll never find better proof that the “super fan“ voting system is an unmitigated disaster. It guarantees that you get neither the best act nor the most popular act. It requires some knowledge to evaluate a singing act. Superfans don’t have that. It doesn’t take any skill at all to know that a lady springing off a board being held by a couple burly dudes over a flaming bed of spikes looks impressive. Rant mode: off And I COMPLETELY agree with you about the song choice. It was too similar to Bohemian Rhapsody. Very different songs but sung in a very similar style using a very similar voice with similar vocal effects like to the heavy is of runs/melismas, and the obligatory belting out. She has such incredible diversity in her stylistic range I think she could’ve done something more “impressive” to show off a different side of her talent. Even leaving the rumors aside, I do strongly suspect that this song choice was influenced if not outright dictated by Simon or AGT Champs. But I don’t have any proof of that.

She wasn't eliminated, it was the final... you can't get eliminated from the final, she just didn't make top 5 (the travesty of that is something else). Also, OneDirection was never on America's got Talent, they were on XFactor UK, they are British.

The company who owns AGT owns just about everything related, internationally, and they are not speaking to this issue, but it is speculated that AGT gave their standard contract offer. Of course Angelina Jordan is no mere contest winner, pining for a slave contract from AGT. Her worth is unimaginable, and so I believe she turned them down and walked. Her uncle is handling her, and obviously he is too smart to take an AGT contract. And, it is interesting that you mentioned a boy band. Those are notorious for contracts that pay something like minimum wage to their pauper boys, who only make real money after the contract expires and they get liberated from it.

Gary w. Actually, boy band or regular bands, and also rap artists, they only make their real money from touring. Until the contract is up. Mostly, they stick it out until they have enough of a following to renegotiate or start their own label. Angelina signed with Republic Records, the label that leveraged everything to support Taylor Swift. That guy (can’t remember his name without Googling), is known for letting artists “do their own thing”. That, I believe, is why she and her uncle decided to sign with them.

The label talks them into their idea of style and it utterly fails. Happened e.g. with Janet Devlin (X-factor). Only after she got rid of those people did she begun to have some measure of success.

I think the singers in AGTtC weren't allowed to pick the songs they wanted. They got a list to choose from from the organizers. Some say Angelina wasn't very happy about what she had to pick from, but she definitely did the best she could from the situation. The other singer Marcelito Pomoy publicly criticised that he was put in a similar position. He actually won the shootout vs Angelina in the finals, but didn't win either. A circus show from India called V.Unbeatable won. It's important to know Angelina was in a process of signing a deal with Republic Records at the time so I guess Simon Cowell was aware of that situation when she participated. It could have influenced how far she could get in the finals. Did you listen to her performance "Someone You Loved" she actually did in the AGTtC final show when the results were presented. She did that song with a sand artist, Kseniya Simonova, and the young violinist, Tyler Butler-Figueroa. That performance showed what Angelina could have done in the final. "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" is a very good song by Elton John, but not a song you would compete with in a show. More like a song you would put in your own concert of multiple cover and original songs.

As addressed in the comments below, she knew she was not going to win without an AGT contract. So she stayed true to herself, which is so Angelina. And if you listen to the lyrics, they are a very appropriate message to AGT ("I didn't sign up with you . I'm not a present for your friends to open. .... I like to think that Angelina learned from her mom after her incredible performance of Bohemian Rhapsody, that she would not be able to win the contest (no contract signed). For me, what matters is this: is there in Angelina secret painful failure in part of her soul a deep feeling of rejection, abandonment or lack of love? The show, I believe, has much more control than you know, about content and about what happens to each of the participants. I'm so disillusioned with television programs that I don't watch these shows on air. Instead, I watch You Tube videos of these performances, after the fact.
Taking into consideration that: 1. Angelina and her family already knew, before participating in the program, that their chances of winning were seriously diminished due to their decision not to be part of "Simon's meat grinder", under the terms that he they would have liked. 2. That, even so, they decided to enter the contest, because it was a good opportunity for Angelina, to continue taking steps on her path to professionalism. 3. As Angelina put it, she waited many years to appear before Simon, so it was a kind of "to-do" on her mind, since she was very young. 4. That within the innocence and infinite sweetness that lies in AJ's heart, the fact that Simon has shown her how the music business really works, with all its rawness and meaninglessness, must have caused her significant pain and difficult to digest. I think that although this song for sure would not have been the one Angelina would choose to win the contest ... it works very well as a message to the music industry, as Simon represents it. At the end of it all, if we pay close attention to what the lyrics say, we could say that Angelina, yes, was singing on that occasion for Simon.

None of the contestants on AGT-Champions were required to sign contracts giving anyone control over their careers. They were all winners and known internationally from other contests. Only AGT contestants sign contracts, not AGT-Champions contestants. I really wish people would stop spreading these untruths. AGT and AGT-Champions have enough real issues we can complain about, without making up stuff.
The reason she didn’t win is because this isn’t a singing competition….it’s a variety show. So you have everything from dancing to magicians and voters are stupid. If this was just a singing competition she wins hands down
The format for AGT champions is stupid. Nobody went “against “ her. The way it works for Champions is the audition round is first. The people that move on go directly to the finals. It’s only two rounds for champions. Angelina auditioned with her golden buzzer song, Bohemian Rhapsody and moved directly to the final. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was her finally song. There was no audience vote like in the regular AGT. The vote was from the judges. Simon told Angelina’s people that she wouldn’t be in the top five because she refused to sign with him. The champions show is really a scam to get Simon richer. Had Angelina signed with Simon he would have made sure she won.

I don’t watch AGT so I don’t know how the show works, but I would think it would ruin the reputation of both Simon and the show if everyone knows that Simon blatantly fixes the show for his own personal gain.

Simon's look... "I couldn't sign her" If Simon had any brains he would have signed anything Angelina wanted or needed as a contract, just to stay a part of her life. Simon for what ever reason let the "golden goose" get away. I for one am glad she got away, period. Angelina singing this song was brilliant on her part because she turned down Simons offer to sign her up and the song is about pretty much the same thing. If you listen carefully she chuckles at the very end. As if to say "Take That".
Kevin, I totally agree with you on what the chuckle was about. Many people have said this was the wrong song to sing for the final, but it's my understanding the song was picked by Simon. She didn't have time to come up with her own arrangement like she did for Bohemian Rhapsody, so she borrowed Sara Bareilles' version. However, she took it to another level with her orchestral voice & it's my favorite Angelina song so far.
She chuckles after every performance whether live or recorded and I don't know if she even realizes it.

Her grandmother, whose an artist, introduced blues to her when she was just a baby. She went on AGT knowing she wouldn't win because she wouldn't sign a deal, but it was brilliant to appear on AGT Champions because of all the American exposure she garnered. They do love to create as much drama as possible on AGT.
They gave her a choice of two songs. She did it her way, it was originally done by Elton John and it sounded completely different. Simon said she did the unexpected when she sung this song this way and congratulated for taking the risk. It was fantastic, also her age here is 13.
The championship version of AGT is always won by circus acts. AGT controls what people are allowed to sing on here so they can control who actually wins the show. The whole AGT Champions was a bunch of bunk. She crushed it in three performances ( be sure to check out the third) and literally made the show. The winners were 30- 40 acrobats from India. Really? One Angelina fan claimed she got 70% of the audience survey as best contestant. I don't know about the accuracy of that comment but it sounds right to me and I saved the performances of the days she was a participant. That she didn't place in the top five made AGT a joke, if you doubt it check out the other acts ( and I do mean acts).
In the end, AGT and Angelina both won big time. She saved their AGT season and they got her a couple of million new fans who had not yet heard of her. She is a star and just signed a contract with Republic Records, the label for Taylor Swift, Arianna Grande and the late Amy Winehouse. As I understand it this song was AGT's choice not Angelina's. Hard to believe you don't know Elton John's biggest hit.( Benny and the Jets may be bigger)

She didn't want to pick a safe song. She already knew she's not going to win the "competition". She was there to show up her talent before making a contract with some record company. Now virtually everyone knows her and she's going to be a huge superstar. You know these talent shows are fake. The producer decides who's going to win. Votes don't matter and AGT Champions votes matter even less. She was already too good to the show. She just fulfilled her childhood dream to perform to Simon Cowell.
When Angelina was 6 yr old, traveling in Iran with her family, she met an orphan living on the streets who had scars on her feet & no shoes. They talked for a long while. Angelina gave the girl her shoes and vowed to perform barefoot until all children have shoes. There are too many unknowns. How much of this competition was in Angelina's hands, how much was dictated? The songs (after Bohemian Rhapsody)? The yellow pantsuit (where she had a t-shirt of her face underneath)? The requirements regarding being in the top 5? Who are the "super fans from all 50 states"? What instructions were they given, and by whom? What was the arrangement between AGT and her manager? Could she win? In the end, Angelina was the actual winner, because I and many others listen to her music and I do not even know the name of the act that won AGT.
The music industry can be wicked and cruel not to mention the countless artists that have been distroyed in the past. That's why many of Angelina's fans were relieved that she had lost, fearing she would fall into the grips of what could eventually destroy her. Sometimes not winning is actually the win.
1st, bunch of acrobats won the whole show. 2nd, You're correct about saying that the song choice isn't really for competition type but what I disagree is when you said that she was like took it too safe, no she did not. She took a risk with that song. She made that old boring song breath a new life. If only she wanted to play safe she could have chose her most viewed performances on UA-cam and run away with the title. But Angelina is not like that... Music is an art, it's all about sincerity... And she maybe wanted the people to see what artistry is all about. And that's one of the many reasons why she always has my utmost respect. This performance is nothing but a masterpiece. And some people failed to see that.
But everything is a bit clear now. As what her uncle/ manager said... Angelina was presented a special contract by AGT just for her to appear on their show. And who knows what kind of deal is that. And I'm guessing.... AGT badly wanted Angelina to their show. Angelina refuses a binding contract which comes along in participating to AGT. AGT finally agreed to not include the binding contract but in return Angelina can't win the show. All Angelina wanted is a platform to launch her into the whole America. Win-win for both side perhaps.

I based my take heavily on the words of her uncle/manager in a recent article posted. He said there that for the longest time AGT is trying to get Angelina to sing for their show.

Ulyses Labajo I had read that article too already. Someone else posted the link somewhere. What is a longtime, considering AGT didn’t do a champions edition until January of 2019. She’s been on a lot of radars since she won in ‘14. It’s quite possible that AGT has changed the contract to appear on the show because ppl have turned it down in the past perhaps.

And I think that has been the case with Angelina. AGT doesn't only mean The Champions edition. They might already pursuing her to join their regular season even before the Champions came to fruition.

Elton John, Yellow Brick Road. I think it was actually in Angelina's best interest to come in 2nd or so. I've heard she's been signed to a recording company (Republic?). Whatever she does, it's because she wants to and that her family is certain she can do it safely. Nothing but love for this child and her people.
It was absolutely the best song choice for finals. But only if you come from a place of having lived with original version by Elton John, and lived through the song's history, and know the life story of Elton John would a person understand the genius in choosing this song. Myself, and anyone else who has watched your reactions, then have 2 choices... subscribe and continue to watch more of your reactions, or leave, not to return again. I was going to just leave, and go watch other Reactors whose videos have more "substance", and information about why and what they "got" from watching the videos. 1. Acrobats from India with a nice back story. They did a lot of jumping and flying through the air. You know, like acrobats do.
2. A husband and wife acrobat team made famous by the fact that husband accidentally dropped wife (or she missed him, or not - hard to tell) from (?) 10-20 ft) in one of their AGT performances. It was scary to watch but they still got moved on to the next round. They were actually a very good act and were definitely my favorite of all the circus acts on the show.
3 . A 12 year old violin player (you saw him in your 2nd reaction, to “Someone You Loved”). He has an Inspiring back story, a nice personally and a winning smile. A really nice kid and a good violin player, but he was propelled to that position by his story, not his violin skills. 4. He’s a tenor! He’s a falsetto soprano! He’s two in one! Dramatically reducing your wedding singer costs! Real sopranos are so pricey. The only problem is you’ll never hear them both singing at the same time with us. He actually is a good singer, otherwise I would’ve been tempted to classify him with the circus acts.
5. Sandou Trio Russian Bar - Another amazing circus act. Of the kind you can see in circuses all over the world.
Angelina does something that the vast majority of the 7 1/2 billion people on this planet have also done. Sing. It’s my opinion that Angelina sings better than all those other 7.5 million people. But even if you think that’s overstating it (an argument can certainly be made for that) she’s close enough to the pinnacle that what she does, especially for her age, is far more impressive, even if it doesn’t involve spikes or flames or unplanned drops from 20 feet in the air.
And there you have it. Angelina was essentially tied in sixth place with four other acts; two dance acts (one being a silhouette dance act, very creative), a singer/dancer/accordionist who was a train wreck in the finals, and a dog act with an adorable young German girl as the trainer.
The fact that Angelina Jordan didn’t win is disappointing but didn’t surprise me at all given the kinds of acts she was competing against. He doesn’t come down to who has the most talent. It comes down to who the super fans would like to go watch perform. As much as I love Tyler, the violinist, the fact that she finished out if the top five and he was third is literally an outrage and you’ll never find better proof that the “super fan“ voting system is an unmitigated disaster. It guarantees that you get neither the best act nor the most popular act. It requires some knowledge to evaluate a singing act. Superfans don’t have that. It doesn’t take any skill at all to know that a lady springing off a board being held by a couple burly dudes over a flaming bed of spikes looks impressive.

And I COMPLETELY agree with you about the song choice. It was too similar to Bohemian Rhapsody. Very different songs but sung in a very similar style using a very similar voice with similar vocal effects like to the heavy is of runs/melismas, and the obligatory belting out. She has such incredible diversity in her stylistic range I think she could’ve done something more “impressive” to show off a different side of her talent. Even leaving the rumors aside, I do strongly suspect that this song choice was influenced if not outright dictated by Simon or AGT Champs. But I don’t have any proof of that.

The company who owns AGT owns just about everything related, internationally, and they are not speaking to this issue, but it is speculated that AGT gave their standard contract offer. Of course Angelina Jordan is no mere contest winner, pining for a slave contract from AGT. Her worth is unimaginable, and so I believe she turned them down and walked. Her uncle is handling her, and obviously he is too smart to take an AGT contract. And, it is interesting that you mentioned a boy band. Those are notorious for contracts that pay something like minimum wage to their pauper boys, who only make real money after the contract expires and they get liberated from it.

Gary w. Actually, boy band or regular bands, and also rap artists, they only make their real money from touring. Until the contract is up. Mostly, they stick it out until they have enough of a following to renegotiate or start their own label. Angelina signed with Republic Records, the label that leveraged everything to support Taylor Swift. That guy (can’t remember his name without Googling), is known for letting artists “do their own thing”. That, I believe, is why she and her uncle decided to sign with them.

The thing with many contest winners is, you never hear of them again. The label talks them into their idea of style and it utterly fails. Happened e.g. with Janet Devlin (X-factor). Only after she got rid of those people did she begun to have some measure of success.

I think the singers in AGTtC weren't allowed to pick the songs they wanted. They got a list to choose from from the organizers. Some say Angelina wasn't very happy about what she had to pick from, but she definitely did the best she could from the situation.
The other singer Marcelito Pomoy publicly criticised that he was put in a similar position. He actually won the shootout vs Angelina in the finals, but didn't win either. A circus show from India called V.Unbeatable won.
It's important to know Angelina was in a process of signing a deal with Republic Records at the time so I guess Simon Cowell was aware of that situation when she participated. It could have influenced how far she could get in the finals.
Did you listen to her performance "Someone You Loved" she actually did in the AGTtC final show when the results were presented. She did that song with a sand artist, Kseniya Simonova, and the young violinist, Tyler Butler-Figueroa. That performance showed what Angelina could have done in the final. "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" is a very good song by Elton John, but not a song you would compete with in a show. More like a song you would put in your own concert of multiple cover and original songs.

The show, I believe, has much more control than you know, about content and about what happens to each of the participants. I'm so disillusioned with television programs that I don't watch these shows on air. Instead, I watch You Tube videos of these performances, after the fact.
Taking into consideration that:
1. Angelina and her family already knew, before participating in the program, that their chances of winning were seriously diminished due to their decision not to be part of "Simon's meat grinder", under the terms that he they would have liked.
2. That, even so, they decided to enter the contest, because it was a good opportunity for Angelina, to continue taking steps on her path to professionalism.
3. As Angelina put it, she waited many years to appear before Simon, so it was a kind of "to-do" on her mind, since she was very young.
4. That within the innocence and infinite sweetness that lies in AJ's heart, the fact that Simon has shown her how the music business really works, with all its rawness and meaninglessness, must have caused her significant pain and difficult to digest.
I think that although this song for sure would not have been the one Angelina would choose to win the contest ... it works very well as a message to the music industry, as Simon represents it.
At the end of it all, if we pay close attention to what the lyrics say, we could say that Angelina, yes, was singing on that occasion for Simon.

None of the contestants on AGT-Champions were required to sign contracts giving anyone control over their careers. They were all winners and known internationally from other contests. Only AGT contestants sign contracts, not AGT-Champions contestants. I really wish people would stop spreading these untruths. AGT and AGT-Champions have enough real issues we can complain about, without making up stuff.

The format for AGT champions is stupid. Nobody went “against “ her. The way it works for Champions is the audition round is first. The people that move on go directly to the finals. It’s only two rounds for champions. Angelina auditioned with her golden buzzer song, Bohemian Rhapsody and moved directly to the final. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was her finally song. There was no audience vote like in the regular AGT. The vote was from the judges. Simon told Angelina’s people that she wouldn’t be in the top five because she refused to sign with him. The champions show is really a scam to get Simon richer. Had Angelina signed with Simon he would have made sure she won.
It is not the judges that voted, but "super-fans" obvious fans of AGT..... One from each state in US. And they just had 1 vote to give. As I have understood.
Did he really say that? You aren’t the first to say something along those lines, but how do you know? I wouldn’t put it past Simon to be THINKING that, but I find it hard to believe that Simon would be such an idiot to actually SAY that to her (that she wouldn’t be in the top five if she didn’t sign a contract with him). That’s essentially extortion. I don’t watch AGT so I don’t know how the show works, but I would think it would ruin the reputation of both Simon and the show if everyone knows that Simon blatantly fixes the show for his own personal gain.
