    Nice video. It's so crazy to me how they let this place fall apart like they have. I see they've boarded everything up now

      Yup! Never understood why they let nice buildings/places fall apart instead of somehow salvaging them? I think I read the Polo Ralph Lauren building will be used as a town hall but everything else to be demolished. Wild! Thanks for watching Ray!💕

      It makes zero sense other than the owners holding on to the property letting it go bad until a developer finally offered a plan or the town would have to assist with financial incentives. These stores could have easily been converted to some type of residences or extended stay hotel village mixed with essential retail.

      Flemington is a high priced area, but with so many people without places to live, this could have been a model residence plan for first time owners or elderly.

    My mom would shop here for me in the 80's and early 90's, it was joyful place, it was packed but not overwhelming, they had a store close to the parking lot that had bargain prices, people were well behaved and kept the place clean, the 80's and early 90's was pleasant

    This is sad AF. Lots of good memories from this place back in the day which don't feel that long ago. COVID was the final nail in the coffin for the remaining stores at LV.
    Kaybee, Toys-R-Us, Radio Shack, Circuit City, Christmas Tree Stores, Borders, Liberty Village.... it feels like old friends passing away each time one goes under. 😢

    I really enjoyed shopping there. In the late eighties it was so busy you could hardly get a parking spot. It's so sad to see it this way.

      I went to liberty village outlets once in 2017 and it was pretty empty then too

    Was it liberty village that had the train and hobby shop years ago? I can’t remember if it was here or another shopping center in flemington. I do remember maybe about 20 years ago buying a very nice framed print from an art and frame store here. Also, used to go into that polo store in my teens. Thanks again for these vids.

    Santee Outlets was a similar village style outlet center here in SC that closed long before we moved down here. Not as nice as Liberty, but now It’s rotting away and waaaay beyond repair sitting right along 95. It’s pretty secured with fences but I would love to walk around.

    I loved Liberty Village as a kid. Recently my friends and I explored parts of it and saw really how much disrepair its in. It's so crazy to think about how many memories were made here and how many people shopped and did stuff at Liberty Village before most of it's stores closed. I frequently bike past Liberty Village and saw it's fenced up. Anyone know if they are doing demo yet?

      @explore.evermore  Рік тому

      The news I read was that demo would be sometime early this year maybe February. Since the fences are up, my guess would be very soon. It’s sad!

      @@explore.evermoreck in December I was in that area and I wanted to go see it but it was like after 7pm and dark so I kinda didn’t wanna go wandering there alone in the dark lol. But I got one last look at it from a distance.

    Flemington question… there was a small mom and pop toy store over near the racetrack when I was a kid. I remember getting Nintendo games like Metroid, Mike Tyson’s punch out and kid Icarus at that store. I assume it’s long gone like the track. Does anyone know the name of the toy store? Thanks

    Looks like the vandalism has started already… animals. Luckily it seems the plans are already locked in for the new future. Sad to see it go, but glad it’s not just going to rot and become a safety hazard for the community.

    My childhood had officially expired. Flemington is dying.
