Satavahan's Legacy of being Dakshinapati was carried by Chalukya and Rashtrakutas then by powerful Vijaynagara Empire and then by Marathas.

Sathavahans are the last kings of andhara who had expansionist mindset to regain all the land of Mauryan empire under one rule they started in a small village and established a great kingdom.
4:20 One point you missed was that in the same Buddhist caves found in Nasik, they found an inscription dating back to 100 CE where Gautamiputra states he comes from the Maratha Community . Over 100 inscriptions have been discovered of the Satavanhana where they call themselves Marathas. This makes them the first Maratha Empire.

Chhatrapati Shivaji was the first Maratha ruler. Before him, the region now known as Maharashtra was ruled by the Muslim sultans and partly by Mughal rulers. Before them, this region was ruled by Yadavas, before them Kalyan Chalukya, before them Rashtrakutas, all from Karnataka. Hence Maharashtrians are so proud of Chhatrapati Shivaji.
All Maharashtrians were kannada speaking people but later due to prakrit language influence it gave new birth to new language called Marathi which was another devnagari language

Marathas weakened India significantly by fighting everyone around them, ruined internal trade, attacked Bengal, which at that time was India's financial hub. This was the biggest reason the British was able to grab Bengal in 1757, and start a chain reaction which made India totally miserable over the following 200 years. Marathis can satisfy their egos by being proud of this, but objective historians look at history differently.

सातवाहन महाराष्ट्र पर शासन करने वाला पहला क्षत्रिय मराठा राजवंश था। सातवाहनों की मुख्य राजधानी प्रतिष्ठानपूरी यानी आज के महाराष्ट्र के छत्रपति संभाजी नगर का गोदावरी नदी के तट पर बसा हुआ पैठण शहर थी। और ऊपराजधानी जीर्णनगर यानी पुणे जिले में स्थित जुन्नर शहर थी। आज के मराठों के 96 कुल में सालवे, भोईटे, शिर्के इन कुल के लोग सातवाहनों के वंशज है।
