Here's a good tip i've heard- BUY a cheap suitcase at the thrift in LA, THEN pay to check it on the way home. That way you won't be paying checked bag fees twice!
YES!!! We have an American Airlines card and get one free checked bag to begin with, so I think I’m going to use that!!!

I had a good experience at the bins in LA. Most of the thrift stores were expensive and not the best brands. I’d recommend staying away from downtown and going to towns closer to the beach for seeing things.

April was the 2nd best month that I had in the past 12 months and I was on vacation for 15 days in April. I was on vacation from 3rd and arrived 17th. I ran some 30% sales throughout the month and it was pretty awesome. I only sell on poshmark, so I had my son mail out items while I was on vacation and while I was on vacation, I was sourcing. The #1 month from the past year was last July, I hope that I don't have those summer slow downs.
April 1st was my best day ever and April was one of my best months. I love garage sale season!!
Ahhhh that’s amazing!!! I’m so happy for you! I typically don’t have the best luck with traditional garage sales, but one can hope, right?
When i visit my sister and i source in her area she loves me and will create 5lbs listings on poshmark and sell me my inventory for pennies with free shipping. Just another idea if you have someone willing to do this for you. She's a reseller too so we love using this method of we're going to the post office regularly anyways.
There's a thrift store called Jet Rag that has $1 parking lot sales on Sundays
My suggestion for LA is pray and pack! lol enjoy have fun wear something over your shoe soles if walking around I lived in LA for years glad I moved

The bins in Glendale are FANTASTIC! The biggest bins in CA, I think the cashier said they have 80 that they flip over every hour and a half or so?

I used booth. Mark down sales & coupons. I usually use the mark down for items that I want to get rid of. More off better sales. And then I will sometimes put my new items at 10% off. I use the coupons a lot for people that have bought from me. I usually use 20% off so they will repeat buy. I find bigger discount does better. 10% off does not really work. The coupon I find does work well. Sometimes I will make one and share it through my Pinterest board. This helps a lot. Anything that is 1/2 year old I give a deep discount. I do this because I don’t have a lot of storage room and I like to keep inventory moving in and out. I only run it for a week. Then don’t run a sale for 2 or 3 days then put the sale back on. Sometimes at the same discount sometimes changing the discount slightly.
I think the IRS has a method of deprecistion for clothing and goods like clothing.
You could tell how old the item is by the blue wall background 😅

It varies, but it’s typically along the lines of “thanks for checking out my closet! I’m running a 50% off sale until _____ on everything in my closet. Throw everything you’re interested in into the bundle, leave the comment “done” when you’re finished, and I’ll send you the offer with discounted shipping!”

Hi Becky, truly appreciated the eBay tutorial. I’ve been following you since Covid. That being said, I just have a quick question/suggestion. Idk if it’s as valuable to know where the item came from as much as how long it took to sell. For your seasoned watchers, we’ve heard I think every scenario. I know that sometimes it’s the first time for some but for a lot of us it’s not. Just a suggestion but can you spend more time on how long you’ve had the item vs where it came from? I’m just one viewer buy maybe others feel the same🤷🏾♀️??

@@beckyparkco I like going to Goodwill in Glendale on Glenoaks. I’ve found many designer brands there. Parking isn’t great. There’s another Goodwill a few blocks away on San Fernando Rd./Sonora. There are a few thrift stores on Magnolia in Burbank. There’s a Goodwill there, too. It can be hit or miss with brands, though. Driving on the westside can be a drag and there is a lot of traffic; so I focus more on the San Fernando Valley. I also like a little Goodwill in Montrose (on Honolulu Blvd). La Cañada is a ritzy suburb, next to Montrose and they get a lot of high quality brands there. Just got Burberry flips flops there last week.
I see you are already getting great suggestions for thrifting. So I will add one of my favorite places to take my kids - LA Tar Pits! In the middle of downtown LA are bubbling puddles of tar and they excavate them to find ice age skeletons (woolly mammoths & more). Even adults find it fascinating. Other museums close by Peterson (autos) & LA county museum of art. So make a day of it!
i know! i did 40% for a long weekend and sent it to 5k people. I had two buyers. Ugh!!
