This is something else: people judging Polunin with a haughty air while it's him who has already accomplished more they ever will. "Minuscule mistakes here and there..." Ridiculous. One has to give it to him for apparently being able to keep everything in perspective and being quite level-headed, unlike what the media have said about him.
Well, i saw a few small mistakes here and there too. But Vassiliev do many of those small mistakes here and there too. I didn't know, if the will give him 9,5 or 10 because of that, but i was happy to see, they gave 10 AND they mention the small mistakes. When the wouldn't do it, i think Polunin and the dance world would think, those judges are stupid or blind. So i think it was fully right to say it.
He is beautiful !! Hate seeing him in this sort of competition - so demeaning . Did he have to do this sort of thing to get recognition in Russia after leaving the Royal Ballet ? How incredibly stupid to try and have a conversation with him straight after that dance .
This competition takes the best dancers of the best companies of Russland. All competitors are the best dances, so you can almost sy, the best dancers in the world. The girl dancing with him is a russian soloist and principal dancer, she don't need any special recognition ! But for Polunin it was probably an important step after his coming back to Russia.
Fantastic! A really amazing dancer! But though I know this costume is the tradition for this ballet I find it horrible, I'm expecting to see Jane and Cheetah at any moment :-) Edit: In my opinion he looks much better without the tatto in his chest.
