Poyer and hyde both belong on the ring in the new stadium
This could very well be the best defense that McDermott has had with the Bills. The fact that most of the Defense will have several years in "the system" will be significant. Bills 12-5 with a trip to the AFC Championship (at a minimum)

No way is it going to be better than the first 11 games with von.
The Bills defensive ends are my biggest concern this season. I do not see Von Miller being consistent enough (available and effective) to take the pressure off Epenesa and Groot. This is a big season for Groot as he's at that place where the Bills will need to decide how much he gets paid and for how long. Epenesa is solid yet unspectacular. Solomon, Toohill, Kingsley are all wild cards. Lots to be concerned and curious about.
@@user-gr1gy9rq4h Von will be back to 90% of his prime. He has his quick twitch back. His quickness is what makes him special. He will make a huge impact again this year. Remember, this was his 2nd ACL tear. He knows what he is doing. He will once again be the closer on 3rd down.

@derrickharris6932 his athletic ability, Sean McDermott as one of his coachs, and the fact that beane said they were willing to move up in the draft to get him if they had to. Also this time of year how many defensive players do you hear about?

One thing that still hasn't changed is Elam has by far the highest ceiling of any of our cb's and it's not even close. I hope they can get him there this year and he's our number one cb going into next year.
When he plays he either shows out or falls just short, but when he’s short he’s right there, he’s not a bad player he’s young and with developing like he has I completely agree.

Could rapp and bishop be Milano and Bernard, where we were confused as to why we drafted Milano 2.0 when we needed a edmunds replacement, but then found out that schematicly the bills wanted 2 Milano type players. So it seems odd that we already have a thumper safety in Rapp, and then drafted bishop who is similar, but maybe thats what the team wants is 2 thumper type safteys.
He's more about tue future, Rapp won't be here after 2yrs imo

I'm excited about Kair Elam. You said he looked good so far. He has the most physical ability of the three, could he be a day 1 starter? Is there a path that has Bishop and Hamlin as the starters?
Very excited about this entire team! Hoping Elam can prove he's a starter this year or else I'm afraid he could be trade bait but the positional coaching change makes me believe this franchise is really trying to make him work or this could be a who new defense altogether, hoping Bobby can prove himself to McDermott that he can be trusted to call plays very interested to see what his style and vision is. Clearly losing Hyer & Poyd is a HUGE loss, but McDermott has already shown us that he has a plan a)., b). AND c). in the past. No way he neglects the backbone of his defense. Imagine when he molds Rapp into a calculated & controlled aggressive player (you know, not blasting his own teammates and whatnot), that’s his enforcer right there. Veteran Mike Edwards can probably hold it down until Bishop develops. Excited about Bishop too. Bills are great at developing players. Especially on the defensive side.
Most athletic defense in Buffalo in years. It give them a chance to go man on defense they just couldn’t do before. On a side note I hope in short yardage situations occasionally they use Kincaid in the backfield with Allen in shotgun. Knox as an in line blocker and Coleman Claypool and Hopkins out wide. Love to see if defenses go small, base 2 deep or try to match up man.

Yeah I really don’t understand the situation with Kkair. Kid can play and he needed time on the field. How else is he to get better? Seems like he was in the doghouse for maybe the way he handled Christian getting the start over him? Although, he had never shown that publicly.
Elam has shown he is a playmaker..he IS the X factor among our dbs..

I think Joe laid it out pretty well regarding the status of Douglas and Elam in the near future. As he says, “The book is definitely not closed on Khair Elam”. Also, speaks to my comment about McDermott (and Beane for sure), about having a solid plan even when it is not immediately apparent.

I think the D will be younger, healthier and fresher but I wonder how long it takes for the continuality to form especially with the safeties. It was time to move on from Hyde/Poyer, but they played so well together. Go Bills!

Strongly disagree. FS is a weakness, but corner is a strength. The LBs are great, and the DL has talent, if not a single dominant pass rusher. WR is a weakness to, but they have a top 5 OL and a strong running game. This is a 10 win team. Relax.
