There were 3 fragrances I was planning to send to you as a gift at the end of July that was on this list, and Anooj beat me to it. 😊 Gifts like these are big memories we make in fragcom and throughout our lives! Grigio Perla Touch reminds me of Le Male. I also have Grigio Perla Grigio Perla, which has Drakkar Noir similarities. I got the sense the house was making dupes of popular fragrances but just my guess. Too bad company doesn’t make fragrances anymore. Haven’t tried any of their other fragrances but I like both Touch and Grigio Perla. Waiting to get my hands on the Marbert Man. I have a vintage aftershave balm and even that is potent. Keep up the great content.

Hello friend. I have a question... How come when you do your unboxings you dont give some kind of first impressions? Such a fun part of the fragrance journey. Im sure we all know, we smell a fragrance for the first time, hate it, only to come back around and have it be one of our favorites after spending some time with it. Would love to hear your first impressions on stuff.

Disney virtue-signaling.....who knew? As someone who grew up 8 minutes from Disneyland it's heartbreaking what that company has become, but Ram's point is interesting. I see my love of vintage fragrance not so much as "chasing nostalgia" as much loving the art and the warm feelings I derive from great perfumery. They didn't put limits (see IFRA) on their creativity, and it shows in so many of these masterpieces.
Yes for me it's all tied together... if we lived in this world of "gotcha" for thinking something unapproved by TPTB no one would have been as creative back then, I think it's all tied together
But for me it's not Nostalgia as I wasn't alive, it's more experiencing a part the world that has "moved on" since I was born and this is my way of living with it and experiencing it .... but obviously the art form and smells and ingredients are what counts... just an interesting observation
BTW Seth Godin wrote a book called Permission Marketing... where he says we give these companies permission to do this or that... that your attention is worth something, well I don't give them my permission to bend the knee to the virtue signaling woke mind virus, get your stuff together Disney and every other Disney like company ....more of us need to opt out and remove our permission or loudly protest out indignation at being targeted for indoctrination by the ex companies turned propaganda centers
@@RamseytheRam I think The Ram and I see the World the same way. I was around when most of these masterpieces were made, but when you're a kid/teen fragrance isn't really a hobby or an interest, though I had a few gems. Maybe we're waking up to the manipulation and propaganda. I hope so.
I really don’t think that Disney’s disclaimers has anything to do with a Mea Culpa to any marginalized communities. It’s them reading the room from a money making standpoint. My parents were born in the 30s. At that time there wasn’t much media to consume. Disney had captive audiences. Now kids have multitudes of media vying for their attention.
I think similar reasoning is why the perfume industry isn’t turning out anything creative. They prefer profits over art. As a society we over corrected in regard to allowing people to grow up before taking on adult roles. Military personnel were much younger in the past and in the 50s/60s there were several songs about much older men in relationships with 16 year olds. Now people are waiting until there 30s to truly grow up. So, they don’t want to wear “grandma and grandpa” fragrances. Which in reality are just fragrances that adults wear.
@@pjeffuller I suspect for the most part you are correct. They went for the ESG/DEI cash grab, but in the process paid a much larger price both financially and in ruining one of the greatest corporate brands in the history of American Business. They may be pivoting, and perhaps they'll lean back into the company Walt founded. With regard to fragrances, I've never bought into the idea of "old or youthful". Something is good, or it isn't. The rest is just a product of marketing.
