IIRC, these interview inserts were first broadcast on New Years Day 1994, when TNT was beginning to run TWWW. I used to stay up late during summer in my teens during the late 70s to watch syndicated reruns on a local TV station - I think episodes started at midnight - so I was excited about TNT's plan. Unfortunately, I was driving all day on that New Years Day heading to a new job. But my mother, who watched it and got me hooked when I was 5 or 6, came through for me, and recorded the marathon on a VCR and then mailed the tapes tpo me at my new apartment. Thanks Mom!
This is my favourite program of all time! As a kid, I never missed an episode! I have bought all the videos and always enjoy watching them over and over again. Loved Robert Conrad and Ross Martin! What a show! No other series will ever come close to this one!
I discovered this show in the fall of 1995 when TNT began airing the reruns. I'm pretty sure the 10-show Loveless marathon was what they used to kick off the whole thing. I became instantly hooked through those Saturday morning reruns (preceded by, if I recall correctly, "How The West Was Won" and followed by "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr."). Thank you TNT for bringing this back!
I was and still am, watching re-runs...a huge fan! Thank you, Robert Conrad, for great shows and fight scenes. You and Bruce Lee were the reason I started my exercise programs. I'm currently 54yrs old and still can kick ass. Lol...
My favorite show of all time... My favorite show when I was a kid and still my favorite show of all time 50 years later... Robert Conrad was the perfect actor to play James West... Love everything about the show from the opening theme to the closing theme and everything in between
a huge thank you to Mr. Conrad-your series is still very entertaining-thanks to you and your co-stars/co-workers for taking the time and inventing the wonderful action sequences.
I have great memories of watching this when I was 3 or so with my mom and dad. The show was so unique and had alot of good story lines, they just can't make shows like this anymore. I feel so lucky that I grew up in a time where there were so many good tv shows that children could watch with their parents. Most if not all the shows back then had charm and imagination, sadly that is something that the shows of today have none of.
Robert Conrad was, without a doubt, the most handsome man to come out of H'wood (sorry Tyrone Power, Rock Hudson, Harrison Ford). Perfect features (unbelievably so) and physique. Most beautiful corn flower blue eyes..gave off a manly energy without being overly intimidating about it. Fine actor too--real charisma. WWW a classic fun, stylish show. Made 1870's American West positively glamorous!
@windstorm1000, No disrespect to Will Smith he could never replace Robert Conrad in the Wild Wild West. I understand Will Smith has to make money but still Robert Conrad will always be the James West.
Martin once said that the Artemus Gordon character was originally intended to be a lot darker and more "noir"-liken than he ended up -- a master of disguise and misdirection, a former actor with a shady past -- one could never quite trust him or know which side he was on, even Jim would never know for syre whether he wasn't on some secret agenda of his own . . . I love the character as Gordon eventually played it, but I admit that the original idea (if that's what it was) intrigues me greatly.
Ross Martin was my very 1st favorite actor. Admired him when I was a kid growing up in the reruns. A major inspiration on me. Still is a great actor. I have all 4 seasons of the Wild Wild West on DVD.
Artie had the countenance of compassion & friendliness written all over his face. He was absolutely great alongside James West! I guess we could characterize his character as part chameleon, but mostly racoon. Chameleon because of his penchant for transformation, but mostly racoon because of his wit, humor, cleverness, slyness, & tendency to "hide behind a mask".
Artie, while in disguise, had this Charming Jester - Charming Trickster kind of quality to him...great character!
We used to watch this serie here in Colombia on 1976. The tv show was broadcasted on Fridays at 11 p.m. What a nice time. I was 13 years old and never failed on watching it. Thanks a lot for letting me remember this tv show. Greetings from Cali, Colombia South America !!
How good was this show? This was the only U.S.-made mainstream adult drama/entertainment television show that could put it to the best of the British high brow/high camp drama/melodrama entertainments. The U.K. had the Avengers, America had the Wild Wild West. It was that good. It was sophisticated. It was funny. It was clever, smart - and as Conrad says, unique: 'there had never been a show like that before, or since.' And he's totally correct. It was just brilliant.
As a kid, my mother's parents lived with us, and my Grandpa was all about cowboy shows, but he hated the 'tomfoolery' of the Wild Wild West. I remember watching the show where Robert Conrad swung and slipped off the chandelier. I said to my Grandpa, 'How did West get right up from that fall from the chandelier?' My Grandpa told me that Conrad was probably hurt bad, and the show was finished when he recuperated. It turns out that Robert Conrad was seriously injured and spent a lot of time in the hospital.
The "tomfoolery" is what fascinated me as a kid -- along with the great fights and stunts. The season was cut short a few episodes after that bad fall Conrad took in that scene.
Fantastic show!! Was in grade school when it came out, looked forward to it every week. Time passes so quickly, wish our country was doing as good today as it was then. Make America great again this I believe can be done once again.
I loved watching this program in the early 80's in Brazil. Me and my beloved brother, who has passed away, used to watch it until late night. James West was a sort of James Bond of the Wild West with his looks and gadgets (great gadgets btw). Great series, thanks.
BEST TV WESTERN OF ITS TIME AND FOR EVER !!. ACTION , ADVENTURE, DRAMA , GOOD STORY LINES , SOME OLD FASHIONED TECHNOLOGY. ❤️ LOVELY LADIES AND A GREAT PARTNER MR. GORDON !!. OR ROSS MARTIN !!. AND ROBERT DID 99% OF HIS OWN STUNDS !!!. WHAT MORE CAN U ASK FOR !!!!. 😎🇺🇸😎❤️👍👍👍👍👍🌹🌺🥀🚀...
My brother and I got to stay up half an hour later on Fridays to watch Wild Wild West! A highlight of our week that always came with a teaser for next time that would have us anxiously awaiting the upcoming show.
I never missed this show as a kid. Loved the fact that Conrad did all his own stunts and loved the gagetry he used. Great show.....one of my all time favorites!
This was my all time favorite show as a kid. To this day if I need a test name for a document or computer data base, it is always James West. Just watching this You Tube video put a big smile on my face. Thanks
+Michael Spano One of the best things about it was the science fiction aspect of the show. Michealito Loveless would have machines, robots, and inventions, that went way beyond the "dusty old hat and six gun" rawhide, paladin, bonanza, rifleman, gun-smoke, trash!
+Arthur Cabral -- That was the original concept -- 007-type action & gadgets in a Jules Verne-inspired Old West. Beyond that, I really enjoyed the creepy, atmospheric Gothic horror stories - TNOT Simian Terror, Bleak Island, Sedgewick Curse, Man-Eating House, et al., that was so unlike anything else on TV at the time.
+jlovebirch The best episode would have been James West steps into a big aluminum box with light bulbs all over it, and KAzzAPP-Wap-Wap! - He finds himself the wing leader of "Baa-Baa-Black-Sheep squadron"! - Flying Consolidated AC - F4-U "Corsairs" fighting the Japanese in the Pacific during World War Two!
Wonderful ode to the ineffable Robert Conrad..truly one of the most charismatic gentleman television screen idols of all times. Such a treat to find this video and welcome Mr. Conrad back into my screen. Thank you. It is a part of history as the star says, that was ground breaking then and has been ground breaking ever since. Never to be topped. "Purple heart of wounded warriors."
LOVE ♥️THE WILD WILD WEST !!!! [ FREE ON , U- TUBE ] .GREAT ACTION FOR , ITS TIME .❤☠❤⚘R.I.P.⚘[ ROBERT CONRAD ] ....HE , OPEN THE DOOR .FOR [ MARTIAL ARTS ) ..🙏🤜🙏.....THEN , ( BRUCE LEE ) ⚘😎⚘....
I remember seeing this show for the first time in 1966 at my girlfriend's house when it was in its second season-- her brother was watching it so I figured it was another "boy" tv show (like "Fury" "Combat" etc) - until I took a look. Was I ever wrong especially when I saw Mr. Robert Conrad for the first time--Puberty Rush!!!!
He was 5'8" and he said he was proud of it. He was born in Chicago, IL. I am a Chicagoan. Robert Conrad and Ross Martin are both Polish-born Americans.
RC did his own stunt. RM did his own disguise. The women were beautiful. All outfits were classic. Special gadgets were of intrigue. Bad guys and gals beware. A good show.
I used to watch this series with my dad. I subsequently purchased the CDs to share with my dad who lives states away from me. I thought it a great way to share time together!! I am looking forward to sharing this time in a timely manner with him!!!
I used to be crazy about the wild wild west, as a child in the 70s..wattching it in Benin City .Its a classic and i am pleased to see it on you tube. Takes me down memory lane .
Ever since this video appeared on UA-cam and I saw it, there has not been a single day that I don't watch it at least once. How much more can a fan like an actor and a program about him more than this?
Classic for the ages, Radical, innovative, baddies, all prior 007, need marathon on Decades TV, MeTV. Loved his private RR train.Sleeve gun, hidden devices, silencer sounding Colt 45 etc from then 60s Tech. Never recall this on TNT then.
What a great video!! What a great treat!!! A rarely opportunity to see Robert Conrad speaking about this series decades after he made it. Thank you for posting it.
MUCH RESPECT TO YOU ROB...MY DAD ALWAYS LIKED YOU BECASUE HE SAID YOU DID YOUR OWN STUNTS....I LOVED THE WILD WILD WEST AND AS A KID I WAS SO FUCKING PISSED OFF WHEN THEY PULLED YOUR SHOW...I MEAN FUCKING PISSED OFF...THE GREEN HORNET WAS ANOTHER....I LIKED THAT YOUR SHOW HAD DIVERSITY IN IT...AT A TIME WHEN MANY SHOWS HAD NONE....
I remember watching this show in syndication as a very little kid, and then rediscovering it as an adult in the 90s. Bob Conrad always fascinated me; he had a great hair-do, was very handsome, and had an awesome physique on that show!
When Ross Martin disappeared from the show for awhile my mom read some gossip that Robert Conrad and him had big argument. I read a few years ago Martin was out for awhile because he had a heart attack. The people that made the show didn't want that public to know because they thought it make him seem weak or less masculine or some shit like that.
They used to look out for the actors, but now they tell the public everything about actors. Ross Martin in season 4, if you notice had lost a little weight. He had a heart attack and was only in season 4 in certain episodes. Robert Conrad and Ross Martin were friends. They loved each other like brothers.
Your Right, They Don't Make Shows Like This Anymore. I Just Couldn't Get Into The Movie Remake Of The Wild Wild West, I guess It's Because Robert Conrad Wasn't Starring In It.
Star Trek/ Battlestar Galactica writer Ron Moore said he had wanted to a "reboot" of WWW but thankfully never got the chance. One disastrous reboot of WWW was enough!
The fact that Conrad performed 99 percent of his stunt work on the show greatly enhanced the quality and enjoyment of the Wild Wild West. It is unfortunate that a better theatrical film was not made based on the series. It is rather tragic that Bob Conrad suffered severe and disabling physical injuries in a motor vehicle accident approximately ten years ago and has curtailed his film and television work, although he does host a radio talk show.
That is actually true; the Gilligan lagoon was used by many shows, including The Man from UNCLE. In this scene Dunn saved Phoebe Dorin from drowning when her dress got caught on the sinking prop boat. The main room in The Big Valley house with the big curving staircase was also used in every other West episode as well.
Thank you for posting these! I was in Programming at TNT at that time and was thrilled when I was able to secure TWWW for airing. Loved scheduling this marathon, especially! Glad that we got the interview with Conrad, too. Great to see these! Thanks for all the great work that you do bringing these treasures to us!
I remember meeting Bob Conrad on several occasions.. Also Red West who played in so many episodes, also top sergeant in BaaBaa Black Sheep Squadron....and a lot of Elvis movies....as a matter of fact Red's older brother lives with us, and wife takes care of him since he is 85 years old....The entire bunch are a real good class of men...So many, wicked stories to tell, WOW!!!!.....Oh, I still have my original Lost in Space, and Thunderbirds lunchbox....
As a big fan of this show , over the years watching reruns , once when they had this TNT marathon in 86';, one thing Conrad said about Ross Martin said on a talk show , if He did His own stunts as Conrad , an He came back with "no I do my own acting " . Conrad said He wasn't upset over that remark an had high standards for His late Co-star .
TNT Used To Have All Kinds Of Specials On TV Like The Wild Wild West, Outer Limits, Etc, But Sadly, TNT Is Dead Now Along With The Sci-Fi Channel. The Wild Wild West Was One Of Those Shows That I Grew Up On, And Never Will Forget. Robert Conrad Was A Fine Actor.
Love this show; I remember one day my dad and I were talking about it, then a while later, they had the marathon! :-) Now we're getting them on DVD :-)
An absolutely BRILLIANT TV show. One of a kind, with great scripts and actors, and decades ahead of its time. Steampunk before anybody else even though of the concept. And it went out on top. That's why it endures. My favourite Dr. Loveless episode was the one where he devised this really wild teleportation scheme using paintings of the target locations and a very elaborate sonic mechanical apparatus to power and direct the whole system. Mad science at its very limit of possibility.
Thanks for posting this! I remember when TNT added The Wild, Wild West and this promo piece, but haven't seen it in years. This was one of my all-time favorites growing up, and then watching again on TNT. Great to see Conrad remembering the good old days and talking about the behind-the-scenes!
Loved the show and Robert Conrad. I was saddened by his illness and death. He remains a legend in my heart and mind.
No doubt the BEST western tv show ever!!! RIP Robert Conrad
This is my favourite program of all time! As a kid, I never missed an episode! I have bought all the videos and always enjoy watching them over and over again. Loved Robert Conrad and Ross Martin! What a show! No other series will ever come close to this one!
this was by far one of the best tv programs around...Robert Conrad was and still is the ultimate hunk
I have all 4 seasons of the Wild Wild West on DVD 📀. Still enjoy watching them.
The shows in season 2 pushed the envelope for creativity. The writing was fantastic!
WWW was a GREAT show. The teaming of Robert Conrad and Ross Martin was PERFECT. As Robert Conrad said the two were "salt and pepper."
Loved it as a kid, LOVE it now!! ;)
I discovered this show in the fall of 1995 when TNT began airing the reruns. I'm pretty sure the 10-show Loveless marathon was what they used to kick off the whole thing. ROSS MARTIN AND ROBERT CONRAD, ARE IRREPLACEABLE. LOVE YOU BOTH, REST IN PEACE.
I was and still am, watching re-runs...a huge fan! Thank you, Robert Conrad, for great shows and fight scenes. You and Bruce Lee were the reason I started my exercise programs. I'm currently 54yrs old and still can kick ass. Lol...
All-time greatest TV show. Jim and Arte were the best. Tremendous chemistry.
Robert Conrad is the man! Loved him as Pappy Boyington in Black Sheep. Would love to sit and watch him as Jim West.
My favorite show of all time... My favorite show when I was a kid and still my favorite show of all time 50 years later... Robert Conrad was the perfect actor to play James West... Love everything about the show from the opening theme to the closing theme and everything in between
I feel the same way...love that show...but they sure messed up with the movie with Will Smith...totally
The only thing comparable was Star Trek. Both were fantastic shows!
Rick Jones I agree the movie sucked... The worst actor they could have possibly picked
trha2222 I love Bond movies but James West could really kick some ass
The opening theme left such an indelible impression on me as a kid.
a huge thank you to Mr. Conrad-your series is still very entertaining-thanks to you and your co-stars/co-workers for taking the time and inventing the wonderful action sequences.
Love this show! So original. Nothing like it before or ever again.
I have great memories of watching this when I was 3 or so with my mom and dad. The show was so unique and had alot of good story lines, they just can't make shows like this anymore. I loved this show as a kid! Western, spy, action, romance, villans! James West (Robert Conrad) was the man!
A great show. And Robert Conrad was a man's man.
@windstorm1000, No disrespect to Will Smith he could never replace Robert Conrad in the Wild Wild West. I understand Will Smith has to make money but still Robert Conrad will always be the James West.
Agreed. He was sexy as all get out. Incredible.
He looked very much like Clint Eastwood.
You were my Hero Mr Conrad and you got my through my child hood! Thankyou thankyou!!!
Robert Conrad is the coolest guy EVER.
Love this show as a kid and Robert Conard great actor
You people who don't know Robert Conrad should get up, go out, and get the series on DVD and watch it all day long.
Done. by all of us
Ross Martin, truly multi-faceted actor. Everybody on that show were very talented.
Love Ross--great great actor--mischievious, wise and vulnerable--and great impersonater of course. Indespensible part of the show.
Ross Martin RIP.
Ross Martin was my very 1st favorite actor. Admired him when I was a kid growing up in the reruns. A major inspiration on me. Still is a great actor. I have all 4 seasons of the Wild Wild West on DVD.
Robert Conrad was manhood at its best ! His looks , and class ... well made American man !
One of my all time favorite shows. Along with F-troop, Hawaii 5-0, Bonanza, The Virginian, Have Gun will Travel, I can go on.
Robert Conrad will always be the only,"James West" thanks for the upload.
The Wild Wild West was a great deal for me when i was young and still is in fact ;)
What an amazing show! Thanks Robert Conrad
We used to watch this serie here in Colombia on 1976. The tv show was broadcasted on Fridays at 11 p.m. What a nice time. I was 13 years old and never failed on watching it. Thanks a lot for letting me remember this tv show. Greetings from Cali, Colombia South America !!
Back in the days of my childhood, this was one of my all time favorite show.
R.I.P Robert Conrad, Ross Martin, and others who did Wild Wild West
How good was this show? It was clever, smart - and as Conrad says, unique: 'there had never been a show like that before, or since.' And he's totally correct. It was just brilliant.
couldn't use one more adjective about show--you said it all--loved it as kid--adored Dr. Loveless.
You guys created something that so many people, like my father ,husband and myself, love watching over and over again!!!
As a kid, my mother's parents lived with us, and my Grandpa was all about cowboy shows, but he hated the 'tomfoolery' of the Wild Wild West. I remember watching the show where Robert Conrad swung and slipped off the chandelier. I said to my Grandpa, 'How did West get right up from that fall from the chandelier?' That works for me too. I wouldn't mind a modern day James West kicking some ISIS butt these days.
Yes.
Great cast great show
I loved watching this program in the early 80's in Brazil. Me and my beloved brother, who has passed away, used to watch it until late night. James West was a sort of James Bond of the Wild West with his looks and gadgets (great gadgets btw). Great series, thanks.

When there was greatness on TV.
I never missed this show as a kid. Loved the fact that Conrad did all his own stunts and loved the gagetry he used. Great show.....one of my all time favorites!

The Wild Wild West was a combination of 007 James Bond and a kick-ass western. Robert Conrad and Ross Martin were great!
It was John Wayne and 007. As good as it gets.

One of the BEST of the GOLDEN AGE of TV!
Best legendary movie 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I remember seeing this show for the first time in 1966 at my girlfriend's house when it was in its second season-- her brother was watching it so I figured it was another "boy" tv show (like "Fury" "Combat" etc) - until I took a look. Was I ever wrong especially when I saw Mr. Robert Conrad for the first time--Puberty Rush!!!!
He was 5'8" and he said he was proud of it. He was born in Chicago, IL. I am a Chicagoan. Robert Conrad and Ross Martin are both Polish-born Americans.

Great show absolutely the best TV show of all time in my opinion... it had it all and Robert Conrad is a great actor...one of the few
Mr Conrad is an amazing man and a magnificent actor
I love the original also. James west in the original fought like a wild cat. They couldn't handle him. He also looked good in those pants.
Cherokee Rose Agnes Thomas
You got that right, sister!
I'd have climbed him like a tree!
the man of cool Robert Conrad my hero
RC did his own stunt. RM did his own disguise. The women were beautiful. All outfits were classic. Special gadgets were of intrigue. Bad guys and gals beware. A good show.
Robert Conrad is the definition of OG. I was raised on WWW and though I like both Smith and Kline, that movie was an insult to a legend.
I used to watch this series with my dad. I subsequently purchased the CDs to share with my dad who lives states away from me. I thought it a great way to share time together!! I am looking forward to sharing this time in a timely manner with him!!!
Great show from my childhood. Robert Conrad was and is awesome as was the whole cast and crew. Wow! Great posting. Love W W West t.v. show. Thank you!
Amazing show with great actors and action.

There's two shows that I loved to watch and still do from back then..1 The Lone Ranger 2 The Wild Wild West... both are number one shows in my book ❤
Great actor and great show.
love this show as a kid, especially the episodes with the evil Dr. Loveless
Loved this show as a kid.

Mr. Conrad looks so good even in the 1990s. IN Wild Wild West he is the most handsome and sexy man ever lived.
man, he looks fantastique! old Conrad is still a role model. gotta' love him.
Love this show. Every boy grew up with that TV character he always wanted to be; I always wanted to be James West. Thanks for the memories.
When Ross Martin disappeared from the show for awhile my mom read some gossip that Robert Conrad and him had big argument.

Great action, good guys and bad guys. Good morals.
Star Trek/ Battlestar Galactica writer Ron Moore said he had wanted to a "reboot" of WWW but thankfully never got the chance. One disastrous reboot of WWW was enough!
I like action ... I always watched the program ....
I always looked forward to this show every week.

Were u guys doing the marathon for the Will Smith movie?
I remember meeting Bob Conrad on several occasions..
Also Red West who played in so many episodes, also top sergeant in BaaBaa
Black Sheep Squadron....and a lot of Elvis movies....as a matter of fact
Red's older brother lives with us, and wife takes care of him since he is 85
years old....The entire bunch are a real good class of men...So many,
wicked stories to tell, WOW!!!!.....Oh, I still have my original Lost in Space, and Thunderbirds lunchbox....
As a big fan of this show , over the years watching reruns , once when they had this TNT marathon in 86';, one thing Conrad said about Ross Martin said on a talk show , if He did His own stunts as Conrad , an He came back with "no I do my own acting " . Conrad said He wasn't upset over that remark an had high standards for His late Co-star .
wow, Robert Conrad is still a very handsome and attractive man after 3 decades of Wild Wild West
Great to see this as I think about meeting Robert Conrad at The Hollywood Show in L.A. in January. Thanks for posting it!
Love this show; I remember one day my dad and I were talking about it, then a while later, they had the marathon! :-) Now we're getting them on DVD :-)
real shows...loved it.
Great show! Loved that scene of Migalito(?) and girl "drowning" in the two foot Gilligan lagoon.
Great to see Conrad remembering the good old days and talking about the behind-the-scenes!
hell yeah!, "The Wild Wild West" was ons of the shows!
Keep it up. You are doing us a great service.
