(which i've never really liked... it implies you thought i was dead, as if i could only exist online... i dunno, it just makes me sad. i exist beyond making things) or basically acting like i'm a music machine designed to please specifically them. this isn't to say all comments are like this, but it can be pretty eroding to encounter people who don't realize how uncaring they're being because they're just used to it. i've been struggling a lot with my mental health, but have gotten more of a grasp on understanding OCD lately, so that has been nice... sort of. there's a lot i can say, but i've no idea what i actually want to say here i kind of feel like i "have" to say something, because it's been so long? i dunno anyway, i wrote a lot of thoughts in the cohost link above, but also i wanted to mention i have been thinking of making a discord server i have been thinking of doing so for a while because i think it would be nice to feel more able to share my work and engage with others without feeling like i need to be constantly inundated in the fast pace of social media (part of why i really just use cohost now, because it feels like i can just write things or post things and not really worry about metrics... or in twitters case, a rich guy running everything into the ground) this most likely won't be happening any time soon also, since it would be /my/ server, i would want to make sure the culture in the server is comfortable for me. i don't like a lot of things that are common online (such as the way people treat characters and media in general... it feels very entitled to me, and i would really, really want people to treat things with respect in my server, especially my own characters and stories), so i imagine there's probably going to be a period of adjustment or culture shock... i'm not a very fast-paced person-- or rather, it's not healthy for me to be a very fast-paced person i have been trying to care more about my boundaries and comfort, especially after learning that my OCD gets worse when i don't support my own boundaries, so... i guess i'm writing this to be clear that my server, if i make it, will be really particular about being for me, rather than a server that is like... i guess more oriented for an audience. i've heard about artists who make a discord and then their audience gets really entitled to them, as if the artist owes them things?? and i really am not here for this, lol i am a person who makes music and draws, and you are someone who presumably enjoys my work (and you may even make your own work). that is the state of our connection. there is nothing i owe you (unless like, you're commissioning me for art and i've agreed to the commission? which, i think i got through all my commissions and that's also different, because we both made a mutual agreement. speaking of which i should probably link to those: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScCs7sums5T_ZHGT1l1CRmLsgt_nDJQ0y4Ey3KUwLPmnZ8FHw/viewform ) if you do join my (eventual) server, you're someone who agreed to the rules in the server... not someone who i owe art to or owe attention to or something? if you feel entitled to something from me because you like my work, please don't join my server. i will get hurt and i do not want to get hurt. here's some thoughts i had on treating art as something to be consumed which elaborates on feelings i've had in relation to seeing fans of creators act entitled towards creators cohost.org/pengosolvent/post/2995784-treating-art-as-some (it's a long read) i suppose for the person who is worried that i feel creators can just run rampant and hurt others: i register sometimes creators do use their positions to harm others. that's not what i'm talking about when i say "there is nothing i owe you" i am specifically talking about people who act like they are owed attention, art, for the creator to justify every little piece of their life and share all their secrets and dreams with them, so on. if you haven't encountered these sort of people, that's awesome and sincerely i hope you don't encounter them. i have, and they're painful to be around and i hope they change. anyway, i'm going to keep thinking over this. one last thing: if you don't see me talking about the discord server here on youtube or on cohost, then the server isn't mine. i've had people impersonate me before, and i want to be clear that i don't have a personal server yet. if you've encountered anyone running a server related to me, it's done without approval and i most likely do not know them. please stay safe.

It would be ridiculous to think that there is such a thing as a "music machine". You're an adult with a life of your own, and you're a person with feelings like we do. your music feels more realistic than others, as surreal and complex as it gets, just like feelings, Feelings are the most real surreal thing you can experience in your life, I think. Your songs helped me when I was having hard times, I don't know how, I guess surrealism makes you feel more real?? king deer is the album that has a lot of my favorites of yours in, so seeing a mix of it makes me really happy! also, i remember you mentioning at one point its connected to bravo cat in some way, and now the fact that they both have mixes (amusingly both around 12 mins long lol) ties them together even more, which i think is really cool

I never identified with any music until I found yours, so your music helped me form something of an identity when I was struggling with such things. Now I'm 25, and I prefer other types of music, but I still appreciate your songs, and the work you put into both the music and art. Thanks for producing them.
Ive been listening to your music for about a year now, I feel like your music really helped me really connect with feelings that have been repressed for years and years. In good ways and bad. There are songs of yours where I had to take a break from listening due to them bringing out some intense pain about the past. But I still listened to a lot of your other songs that brought out some good feelings! Ever since I got into your music, It really has changed me. I never really thought music would really bring out feelings I thought i'd never really feel. A lot of other artistsI listened to they never brought out any sort of feelings. It was really just me thinking about how good it sounded. When I listened to your music in 2022, It was probably one of the highlights of my life so far. My Dysmythia was not affecting me at that time and I could really feel a lot. I think your music had a part in helping that too (not entirely ofc, I had other things a part of it too.) Im having a hard time accepting change right now. Because my Dysthymia has been back and it has been really bad. Which is kind of a reason why I had to stop listening to some of your songs because it really reminded me of something that was gone and something that no matter how hard I would try to get back, it wouldn't be the same. There are other reasons too. But I really do not want to share that part on the internet because it feels wrong and also its a sensitive subject. I listened to your Bravocat album in 2022. I knew every song from that album including Bravoclap. I started going to your other albums. Then I went to Kingdeer. But I will explore and find one that I enjoy! As I was getting more into your work, I wanted to know about the little characters in the drawings that you had posted in the songs. The one that really caught my eye and I think you already know this, But it was squorb. I really love his design and think hes very cute. I don't know everything about Squorb and I didn't want to get myself attached to him because... Why get attached to something that you don't even entirely know about? A gorgeous synthesis of the album and it's themes. Reading the blog post makes me wish I'd known where to go for the comics / looked a bit closer at the album art and asked about Mainor ("the trianglehead") While I missed meanings or misinterpreted them at times, the gradual release of the album came at a very... discordant and unpleasant time in my life, and gave me solace each time a song dropped. Its always a joy to see your work, whether it be in the form of auditory or visual art. There's always some intent put into the lyricism and the art alike. Deeply glad to see you're still around, and thank you for the kind words and hope alike that exists within a number of your songs.

king deer is the album that has a lot of my favorites of yours in, so seeing a mix of it makes me really happy! also, i remember you mentioning at one point its connected to bravo cat in some way, and now the fact that they both have mixes (amusingly both around 12 mins long lol) ties them together even more, which i think is really cool

Tangential friend, Hyljest' prison, Toymaker's Intent, entre otras, son algunas de las que más que revisito. Quizá porque tienen ese aire tan nostálgico y único. Hey Pengo, just wanted to leave a comment and say that I've been listening to your music for the last 11 years or so. I'm 25 now, but when I was 14 your music helped me through some hard times. I never identified with any music until I found yours, so your music helped me form something of an identity when I was struggling with such things.
Now I'm 25, and I prefer other types of music, but I still appreciate your songs, and the work you put into both the music and art. Thanks for producing them.
Ive been listening to your music for about a year now, I feel like your music really helped me really connect with feelings that have been repressed for years and years. In good ways and bad. There are songs of yours where I had to take a break from listening due to them bringing out some intense pain about the past. But I still listened to a lot of your other songs that brought out some good feelings! Ever since I got into your music, It really has changed me. I never really thought music would really bring out feelings I thought i'd never really feel. A lot of other artistsI listened to they never brought out any sort of feelings. It was really just me thinking about how good it sounded. When I listened to your music in 2022, It was probably one of the highlights of my life so far. My Dysmythia was not affecting me at that time and I could really feel a lot. I think your music had a part in helping that too (not entirely ofc, I had other things a part of it too.) Im having a hard time accepting change right now. Because my Dysthymia has been back and it has been really bad. Which is kind of a reason why I had to stop listening to some of your songs because it really reminded me of something that was gone and something that no matter how hard I would try to get back, it wouldn't be the same. There are other reasons too. But I really do not want to share that part on the internet because it feels wrong and also its a sensitive subject. I listened to your Bravocat album in 2022. I knew every song from that album including Bravoclap. I started going to your other albums. Then I went to Kingdeer. I was incredibly fascinated by your work and it has started inspiring me to make my own music! I enjoy doing it however the program im using right now isn't exactly the greatest... But I will explore and find one that I enjoy! As I was getting more into your work, I wanted to know about the little characters in the drawings that you had posted in the songs. The one that really caught my eye and I think you already know this, But it was squorb. I really love his design and think hes very cute. I don't know everything about Squorb and I didn't want to get myself attached to him because... Why get attached to something that you don't even entirely know about? Squorb was definitely one of my favorites along with bridgefall! I cannot wait for the day you start posting comics and more media about your characters because they really do inspire me aswell! A lot of your work inspires me. It really helped me feel connected to emotions, It helped me feel emotions that I thought i'd never feel. It's done a lot. Seeing you upload this, The Kingdeer Mix, had got me feeling a lot of things that I cannot describe. Some good, Some bad. I am glad that you're still here. I'm so glad you have not given up. I'm so glad that despite all the pain you've gone througj, you're not giving up and you're continuing to learn and grow.

A gorgeous synthesis of the album and it's themes. Reading the blog post makes me wish I'd known where to go for the comics / looked a bit closer at the album art and asked about Mainor ("the trianglehead")
While I missed meanings or misinterpreted them at times, the gradual release of the album came at a very... discordant and unpleasant time in my life, and gave me solace each time a song dropped. Its always a joy to see your work, whether it be in the form of auditory or visual art. There's always some intent put into the lyricism and the art alike.
Deeply glad to see you're still around, and thank you for the kind words and hope alike that exists within a number of your songs.
