Awesome guys! Nice to see my favourite nasi lemak stall is there (alimah’s kitchen) Was always wondering where they might have moved to. Thanks to you two! Jazaakumallaahukhairan 🤗
The chicken rice looks delicious. Btw Margaret Drive is a very old estate but since it was rebuilt some years ago with new blocks and library it is still has nice ambience though different from the past . Next time I am there , I am going to pop by and taste some of these food.
With the Dawson area refurbished and the Margaret Hawker Centre in the midst of that, the area now looks refreshed. But it still exudes the old world tranquility. Nice area. Do give it a try. We loved it 🤩
You are so right about it being an enclave on its own. What I missed most was the decommissioned railway track at the back which we used to take a walk to Ikea. It was so peaceful.
The Mee Kuah from Farokh and Nisa looks ooh la la! Presently, my favourite Mee Kuah is from Nabila at Sunshine Place, Choa Chu Kang. But, I am looking forward to head down to Margaret Drive one day to give Farokh and Nisa's Mee Kuah a try. Cheers!
wowww mashallah always enjoyed you guys savoring the delicious food and the sense of humor in the videos hahahahah....❤❤. In yr old videos u guys did a review on curry puff kan I can't find their username 😅
Alhamdullilah. Thank you for the support over the years. We are grateful. As for the curry puff seller, you look for Fauziah Kak Pau on FB. She may have renamed her profile.
Another great episode. Btw do you feel sad Tanglin Halt is gone? I had a classmate living there in the 80s and we sometimes used to follow her home from school, eat there. Btw there is a stall I really hope you will visit. Have you heard of the 2.50 Shop at Jalan Kukoh Food Centre? It is run by a lawyer Hani Isnin and her parents. Everything is priced at 2.50 even briyani and apparently portions aren’t small. I haven’t been yet but saw it on CNA channel on UA-cam.
Thank you so much 🤩 We do feel sad to see Tangling Halt go, especially with the tranquility of that area and the vibe. But well, have to accept that progress has to take place. We were planning to go to the $2.50 shop. Just need to squeeze it into our super tight schedule. Let's hope that we will be able to set foot in Jalan Kukoh for this season. 😃
Sukarnih Chicken Rice~Roasted Chicken is tender maybe because I order the drumsticks part. Rice is fragrant and not too oily. The soup is very flavourful. However the chilli not the best.
It would be good if you could give the location of the makqn places in nearest mrt, buses which ply there, operational hours of the foodstalls. These, I feel, are important information for us, as your viewers, who would want to patronise the foodstalls.
It was a tremendous joy for me. It definitely is the same uncle as to when they were in Tangling Halt. Could still see in my head their shop, being right next to the Sarabat Stall and facing the small road. 🤩
I feel hungry watching you walaupun I dah makan😂 How is business at Margaret Drive compared to Tanglin Halt? Just wondering if they are doing as well. Tanglin Halt was a very old neighbourhood with kampung spirit. Would be nice to hear a bit from the hawkers about their experience in moving and how they find the new environment.
If you feel hungry after watching, that means we have done our job. Hehe 😬 Some of the hawkers are doing well, in fact better than previously. However, it is not the case for all of them. That is what I gather after talking to two of the hawkers whom we knew very well. One thing I find different is that ‘Kampung Spirit’ you are talking about. From what I could see, it seems a bit more transactional with the lunch crowd like most other new hawker centres. I may be wrong since I was there only during that lunch period.
@@SmallCityIsland I think you are right about the kampung spirit being missing. That was built up over decades in Tanglin Halt. The newer hawker centres look very nice but I think it takes time to build up that spirit and also their regulars from the old estate may not go there. Tanglin Halt had that old world feel. I used to go to the market there in the 90s while living in Commonwealth area.
Agree with you about giving it time for the kampung spirit to come alive. Wahhhh…it is nice to know that we are from the same neighbourhood albeit the different time period. 😃
what makes or break a solid chicken rice is the cucumber.. everything else dont matter 🤣🤣🤣 on a serious note, i feel every element on the plate needs to be good lah.. if the rice good but the chicken and chilli not good or vice versa, it will be a bad plate of chicken rice.. but there's 1 thing that i know which is solid gold are those home bake cookies.. any progress update on the nego? 😅😅😅
Hahahaha. The cucumber eh 😅😂 That is true bro. It is the sum of all parts. If every component on the plate is good, then it is definitely a very good plate of chicken rice. 👍 Cookies still on going nego. Madam says at the moment apron dah kena gantung 😱
wahh finally an excellent food review youtuber sia.. love it!!
Thank you so much. We are truly honored 🤩
wahhhhh looks so marvelicious!🤤
It definitely was and I believe will always be 🤩

It is great to know that the video helped you. Alhamdullilah. Afwan my brother 😃
The nasi sambal goreng daging rendang looks legit. One look u can see that its delicious. The chicken rice looks good as well.
I find that both of them do hit the mark and do make your tastebud happy. 😃

@SmallCityIsland very nice area, in a central location but sort of in an enclave of its own.
You are so right about it being an enclave on its own. What I missed most was the decommissioned railway track at the back which we used to take a walk to Ikea. It was so peaceful.
@SmallCityIsland 😔we lose so much with change though development brings positives too.
That is the sad part about change but we also want to always look at the bright side of things. Positive thoughts 😀
The nasi sambal goreng looooks so shiok
It is definitely shiokadoodadoo 🤩😂

@@SmallCityIsland I hope you make it. Would love to hear your take on the food. CNA focussed more on the price, portion , concept etc.
It is in our bucketlist. 😃😃

You are right about the chicken rice. For those who loves the chilli to be really spicy, yup it is not the best in that department.

I can see Dani enjoyed this very much😂 Btw when you were in Tanglin Halt was it the same Uncle doing the cooking for the mee kuah?
