Everything you showed in this video looks spot on good. After around five thousand rounds, that's a good time to really evaluate the wear and tear on the gun. PSA has a history of issues with bolts and with rivets. Your gun was one of them, the bolts would have primers stuck in the firing pin channel and seize up, and because PSA does not dimple the receiver beneath the rivets, it is alleged that over time, the violence of the bolt carrier slamming into the rear trunnion will cause the rivets to shear off. I can tell you I shoot my GF3 almost every weekend since 2022, and shot it once in a competition setting. I've put Romanian surplus cans of 660, Global Ordnance, TeleAmmo, Igman brass, Belom, Wolf, Tula, and Sterling through it, and I'm close to being over 5k. Most will say a PSA AK cannot survive that number and I'm challenging it. Rob Ski told me in a response email that he's seen these PSAs run on Full Auto in a public setting in Las Vegas ranges, where they're abused well past that capacity. I do believe PSA has stepped up their game on their rifles. Sorry for the length of this.

I really need to get into the AK world, man. WGP knows my love of ARs, even though I know it has a ton o' problems, that HCAR one day will be mine. Yet, having the ability to come to a channel like this and see other AK gunfighters drop great comments and having a video like this is a great teaching experience. Thanks, man! I really enjoyed this video, bro.

I had a Polish 74 that I damaged with an Ottis cleaning kit. Took it to Rifle Dynamics to fix and they also told me that they fixed the bolt head spacing, so I'd check the head spacing on any AK.

Interesting. I'm no AK expert, but it does look like honest use & wear. Which is a good thing on this rifle that you just have to shoot & enjoy! 👍👍

Looks fine. I put a very thin wipe of TW 25 grease on those areas. Tetra makes a good grease also.

    4:45 is totally
Correct. Bolt tail wear is very common and essential unavoidable. I’ve had two psa AK rifles in 7.62, both had the bolt tails wear so bad they rolled over and stopped the gun from working. Easy fix with a file, but it’s an issue I have only seen on my psa Ak rifles. Also, your trunnion and bolt looks absolutely fine for 200-500 rounds. Which is kind of surprising for a psa 😂. Great video brother.

I got an ol stinky wasr that has a few thousand thru it. Besides the rails that the carrier rides there is almost 0 wear.

A good 5.45mm AK-74 is hard to find (not that I have the coin right now) & I'm in the hunt. Thanks for the review

I just scored a like new polish Tantal ak74, but it was pricey especially considering how much they used to be

Not an expert either but yeah just looks like finish wear. Like you I've got a decent amount of 5.45 regular stuff plus one of those tins of 1080. Would be good for the 5.45 guys when PSA gets their's out. It has gotten pricey for sure. I like that some of the manufacturers have been making available AK's in 5.56. Plenty of that caliber around and still affordable compared to the 5.45. Good video Matt and I hope your PSA continues to work as well as it is now. Oh before I forget, Paul says "hi" Matt.

Yeah PSA 545 will be an available option but their 762x39 is nearly .50 cpr guessing 545 will be higher...

I'm by no means an AK expert, but I do have a Pioneer Arms AK in 7.62x39. It runs quite well and I also have about 500-600 rounds in it. I'd look into checking the head spacing on the PSA one just due to what I've heard about PSA in general.

    • @Tac2cool556

Definitely not an expert if you have a pioneer ak lol

I am no expert either but I've owned ak's my whole life I have a few saiga's with a 1000 rounds through them that looks similar to yours

@@wyominggunproject I wish I could send you a picture of my trunnion. Looks like your trunnion is tool craft so I bet they changed their in house parts to the tool craft when you sent it?

That sux on a gun with 200 rounds. PSA 5.45x39 guns have a TERRIBLE reputation.
