Love the diversity, Story Hoppers are by far my favorite, but monthly news is the perfect update as we get a view into all the projects that are running at the same time, plus it feels real due to the transparency!!
As a skater, I can tell you with absolute certainty that those things are going to shred micro-plastics everywhere. Even on a wooden board, it's actually a big and mostly unacknowledged problem within the sport (griptape, petrol-based lacquer, shrinking urethane wheels, shredded shoes, ect). You could mitigate some of the shrapnel with a tail pad under the board. This would be a little funny as the inverse was popular in the 80's.
Don't honestly care what you talk about just really excited to see the monthly video and keeping the idea of recycling plastics out there. It really helps keeping it in mind throughout the month.
This has been one of my favorite monthly news as it helped me to easily get external links for related videos and documentaries. Keep adding to research section. Congratulations.
I like the relaxed nature of the monthly news series. Sometimes big exciting fun stuff happens. sometimes it's a dull month. I like that it's close to the reality of the way things are. I think the best things we can share with this monthly program are our own efforts. I've got a half-built shredder box I haven't touched in months because Covid made it difficult for me to collaborate in my local makerspace and I know nothing about metalworking. So.. Yeah. I hope I can find a way to get started some day.
I like the monthly news a lot. It's a good sum up of many things that are going on. Perhaps a suggestion for a video series would be a background story of all people that are working/worked with the PP project. 3 ppl per video maybe?
I am always curious what projects and new developments you folks are up to. These videos gives a sense of pulse and insight into the overall project. I'd be very curious to have the occasional episode that gets into the science/physics behind some of the produced objects. e.g. understanding how to build stronger ropes, contrasting it with the design/anesthetics and so on.
Great video again, thanks Dave. I think you might benefit from using multiple video formats on one channel; short videos by makers about their process and products could entice new people to join the community (and are fun to watch), in-depth videos about the development of machines for whoever is interested in that and of course longer videos like this to give updates on all facets. Keep up the good work! :)
Thanks guys! Very informative and rich release! I'm so sorry I just found out about your channel! I was interested in the plastic recycling project (with an emblem in the form of a bag) about 6 years ago, I am very glad that the project is actively developing. I have been doing 3D printing for the last 6 years and during this time I have accumulated a sufficient amount of plastic waste that I want to learn how to process and use competently. Thanks from Russian Fablab Station, guys, creative success!
I really enjoy your DIY contraptions and that everything is open source. It inspired me to get out and collect materials chucked away and make my own things.
Hi, the guy from Kenya is awesome, the baskets looked amazing 👍. The French guy taking the machines mainstream also amazing. Both of them are inspiring and a testament to the belief in the precious plastic movement/ethos/evolution, bravo 👍👍👍👍👍.
I love the monthly videos, thank you for doing them! I'm not part of the community but I follow your projects and whenever I feel hopeless about the world and what we can actually do it just takes to watch one of PP videos and I'm back in the game ready to work on my own projects! Maybe thats not the intention you make them with but its amazing so please keep it going!
In terms of variety you guys are doing a great job. I personally love seeing what people are doing and any practical, real life usage. In todays video the fence made in Kenya was amazing. Maybe you can do a Go Fund Me to collect money and send him a better machine. The fact he put the old one to such good use is encouraging and proves the money donated isn't going to waste.
I like the news, as they are most of the times. Communityworkspaces, Communitynews, Dave Preciousplastic projects(sneekpeak) Bigger picture(amount of folks and material, outreach)
Dave I love you videos no matter what you talk about, I know it's gonna be cool and sweet. So you just do your thing, and we watch you. Follow you, work with you, copy you. There was a time when I watched so many of your films, I started to talk like you haha. I am very anxious to see Project Camp growing. See you around , tot ziens :)
Hi Dave, here link of the video presentation of the open source hardware app I implemented: ua-cam.com/video/2BrXwIwgpxA/v-deo.html and here the actual link of the app: client-oshwapp.herokuapp.com/ bye, thanks!
Hey Dave, great video as always :) I really like the monthly updates to keep up with what the team and the community is working on. Not just because it is amazing what all of you have done, but because I am about to finish my masters degree (green mobility) and like to find out how best to join the precious plastic team and help out a bit. I have a gap year ahead of me, and I would really like to help you with your project kamp! Best wishes from Austria!
I like the European community reviews of what others are working on and it’s impressive. Here’s and idea why not do some extended visits at near by night life and restaurants, hotels?
I was aware of precious plastic, but this is the first I've heard of monthly news videos... I loved the video, but clearly I'm late to the party. Maybe try new ways to get the word out on the monthly news ? In general I love all of precious plastic stuff. I hope you get the encouragement you need to continue because your videos certainly encourage lots of people in this world. Now I'm off to watch all of your old videos.
Dave, Tim here... I live in tilburg and we are currently redesigning the recycling centre (milieustraat) to host different businesses (second hand shop, repairshop, artist in residence spaces, a lab to develop solutions for waste problems on a local (and bigger scale). Hope to integrate your precious plastic in it, but this seems to be trending in cities. Redesign the waste treatment of citizens, perhaps you and your team would share your opinion about this. For us to learn about it. Byebye...
Tim, Dave is far far away right now haha. I know his project very well, I live in Venlo. If I can help you with something, let me know. And what you are talking about above, that is a great idea. If Dave does not have the time, I can pitch in. I teach how to start up Precious Plastic in schools, offices e.g.
I also think vendors on the marketplace would sell more in the states if prices were listed in dollars as well as euros. A lot of americans probably find the euros price tags off putting. Is there a seperate market space here? I haven't seen one.
I've been in contact with a Work space in Oregon that focuses on equipment production. I'm on the east coast (Washington DC/ Baltimore area). I've looked at the map and don't see a whole lot of pins in my area. What do you know about what's going on on this side of the Atlantic.
What's your opinion on the Shiftphone? They are kind of similar to Fairphone in that they aim for modularity, fair trade and transparent resource sourcing but it seems they're aiming for a higher end market.
Dave hakkens please reply what do you think of plastic to petrol pyrolysis . Why isnt there a factory which destroys plastic through the process of. pyrolysis.
I remember she stopped by the old workshop to pick up precious plastic material they were selling, it was in a weekly news video. So I'm sure Dave knows her channel. She has very cool projects indeed!

Good advice again I have heard, I thought it was just a freestyle skateboarding requirement.

Fairphone 3 is actually the only phone with a 10/10 score, with the Fairphone 2.
I recommend looking into the Brave Browser so people can donate to you in BAT coins. It also has better privacy which fits well with your ethos.
