That will usually happen due to low air pressure. When the air gets to over 100 psi it should turn off the fan. Also whenever the ac compressor pressure gets to high.
@@igorobukhov8138 that’s a tough one. Could be one of many issues. Simple wiring issues , spread pins at connector, bad clutch, bad solenoid, high pressure switch failed. Would just need to start with that t/s and dive in.
That is a tough one since there are quite a few things to look at. But I can help with a quick test. Key off fan will lock on. Key on fam will unlock. If it stays on unplug solenoid. If it stays on remove air line from solenoid to fan and see if it is coming out of solenoid. If air is coming out and it unlocks than solenoid has failed. If it’s locked at that point than clutch has failed.
How is it going Busted Knuckles. I’m having a issue on my 2019 cascadia. Could you please give some advise. I got a coolant level very low warning and engine shuts off after 1 minute. I’m on the side of the road trying to figure out what the issue is. I came across your channel and you have great information. I did some tests based on your video. My fan moves freely ignition, solenoid seems to be working. No leaks, coolant level is not low either. Any advise? I would appreciate it pls
Thanks for reaching out. I have a video in my line up for just this issue. More than likely either your coolant sensor is shorting internally or your wiring by your coolant level sensor is pulled to tight or vent causing an open circuit and throwing that code. You should be able to jump the two pins to get over safely till you get it narrowed down.
Why yes I am,, So with opt idle if you have comfort mode enabled and run the ac it should continuously run till it cools down till your set temperature. So technically If U left the windows open and ran it on ac cold , it would never get to temp and cont run the Eng. but if you don’t hav comfort mode enabled than your outta luck and need to get that parameter end Enabled.
I'm having an issue with my fan, my question is when the engine is off should I be able to spin the fan with my hand? I can take my hand and turn it freely. Would it be safe to say I need a new clutch?? I replaced the solenoid thinking that was the problem but when cranked the fan spins slow but never kicks on.
Great question, and thanks for reaching out. The fan on most typical FTL products are normally closed. So with this set up the fan will spin free with key on. With key off it should lock up after 30 seconds. Now this is assuming you have a air actuated fan and not a viscous style with fluid in it. With engine running if you unplug your fan solenoid it should engauge the fan and you will notice a difference. Easy test there. If that turns it on I would chase either an ac issue or parameter issue.

Mr. Busted Knuckle I hate to bother you again but my foot brake valve is “whistling “ and every time I press the brakes it stops. Is it a sign of it going bad? Are there other components of the air brake system I should check first?
Not a problem at all man. This can be a problem with one of your brake chambers backfeeding air. Can a bad fan clutch cause overheating? My fan runs constantly. I've changed the water pump, thermostat, tank reservoir, radiator and heater core buy it's still overheating. Any suggestions?
Great question, when the fan comes on it reduces power and coolant temps. So with the fan on the temps should be maintained lower since your forcing more air through the radiator. Now I can see if you push your truck hard and it just can’t keep up such as plugged radiator/cac than u might be running hotter temps. But turn the ac off when u run and see if it affects the fan operation. Than you will know if it’s ac related or strictly a truck side issue.
