Poor Wolverine, killed their weapon by slamming it into the wall and then CatKong took it completely off. I don't think they managed to fix it for the next fight.
Wolverine Driver here. you can bearly see it in the first part of the match, but on the first contact, our weapon chain flew off. Before this fight, we had a test Spinnup after the weapon was unresponsive with our match against professor scrap. However, the chain was too tight, and we never re-tensioned the chain before the fight. In hindsight, I should have tapped out after the first couple of hits in order to preserve what we had. Miraculously, none of the electronics was destroyed, although they were about a millimetre off our VEX BB esc. Wolverine is now in permanent retirement. RIP Wolverine 2011 - 2023.
@@cormacmccreary9160 Thanks for the comment, I didn't even see the chain fall off. It's very visible on the floor at 1:12 though. Tapping out could've been the more strategic decision but the never give up never surrender attitude is something to be proud of. It certainly made the fight still very exciting to watch seeing that bot just yeeted all over the box yet never giving up and the entire weapon assembly getting ripped off is a sure highlight of the event.
