    Nice bike. I bought my first one a couple weeks ago and just ordered my MX Sport today. Can't wait to get out hunting!

      A Dual Sport bike? My first was a 2011 KLR650. I traded it in with 60,000 miles on it for my 2018 KLR650. It now has 14,000 miles. Best way to go hunting. I'd be glad to help you get started with your MX Sport settings. Cheers!

      @@ShawnStoffelRelicSeekr Yep, I got a 2017 Yamaha WR250R so I can go pretty much anywhere on or off-road. I was told the MX won't ship out until later next week so I'm going to take this time to watch your videos for settings and other tips. I appreciate the help! Can you tell me what type of bag/luggage you use to transport all your detecting gear on the cycle?

      @@highlymobilehobo4161 Highly Mobile Hobo I went to JoAnnes fabric and purchased some pleather material along with a long zipper and made a custom bag. I thought I had a made a video about it but can't find it.

    the relic mode is where the MX Sport shines. I run sens as high as I can without getting chatter. no vco, sat about 4, threshold so you can barely hear it. iron grunt on, no disc, 4 tones. sweep as fast as sat can keep up. when you find something of interest jump to coin/ jewelry to verify. use target I.d. & tone also. I use 50% reject volume & seems to work for me. it took me a while to dial it in but when its dialed in , it shines.

      I'll turn my threshold to zero sometimes when I know the area isn't very trashy, but for trashy sites the threshold turned up helps me better identify the many different metal signals that lay on, or within the same areas. That's why I'm using 8-tones, because of the predominately trashy areas I search. Thanks for sharing, I'll try out your settings.

    Thanks for sharing your settings for the Whites MX-Sport. Your engine part is not a brake master cylinder. That is a fuel pump. Good for scrap metal! That item at 28:40 is the frame to an old clock. ;-)

    Love the sport, I actually prefer all metal mode when I hunt. It tells you so much

    I know this may seem like a crazy insane question, but if you would do me a huuuuge favor, and tell me what do the majority of gold rings come in as in the relic mode? Bullets? buckles? or which relic? thanks

    Just subbed! How do you get permission to hunt on others property? Like what is the best way to approach someone, and find out who owns the land? ANd what do you say to a complete stranger in order to have them trust you enough to dig on their land? And any tips at all will be greatly appreciated! Never done anything like this before in my life. Man I am new and have a lot to figure out here! thx

      I use postcards. On the front of my postcard is a picture of me finding a nice 1912 Gold watch. On the back is my bio and asking permission. Once you locate a site you want to hunt, google maps will show a line around the property that can help you identify the land owner, get the address, and mail them your card. People love getting my cards. I believe I explained my permission method in one of my earlier videos. It's the best method I have found that works. You can also just drop them at peoples doorsteps or hang them on their mailbox flags.

    OMG! How long is it going to take me to figure out what all those things do and how to set them up everytime I change areas? I have to admit I am feeling very intimidated right about now! I guess when I bought this mx sport I was thinking i could just put it in a program mode and go hunt. Any tips for a newbee are very welcomed! PLEASE! Thx !

      It's the best machine on the market as far as I'm concerned. I just wish they had built them a little more durable. The brains (computer) is amazing. Just set your machine on Relic Mode and with the settings of SAT: 2, Threshold: 10-17, Sensitivity: 5, Disc: 0, Tone ID: 8, IRNGNT: 01, AUDMOD: 00, RejVol: 30-40, VCO: on, SalTrk: 00. Those settings will be good searching anywhere, very trashy abandoned home sites to parks. Learn the machine at these settings and you'll be pulling up some great stuff. Dig everything from 0 to 100.

    So was you having to listen to all that buzzing in those headphones, or do you have it set now so that all you hear is a sound of a target? I don't think I caould stand to listen to all that noise. I guess i was thinking these metal detectors only made sounds when you find something. Sorry, but as you can tell all i have at this point are freaking questions! Never ending questions! lol

    • @ShawnStoffelRelicSeekr
      @ShawnStoffelRelicSeekr  6 років тому +1

      I don't even notice the noise as some would call it. To me, it's all signals echoeing from the ground.
