This still blows my mind! That intro is so classically thematic too. God, the breaking within the melody. The epitome of musical emotional movement & life. This baby is alive with twists, sorrow, mystery, struggle, & with an almost audible historical dynamic. The conclusion it draws is authentic & noble feeling, & rightfully earned. You just witnessed modern magic occur. Trey is a gift! Thank you, Trey!
Trey is definitely reaching some new heights with these string arrangements and Beacon performances. Hes definitely challenging himself again and finding a new, fresh way to relate to the music. It's sublime
Dig up the vids of Trey conducting the Nashville Chamber Orchestra back in like '04 I think it was?? I don't know if there's a good recording of Guyute with a full Orchestra... that shit was absolutely MIND blowing in person. I didn't get to see Phish until '09, back in '04 I genuinely didn't know if I'd ever get to see them live so I was just taking every opportunity I could to see the boys play any music whatsoever. Trey conducting an orchestra, Trey band, Trey with Dave & Tim, Fish playing with MM&W also in '04, I saw Vida Blue, Mike and Leo. Literally all the iterations of side projects they had going (minus the holy grail, Oysterhead) and I feel so lucky to have seen those performances even though all I really wanted at the time so desperately was Phish! Hindsight is wild :)
@@kevinthedp hello fellow kevin. I have actually heard those performances he did with the prior orchestras and the musicians weren't as good as these guys. It always sounded kind of stiff to me but these performances still breath and feel fresh. I need to go back and watch those again tho.
Thank you trey. When I think where life has taken me from being a tour rat on 99 all pilled out and thinking “that’s the way this song is meant to be listened to”, to enjoying this so much more sober all these years later, you don’t know me, but I’m profoundly grateful for you and your push to helping junkies like me get sober
Always been a favorite of mine. Back in 2003 I had been asking for the band to do Ghost > WTU on the messageboards leafing you to turkey tour... we’ll sure enough the message was received, or maybe just a coincidence since it had never been done b4. Needless to say, it was an epic moment in phishtory for myself
Was happy to see this beautiful and peaceful performance dropped this morning and watched as i woke up and sipped my coffee Where Trey answers the question, "whats the use?", with "Be alive!, and live every moment".
Trey et al... This is so beautiful it makes me cry everytime. One of my favorite songs by far and I've of the major highlights from the Beacon Theatre Jams
Wow! laying out this sonic texture that builds with expectation of hearing Treys triumphant guitar even with a full band head spin. First the volume on the violin breathes a little heavier a spark dancing on the waves, some chimes break thorough for a second into Cello that is articulate bliss again just a db above the ever growing texture. Piano can barley hold back the energy now building but why it is special is because it did not speed way up or triple the volume. I was still able to pick out each instrument. Like a call and response. Trey some how builds the emotion and feelings through tone. It's Beautiful and Piano accents this at the end with playing in the moment with passion Love it thank you
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard in my life. Absolutely perfect in every way. So much emotion. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!
there is only one word BELESA musical. This is how I define this piece. Trey also has the rare ability to still surprise. This particular arrangement reminded me of another great Nick Drack talent. I would love to see this on the next tour Musical wonder that delights all the senses
Thanks Trey. Lovely song. Same goes to the band. Use that Zappa influence! You and Dweezil should play together one day. I’d sure be happy. You make me happy regardless. Proud of you and the Divided Sky Detox/Rehab fund. What an amazing give back. Love always. Tom
Phenomenal. The strings get me every time. Amazing arrangements with this one taking the cake. Every Beacon show just keeps getting better and better, thanks for making Friday nights something to look forward to again
I really hope there is a rescue squad tour after all of this. They add so much emotion to the music. WTU is perfect for strings. I would love to hear Hydrogen if they are back next week.
thank you so much for sharing. your generosity has been constant throughout this difficult time. from the very beginnings of covid you gave us something to feel good about each week. then you put together this beacon run and it has been building. 'and just when we think you couldn't give us any more; this...
This has the same power as Tchaikovky's Grand Canyon Suite. Absolutely amazing arrangement, considering the alternative live Phish version. Higher level stuff here.

This is one of the most beautifully tranquil pieces of music I have heard in a while.... thank you so much Trey
I'm over here with my tissues like who the hell gave this a thumbs down. LOL

This rendition is a gift to humanity.
Was happy to see this beautiful and peaceful performance dropped this morning and watched as i woke up and sipped my coffee Where Trey answers the question, "whats the use?", with "Be alive!, and live every moment".
If we don't get another rendition, then this will be enough. The Rescue Squad delivered!
Hair-raising. Tear-jerking. Thank you so very much, Trey, for this most beautiful piece of heaven. Grateful for you.
can we get the whole segue? WTU > brian and robert > if i could was the highlight of that show! had me in tears, thank you Trey!
You ain’t the only one 😭
Dude! that Leaves though🤩
Rescue Squad Strings for the Win!!!
I feel so broken rn, this helps...
Couldn't thumb this up fast enough. Any phish song redone with Rescue Squad is a win! And Jeff too. He's insane
God that cello glissando during the bridge is so hauntingly melancholy.
Absolutely unbelievable. I am so proud of Trey and so blessed to be a fan. What a performance! What an arrangement!
I had forgotten how sublime this piece is….pleasing to the senses…emotionally brilliant…stands the test of times….thank you Trey !

Imagine a gamehedge rpg video game with all treys original scores throughout
Beautiful, Trey and Co. Just fucking beautiful!
This is the music that saves the world and what should be playing when Bill and Ted visit the future.
Hauntingly beautiful. Thank you for this. I can’t stop listening. Love
I think we all knew this would be the tune released from this set. Thank you. ❤️
Literal chills. Incredible.
So beautiful. I find my way back to this version and it hits every time

Musical wonder that delights all the senses
7:01 piano
This reminds me of “beautiful jam” ... just gorgeous❤️
How sweet would a vinyl box set of these shows would be? This is a incredible version of WTU. The song always hits me hard.
Play, listen, repeat!
This is in my top 3 Trey/Phish experiences.
Great energy in this video
the two downvoters listen to Twiddle.
It’s so funny when these people keep posting on phish videos to listen to their shit tier 4 jam bland like twiddle or goose, gtfoh with that shit.
My favorite version of my all-time favorite Phish song. Thank you for sharing your gifts Trey & Beacon Co. You folks are amazing!
Beautiful chills
This is even more amazing the second time around... thanks to all of you for making these shows happen
The emotion in this! Stellar! Thank you, Trey!💚🙏 🐠

A question I ask myself way to often. "What's the use?"
It’s ok you’re not alone. That being said this is why I wake up every day. Music is life.
Truly your greatest musical moment! So thankful for this Trey!
Phenomenal. The strings get me every time. Amazing arrangements with this one taking the cake. Every Beacon show just keeps getting better and better, thanks for making Friday nights something to look forward to again
chills. tears. love. light. Thank you Trey!
That brought immense energy through the screen! Was like a warm thoughtful hug!
This and Lizards had me in tears the other night. Thank you so much Trey! Love you man!
Dialed in And Beautiful - Thank You
An absolutely stunning piece of music. So excited for what may come next.
I have a feeling this is how the song was always meant to be played, rather than the Siket disk version
I really hope there is a rescue squad tour after all of this. They add so much emotion to the music. WTU is perfect for strings. I would love to hear Hydrogen if they are back next week.
Tears of joy!
This is on another level of beauty

This is a huge win.
All the feels!
Just so beautiful! Go RS!
Absolutely gorgeous. Thanks Trey 🙏
Can we get another upload with the acoustic Turtle In The Clouds or The Lizards? Those were my highlights by far
I thought it was all awesome EXCEPT for The Lizards. Trey was all over the place and missed like half of the lyrics.
@@BinFrog it must have been hard to sing those chorus parts I guess. Fuck I needs watch this again but I’m not tryna pay for a LivePhish account
