    This is exactly what I do. I’ve brought my expert Solidworks skills and extensive 3d printing knowledge into my last few jobs. Starting as a machinist and now a full time mechanical and design engineer I can do it all. Also having a few patents in my name. It feels good doesn’t it? This video resonates with me a lot and appreciate your channel. Keep it up!

    Great videos I just started following and I love the way you explain in ways you can apply everything you talk about in real world situations! I'm an automotive tech. and I want to model and design performance parts for cars. I would say I'm average at using Solidworks and plan on investing more of my time to learn Solidworks since I'm already familiar with it, my question is do you recommend investing fully into Solidworks or another modeling sofware ? I feel like you are the first person who I can relate the way I want to learn Solidworks and can relate to the real work experience

    Hi Aryan, Great Video! I was confused with what you said at the end, are you recommending that you need to be active with our online freelance profiles and that its worth offering a competitive price so the employer can see your value you can offer them? And then from there on offer more and more work to them but at a great value for what you offer them

    when it comes to Solidworks I always have a few parts I don't get it I mean I'm a little frustrated I'll start studying software engineering but as I worked for more than 3 years and learned Solidworks by myself I mean I'm frustrated now what to do should I take my Solidworks and CNC machine skills higher so when immigrating from Iran to Germany use it as a job or leave it behind I love creating things but I'm not sure about my level that I can work for a company or not so what do you think? I really can't decide that I keep my love to mechanical engineering within my other passions or not cause I can really see my lack of knowledge in areas that a person get in uni and I don't want a degree for it at least in this state of my life but also can't help my mind not thinking to working with solidworks or learning things about all kind of production and CNC machines and lots of industry related things I'm stucked in middle ground

    • @with-Aryan
      @with-Aryan  10 місяців тому

    What have you physically created and manufactured using Solidworks ?
    Virtual creations are all well and good , but the long term cost of the software ( and the same with Catia ) really mean you need to be part of a profitable enterprise to make the proposition feasible.
    A steady input of profitable work is the only way that high-end CAD software makes any sense , however desirable its ownership is, it is a means to an end, and not an end in itself.

    Hi, I would consider myself as somewhere between intermediate & expert at CAD modeling (SOLIDWORKS), but I always feel like there are alot of features that I still don't understand in SOLIDWORKS or haven't explored yet.
    What would be a good way to fill those gaps?
    Very informative video btw, when I first started using equation table for a project, it was a huge time saver, managed to do 4-5 versions within a day & generate the cost of manufacturing for each of them.

    • @anasassi1661
      @anasassi1661 10 місяців тому

      Hi i am a new graduate mechanical engineer... how can we generate the costs for our designs in solidworks?

    • @with-Aryan
      @with-Aryan  10 місяців тому +3

      Good day, coming to estimating cost, it is going to come to identifying key features in your model and then using basic arithmetic.
      E.g. A 3d printing facility, can roughly estimate cost by providing a cost/gram of material used, or cost linked to total volume of the component.
      E.g. 2 A surface treatment facility can provide quotes based on total surface area, SOLIDWORKS can calculate that instantly and thus can help speed up the process.
      E.g. 3 SOLIDWORKS can instantly create a cutlist and Bill of Materials of real world structural steel, which can then be taken to a steel vendor for a cost estimate for the first time, post that Excel can handle this workload once you know all of the overheads that apply in your state.

    As an mechanical design & manufacturing engineer student, during an intern semester, I was the only mechanical in my department and I would be that go to guy and have a few edges that my co interns would come to me for. I would be helpful and answer the questions they had using solidworks, 3d printing, materials & different types of manufacturing processes. I soon realized they picked up and they would jump in to help others as if they were the experts or if they were mechanicals.
    Any advice on how to be a team player without giving your edge away?

    Hey Aryan, I hope you are doing well. I recently been watching your videos and was wondering how can I become a SW freelancer when SW is like $8000? I don't have that money and I heard using the student version won't help my case either since SW apparently detects the student version from the premium version on models. Apparently it causes some piracy strike, but I cannot confirm how true that is. I am not sure if there are any other affordable options out there, so I was wondering if you knew any?

    • @with-Aryan
      @with-Aryan  9 місяців тому

      I understand but that is just how things are in 2023, For smaller self projects when you are working on your portfolio you can try SW Makers edition. Else its always better to start out at a company, and save up for a true copy of SOLIDWORKS.

The price for licensed is too high and I still can’t afford it… I found 3d experience Solidworks for makers which is 9.99 USD/month but I am not sure if it’s suitable for making money with it….. can you please help me with this problem?
    Can you suggest me where I can buy/rent (cloud rent) Solidworks which I can afford to start working?
    Can you suggest another good softwares to start with, which are on reasonable prices?
    Thank you in advance!

    • @with-Aryan
      @with-Aryan  9 місяців тому

      For starters you can join a firm as a design engineer, since they will pay for the Software. Coming to Makers its a big NO NO for freelancing, since the part files are locked in such a way that only other makers versions can open it, and thus if a client requests for the editable files, your files will be useless to them, since mostly they will need them in at least SW Professional or Premium.
