  • Hope you enjoyed my take on Tamiya's 1:48 P47M Thunderbolt, this kit was a lot of fun to make and a brilliant platform to try out some new techniques. Let me know what you thought, and I'll see you in the next one for an F105D Thunderchief! Bye Bye!

Really nice I'm building my revell one of this in 1/72 scale. Found the right video for the type of blue shade I was looking for.

@@machmodels Dull Dark Green (FS 34092) for the cockpit and Yellow Zinc Chromate (Tamiya acrylic XF-4 is a great match) for the gear bays and inner gear doors (including the tail wheel).

Ruder pedals would have been the same color as the rest of the interior with chipping and scuffing on them from wear and tear, nut just straight up silver. Otherwise fantastic build!

You have a pretty good voice for narrating the buiding process. It's quite relaxing to watch your videos. Really nice building and painting. The P-47 is huge in 1/48 scale. I remember putting an Academy 1/48 P-47 next to an Revell 1/48 Bf-109G-10 and it looked like it was on another scale.

thank you! i’m glad my voice doesn’t annoy you too much! very good observation, this p47 is bigger than my hawker hunter in the same scale, crazy!!

This is the second of your builds and it, like the first, was fun to watch. I really like the choice of the unusual camo scheme and you did a great job so all kudos to you. I'm looking forward to No. 3 in due course.

Enjoyable to watch your work. I feel very comfortable with how you go about it. I would have liked to see your wash and paint choices as the M has, as you say, quite a different set of camo colours.keep up the good work while i check out your back catalogue.

Thx much for the great build video! The "M" variant does not very often get built on video.
Two "minor" points: often U.S. a/c interiors were zinc chromate green, zinc chromate yellow or U.S. "interior green", all readily visually distinguishable from the "softer" RAF interior green; the "fuel lines" you refer to are actually ignition leads, emanating from the circular conduit attached to the reduction gear housing, and terminating at the spark plugs in the cylinder heads. There are no fuel lines as such to the cylinders; there's an induction system, wherein the fuel-air mixture, under boost pressure, is routed to the rear of the individual cylinders thru a series of manifold pipes.

Wow thank you so much for all the information!! I plan on revisiting this subject soon enough just to see how I’ve improved over the year or so I’ve been on UA-cam, I’ll make sure to reference this comment😁✌🏼

Most P-47' cockpits were in fact "Dull Dark Green", FS 34092. Some C's and early D's were arguably Yellow Zinc Chromate overall but D-10's and beyond were DDG and definitely not interior green.
