I know we flubbed the beginning by saying "In this Interview..." instead of "In this video..." but hopefully the rest is as useful to you as it was fun for us to make it.
The immigration officer asked us normal questions such as how we met, how long we've been dating, how often were we seeing each other before we got married, whether my husband ever been to my country, if he knows what foods people eat in my country, if he speaks my language, but nothing more intimate than that. Really, normal questions for a real marriage. However, the officer was asking the questions very quick, giving us NO time to think. We passed because our marriage is real and we knew the answers to those questions.
This is such an important insight. And each officer is different. Some simply look at your body language or the "feel" that two people have. The best strategy for the interview is definitely to have real marriage to begin with!
That's how I feel going into things like this. We are really married, we've spent nearly every day together (including work) for the past 5 years. If somehow the officer isn't convinced or is triggered by something, screw em. Nothing more we could do.
haha. great interview. never had a client "need to confess" something odd in court or at a hearing, but you never know. worst was was when a client disclosed a "trade secret" for a patent during a deposition, but oh well, not my client. I was just 2nd chairing. good video. keep them coming.
Immigration officers look to for red flaggs like mismatches, that is, there is something not right about the couple (i.e. large age difference, shes hot, he is not, lol, or the immigrant does not speak English, thus how can they communicate? or they are from different cultures). Are they wearing wedding bands? Some officer ask to see your cell phone's. Some officers separate the couple to see if their stories match.
How do you commingle your resources when your spouse is waiting for a green card interview and has no s.s. number? It seems every bank, government resource requires it .. even car insurance or it's a no go.
Love the video! I love seeing attorneys create UA-cam channels. A few suggestions from a seasoned UA-cam watcher: I would suggest only asking people to hit the like button or subscribe once so you do not seem too repetitive. I like the humor in the videos as opposed to what others are saying because it makes the video much more enjoyable to watch, like a comic relief moment, but make sure the bit does not drag on too long. Also, the music at the end was so loud compared to the quietness of the video so it made me jump. Maybe consider putting quiet noncopyrighted music throughout the video to add a little ambiance? Love the content, and I am happy to be a new subscriber! ⚖
This is excellent feedback. The music definitely comes in too loud. We do have paid for music though, and we'll look to add something appropriate to the background. Thank you for being a subscriber!

@@DamjanDenoble Yeah, these are the sort of trip-up questions I worry about. My wife and I have been married for 2 years, together for 5 or so, and I don't know EVERYTHING about her, despite spending nearly ever waking moment together (we run a small business in China together). I'm guess I'm really worried about screwing up the "little" things. Filling the form out wrong, while completely following the instructions to the best of my understanding.
@@fredayuma7891 well we got held up at Montreal, you actually enter the u.s. there before your flight in. My wife made the officer suspicious when he asked "Where she was living?". She was slightly confused because often in Chinese English they asked "where do you live?" When asking where someone is staying. Sat for an hour waiting to clear up the concern that she was entering under a travel Visa to immigrate.
If their is anyone dumb enough to do any of these things during an interview they deserve to be denied. Be honest. Be transparent. Obey immigration laws. And answer only questions you have been asked. The immigration officer is not their to interview your life story.
It is going to be time to boot the GOP out of the White House and Senate. Then, those of us that believe in U.S. Citizens human and civil rights with regards to foreign spouses can really push for change in the USCIS. Too much dishonesty and stereotyping by USCIS officers....I know for a fact!! Lets get real change after the November elections.
My friend have a pending case for over 4 years now, it seems because he wasn’t the one who fill the application before moving to the US and he didn’t know the person who fill in the application indicate that he was married before but he has never been married so now he can’t get his green card because it shows in the system that he was previously married.. what can he do?

Would someone answer my concern about a working permit please? After getting married in USA, can I come back home to wait for my work permit? I do have a career here and I am not comfortable staying on my husband's expense for 6 months in US. Thank u .

Wait wait wait, the immigration officer only has jurisdiction over the AOS case in front of her? She was asking me all about my asylum case. So do you mean that I could have just told her to stick to her jurisdiction and not ask about the other case at all? How to do that politely lol
Hello. My husband and I have been married for 5 years. We have a 3 year old together. He is 37 years old and I am 24. We have the interview next month. My husband doesn't speak English fluently. Would I be able to translate for him? I have all our paperwork and copies ready. I have pictures of us printed out also. I'm just very nervous about them separating us. Not being there to translate for him. So can I translate for him? Or do we have to pay a certified translator?

Please, is the muslim contract from mosque in USA legal certified document approved from immigration services?? Or is denied because is not official certificate approved from legal government services? Because my friend want to marry with another man with legal certified official approved by any Government's office in USA! Please I need your help!
If a UK Citizen gets married to a US citizens on B1/B2 visa, then the UK citizen goes back to UK, Then US Citizen puts an application from USA for his/her for green card or whatever it is. Can he/she still use the B1/B2 visa to visit until the green card or immigrant application is granted? My friend is married on B1/B2 Visa, 2018 he didnt want to get married on k1, as he only stayed for 2 weeks or 3 weeks, but he came back to his home country due to his job and family ties. He sends money from uk to support his wife. 2-3 years down the line he will want the sort his family ties in uk, get his company to transfer him to Miami. But before he does that, his wife will put application in... will they ask him that when he went on B1/B2 visa why did you get married etc????
It would be great if you could give some non profit resources where people could get lawyer advice for their immigration interview based on their state . Great video!
Deal. I will do a video of best online resources - i.e. most reliable ones that I use myself and give to my clients - and I would suggest here two for you --> ILRC, Immigrant Legal REsource Center, which has the best books in the game. Their family law book is great, even if it is very in depth. I would go to the AIC website. And my favorite resource is CLINIC. Now these places will have a lot of guides for various parts of the family immigration process, and I'm not sure if they have marriage interview advice specifically. I'll try to find something more specific for the video.
