  • some more lovely pottery pieces, trying a new glaze, and iron spangles! I have been looking forward to seeing what iron spangles do to a glaze. I think one of my best creations is in this kiln a moon gazing hare! take a look and see what you think.

    Your sadwich trays are absolutely gorgeous. Colouring in all those holes, about 800 you said? Its showing patience on that piece.
    The flowery one is wowyyyy 🌸
    Yes you inspire me to make one myself.

      Thankyou Sheila, I do love those trays, especially the flower one it is so 1960's you have reminded me how nice the little roller is I made for doing that, I might do something else in that 60's style 😊

    oh Julia what a fab opening. Your growth has bee wonderful to follow over the openings. Always interested to see what pieces come out as you try so many different shapes and styles. I'd love to see some videos how you make some of these pieces.
    especially the circle case on the bias, they are so organically stunning! also the silk screen process! would love to see.
    however my absolute fav piece by far , from all the openings is your moon gazing hare. oh WOW. she's go so much character and personality. the glaze works beautifully there! Jacob is one happy chappie!
    the patience with some of those mini squares on the glazing!! impressive!!
    crazy thing I spent yesterday glazing test tiles using glazes I don't like or use much, so I can hopefully find some combos that make me want to use them. then I see you doing the same here lol. how crazy lol!
    A fabulous opening Julia! some great pieces, what a success!!!
    looking forwards to the next one!!!

      Thankyou so mich for your kind words Jeanette🤗 I am thinking of doing tutorial videos but need to get my head around the video and editing and nobody want to watch my real time hours and hours of making🤣
      The Hare is my fave piece too, I will have to find the patience to do more sculptures.
      All of the squares were time consuming but fun, at least to start with😅 I do regret the cobalt wash on it though as it spoilt it a bit.
      Funny how we both keep finding ourselves doing the same stuff, we must secretly been in tune😅

    sorry about the poor girl cat but the boy cat turned out great. you did succeed with the 60's style tray i had a bit of deja vu looking at it. the other tray with the very many-colored rectangles reminds me of the world's busiest watercolor pan set and i really like it. so much attention to detail there Julia and the patience level is off the chart.

    • @ceramicsbyjulia8552
      @ceramicsbyjulia8552  11 місяців тому +1

      Thr boy cat now lives in my Sons room along with all the other animals I made. I did find carefully glazing each little rectangle very therapeutic for about 66% then it felt like it was never going to end 😃 I did like the retro one the colours worked well against the buff I think. Might revisit that retro style again.

    Love everything💕. If you are up to doing a little video. I would love to see how you build your test tiles (if they are hand built) Thanks for the info on doing the mandala transfer. I make many of my own textures for my jewelry business. (Some mandala’s ). Can’t wait to try this. What did you add to the stoke and coat? Did you add it to thin it down? Thank you again for sharing your wonderful pieces. I so enjoy watching the reveals.

    • @ceramicsbyjulia8552
      @ceramicsbyjulia8552  2 роки тому +1

      Thankyou for your kind words Cindy, I used powdered cmc gum to thicken the stroke and coat so that it didn't bleed through the silkscreen. I got it at the baking section of the hobby store it is available at pottery suppliers too.
      For my test tiles I just cut rectangles from rolled clay slab and stand it up on a smaller square with pinched edges for drip catching. Thankyou for watching my videos Cindy😊
