      You need to address the cause of damp, not try and steal it in the wall. That's going to damage the masonry over time.

    You need to address the main issue inside the wall then apply damp seal on the exterior and interior parts of the wall

    Best result and long term permanent fix would have been applying a DPC or insulation the affected wall in the bathroom. Despite your fix, water will still be seeping through the bricks on the other side in the bathroom. Treat the real root or cause of the problem....

    Problem I have with this is that once the wall has been scraped and damaged paint removed you are left with pock marked wall and neither the sealer or paint really covers the final wall in a smooth finish - it will always look patchy unless the areas where the damaged paint was can be screeded slightly then painted??

      You can fill that with either filler or white cement after the dampseal

    I have exactly this problem and wasn't sure what product to use - will try this dampseal. If the plaster is coming off in a powdery way around the peeling paint will dampseal still be ok though? or should I do something else?

    Truthfully the paint doesn't get rid of it open your windows twice a day. Is the only way and the roof and gutters need repairing and window vents need to be opened at all times..

    I have some deep holes left after scraping. Do I fill the holes before applying Dampseal, or afterwards?

      Plaster the walls after scrapping , add damp seal first coat and second coat , interior and exterior

      No. It's no use talking moisture in the wall. You need to fix the cause.

    Doesn't work and creates problems by trapping the moisture in the wall. Looks ok initially but then blows and causes damage to both sides of the wall.

      In that case i would advice you to apply it both outside and inside the house

      @@dachreport remove any contaminated plaster back to bare brick. Use a hygroscopic salt neutraliser, allow the brickwork to dry out and re plaster it.

    My exterior wall is very close to other wall. We are facing the Leakage problem in the exterior wall. Due to this issue interior wall got damaged like damp wall with moulds. Can we lay tiles without arresting the exterior wall leakage..(During rainy season we are getting this issue) Please advice me..Can we lay tiles interior without arresting the issue exterior

    My.pronl is that it seems builders did not use enough plastic which supposed to be a barrier between foundation and the actual wall itself,not after rain season water sipp through foundation and damage the plaster below as one can not demolish whole building, will dump plaster work in the case like this? I will be waiting for anyone with solution, thanks.

    Used it...damp is back as soon as the rainy weather started again. I am in a annex room at the side of a building basically a cardboard box. Rest of house is perfect. I am now moving out.

      Try getting dryzone damp proofing cream make sure you have a selicone gun you can actually get it from safeguard chemicals or Aquaguard waterproofing.

    Could only painting inside fixes it? I am living in a high-rise building that seeps rain water to inside. There is no way I can do sth to outside wall, I need to fix it inside.

    Any product from outside only no use the best solution for rising damp is damp injection cream or damp stick.

    This is a senseless solution. You first need to get rid of the moisture in the walls. Then only can you waterproof the walls.

    Dampseal does not work. I tried this, bought from Wilko.
    Dryrods patent rods work. Drill holes above damp + insert patent rods. No chemicals no mess.

      I don't think dryrods are as widely available in South Africa as they are there in the UK buddy. I just checked the internet, and the most cost effective price is R9k...which is hopelessly to pricey. For that amount, one might as well get a professional
