- Chad and I head into the Kaimanawas for the first time in a couple of years, to try catch up with some Sika stags in the tail end of the roar. Had an epic trip and a few cool encounters!

Thanks for watching John!
Good shit Rhys, the footage of the deer was almost as amazing as the patience not to shoot! Well done great effort again bro 👍
I wasn't too keen on carrying 2 deer out of there unless the next one was a big stag... They're lucky I'd got my meat the day before though! Cheers Greg 👍
Great watch guys! Love stalking those little sneakers 👍
Cheers mate! Awesome wee animals alright aye, gotta love it 👍
Sweet video mate. Awesome film of those deer, cool as to see all 3 of them in the one shot. cheers
Cheers mate, was definitely a cool experience to have them hanging around for so long!
Excellent video. Your best yet. Keep it up
Thanks!! Hopefully better still to come 👍
Great vid.Havent been back there since 2005.That walk keeps a few out.Look after that mercator.just lost my one that I'd had for 27yrs.
Yeah it's a bit of a grunt in and out alright! The knife is actually a cheap knock off one but it's still a bloody good knife and has served me well for a couple of years 👍 Cheers for watching mate!
Mean trip bro awesome footage of those deer in the bush, few good feeds too 👍
Cheers bro, as you know ya can't beat a decent hearty feed in the bush!
@@mad_fisho bloody oaf it's worth the wait man,im keen as to go after a another Sika now winter bush hunt would be epic
Yeah man same here, I'm hoping to get in there a couple times over winter. Primo spot for some winter stalking, maybe stumble across a stag!
You know you doing alright when you have to shoo the deer away...great video.
Makes a nice change from spooking them and barely getting a glimpse! Cheers Jason!
Mmmm Sika hart
is the best hart.
Damn wild cats.
"You'll be back"
Good vid 👍
Cheers mate! Can't beat it aye... I'll be back for sure 👍
Thanks for a great video. What Calibre firearms are you guys using? Bullet weight?? Cheers
Cheers mate, thanks for watching! We're both using 270s here. I've since changed calibers. I was using a Hornady 130gr SST, I think Chad was mainly using Federal 130gr soft point
@@mad_fisho What are you using now? I'm happy with my 7mm08 using 139/140gr
Good stuff mate, I was always happy with my 270! I just listed it for sale today actually. I've now got a 284. Only because it's a nice short cut down bushpig, love it so far
@@mad_fisho Cool - Happy Hunting :)
Thanks mate, same to you! 👍
Top vid bro. What are the radios you guys were using ?
Cheers mate! They're the garmin rino 650, GPS and radio combo. There's a new model 750 out now though 👍
nice mate, fuckin cats eh! i love it up there
Bastards alright, was quite determined to sort it out if we seen it again! Great area for sure, I'd like to spend more time in there 👍
‘I love hunting aye!’ Haha.
Haha hard not to like hunting when you're eating feeds like that 😅
Some nice footage You would have been rapt.
Cheers Tim, I sure was mate! Pretty cool experience 👍
Your kayak still for sale I seen on the forum??
Nah sorry mate, long gone.
Beware foul language and hunting scenes....hit like straight away, you know what's good!
Gotta give any snowflakes a heads up from the start!
@@mad_fisho Hahaha fair enough. Nice country, I think this might be up further from where I walk in up a well known river....CNI
Yeah most likely is the same river mate, plenty of people walk up it from the other entry point! It's an awesome spot
