- Luminar Mold Mix 6 is a refractory molding compound designed to allow replication of designs in glass. It is a paste, which is applied carefully to suitably prepared patterns and hardens upon drying. Properly prepared molds of Mold Mix 6 will resolve the finest details.
Mold Mix 6 is composed of high strength alumina fibers and alumina powders. I will walk you through how to achieve a beautiful mold with fine detail.

Why do both kiln wash and boron nitride? I though it was one or the other?
Hi Michelle, in Leslie's personal practice with MM6 she prefers to use both kiln wash and boron nitride. You can use just one separating agent but this is the method Leslie has found the most success with

The food coloring helps you to see where you are painting on the layers so each layer is an even coat

What kind of wax should be used?
In this video micro-crystalline or sculptors wax is used as the positive for the mold.
Probably should consider protecting your feet too.
