Street Light: The Documentary follows KRS-One across the Atlantic Ocean and into parts of England where in between some amazing live freestyles, KRS-One points our attention not only to Hip Hop on deeper, more philosophical levels, but also to words and their effects upon what we perceive as reality. The combination of these subjects “Hip Hop”, “words” and “reality”, inspires the viewer the think more deeply about one’s self and about one’s commitment to one’s future; to be more of a friend to one’s future self by taking better care of one’s present self.

2 yrs younger, from Southern Cali, but still on that real boom bap from back in the day. So much so, that I got HIP HOP tattooed on my arm in graff letters with images of an Adidas sneaker with fat laces, spray paint and soon gonna put a character with an old skool sweat suit on, holding a mic.

Saw KRS in Santa Barbara in 2004 on front of about 300 fans, then again in Ventura several years later in front of a similar crowd(both were small venues to begin with). KRS treated these shows like a 20,000 seat arena. He didn't do any less of a show, shorten it, or say fuck it, a few hundred people ain't worth it. No, he rocked them shows. He was signing posters while performing, he was dope! A true showman!
I actually PREFER the smaller, more intimate, concerts… in some dirty little club somewhere… that's how Hip Hop started and we should never lose that essence of it… the small, DEDICATED crowd.
