INSANE SuperQuad on the LIMIT 🤯 GSX-R1000 Power

- Conquering an impressive 3rd Place Overall on Leadfoot Festival 2020, we had the crazy BRM 1000 Superquad LT500R/GSXR1000 of Ian Ffitch, driven once again in a way that can pretty much be only summed up as "lunatic". Against a whole host of 500+Hp Turbocharged 4wd Monsters and spaceframed Race Cars, this unique quad fitted with Active Aero was capable of not only keeping up, but also beating most of them.
As far as the machine is concerned it is originally an early 90’s Suzuki LT500R 2 stroke quad, until it saw its engine swapped in 2002 for a GSX-R1000 power unit. Original frame was extensively modified to accomodate the larger engine and only around 20% of the frame is original. In fact only around 10% of the whole original build is left by now. Engine´s putting out around 140 Rear Wheel H, and was sorted by Auckland’s BRM Dyno tune while the rest was built by 2 Way Industries’ owner Jason Way in Auckland. Suspension is custom-built by PEP suspension, in order to handle the extra weight and power. Curious (and quite terrifying...) stat is that the BRM1000 has a Top Speed of more than 230Km/h...
Apart from all the Technical "mumbo-jumbo", it is Mr. Ffitch´s driving style that stands out, all exacerbated even further by the quite dramatic Aero Package, featuring a movable Front Wing, built to enhace braking capabilities while at the same time not introducing too much drag on the straights. All in all, it is one of those machines that really needs to be seen to have some idea of the madness behind it....
Fair play to that rider. Takes some serious muscle to wrestle that thing round.

When your really good at riding, it doesn't require as much strength as it looks like it does. A highly skilled rider is always one step ahead of the machine, plus the required muscles are conditioned to it. Meanwhile an average rider will be using more effort while also being slower

Yep 👍🏻 it sure is, hammer down dude 😄 it’s also a good family bike that everyone can ride too , nice and sturdy or whatever…🤔 but make sure when you do get yours that you also 🤭 put a couple of Turbo’s on yours first and maybe a nice little hit of NOS as well just for a bit of extra “pepper” for when you really nail the gas before you even ride it for the first time though, that would really make it a lot easier to handle ! Make damn sure that the camera is recording too! 😄sharing crazy or hilarious footage with new friends is just a nice thing to do, we all wanna see! Who knows maybe you’ll even make Nitro Circus , Travis tends to love that sort of thing ! 🤣.

Im 38 and have owned 2 Banshees for many years, have owned a nice '85 Honda 350X, and multiple MX bikes over the years and know my way around a race bike like it's chewing gum but this dude in on another dimension of consciousness, lol..if its physically possible for that 4whlr on that racetrack to shave even a few milliseconds off the laptime I'd be surprised, cause dude is as close to the edge as you get

You're absolutely right! My boss has a 700cc Suzuki agricultural quad that'll do 70mph easily but even in a straight line it's an absolute handful, can't begin to imagine trying to throw one around like the guy in video, much respect.

A big reason for steering like that is the solid rear axle. You can even hear the inside tire chirping in the corners.

Yes it does. I have not gone that fast but i have done similar things and one of the best is drifting a quad on icy roads.

Before you or someone else chimes in, growing up we (my family, friends, classmates, and any other gamer I spoke to) never referred to it as a PSX. We either called it a PlayStation, or PS1 (depending on which of the two consoles you had).
The PSX was a completely separate Sony Console. Marketed by Sony, not Sony Computer Entertainment. The PSX was a digital video recorder, with the PS2 built within it, but was not branded a “PlayStation”. It only sold for 2~ years and was only released in Japan.

@@SoulTouchMusic93a 250 2 stroke or a crotch rocket of almost any size, not to mention the Suzuki GSXR will pull you off the back if your not 100% focused on the task at hand and 100% ready to point it and drop the hammer. Nothing I've experienced in life comes close to the acceleration. I have yet to ride in a fighter jet and I bet money that is about the only thing that could Trump the g force during acceleration. Side note: I'm short as fuck, so I'd start the Kawasaki 250 2 stroke out leaned on a log and not touch the ground again until I came back to the log. LOL. It was my brother's bike. I had a 125. It was night and day different kind of animal. Later years I rode a crotch rocket and was like, where you been my whole life?

They must have a special holster drilled into the seat for his massive balls and I assume they probably have airbag protection too because there is no way in hell ask someone that has been riding quads and dirt bikes my entire life would I be able to do something like that people don't realize how hard it is to do what he is doing especially on a four-wheeler I mean he literally has to oversteer the quad just to get the bike to turn in the direction that he wants it to go while leaning in the direction he is turning so he doesn't high side the four-wheeler and flip over and riding on dirt and concrete especially with slicks and on a smooth pavement is way different than riding on dirt where it's easy to burn out and slide and drift and all that kind of stuff try doing what this guy's doing at 50 plus miles an hour with slicks on a nice flat surface and see how well it works for you. And just one more thing to prove my point if you listen to the tires and the skidding when he drifts around the corners you can literally hear the tires bouncing losing traction because there's so much grip from the slicks and the pavement that it's making the four-wheeler bounce off the ground just a tad bit and if one of the around one of those corners one of those tires catch too much he's most definitely going to high side that four-wheeler and it's not going to feel good for him and most definitely going to destroy some parts of that bike

How can a decked out engine like that only put out 143hp? Is it supposed to say 243hp? A stock 1000 will push around 90hp. Slap a turbo on it and it will rival that. Take an engine out of a Yamaha 4 stroke snowmobile and slap it in that n already you're looking at over 150hp stock and can get boosted to over 370hp years with mods. But then again it would be impossible to control on a quad
