Marketing is a double edged sword, i suppose, but imo a "wizard with a gun" theme-d survival game fits the "dont stave" style way more than a "red dead redemption" style, not even mentioning how impossibly hard making a game like that would be, and not by an indie studio
@@miniclip1162 What you say has nothing to do with what the OP is saying. I agree with you that using cutscene or animation to make my purchasing decision is asking to get disappointed. The idea of a Gun Mage has existed for some time, but has rarely if ever been expanded or explored in media. Normally if a magic user does use a weapon, it's usually a close combat type like a sword or staff. To see a game where the magic users actually focus on firearms is interesting. I'll probably get it for the premise alone but I'm not super on board with the gameplay. Aiming looks uncomfortable, objects are just placed arbitrarily on the floor and there's no terrain to speak of.
I was thinking the same thing. Honestly it makes sense despite feeling unlikely. In ETG you only play as characters with no clue how magic works. You use guns made from the gungeon, a magical bullet afaik (not super lore competent with ETG sorry) These wizards MAKE the magical guns themselves. They know how this all works. This immediately felt to me like a prequel for reasons I cannot fathom. The lyrics speak of a gift to thee and a mission. I can already imagine the character growth that led them to how they fight in the trailer. The swamp wizard slowly learning to use two guns, using one shot to blind and distract the opponent while his signature hyper-powerful attack is going towards them The tundra wizard learning how to deal with the recoil and having to improvise when faced with multiple opponents that can avoid his big, high reload attack The desert wizard talking with secondary characters all over the series and gathering tricks and traps to use and combine during battles to become as tricky to fight as Joseph Joestar from JoJo’s
I love whenever magic is used as an extension of already existing things like wild animals evolving magic abilities or in this case guns improved with magic
