YOU were the reason i survived the normal Alexander raids in december. now YOU will be the reason i survive savage! Thanks to you what once seemed impossible and terrifying became something FUN and enjoyable!!! despite my friends trying to reassure me i was still really unsure about doing raids :( but then i stumbled upon your channel and had the confidence to do so!
0 details on how to deal with the hardest part of the fight: Double gunnery, double prey, cleave, buster. What I've found best, assuming no dps were floating really low before/after gunnery pod and weren't hit by stupid shit, as a SCH, indominability, succor for the gunnery pods. pre-adlo prey target, heal tank, physick prey target, re-adlo prey target, focus tank 2 cure 2's will leave your prey target alive (assuming you buffered the cast). a buffered cure1 and a cure2 might even do it.
***** I'm preeeeeetty sure its a tank+healer mechanic. Not a 'tank only mechanic', or a 'healer only mechanic'... Giving as, you know, healers kinda need to get up mitigation on the tanks too.... +, make sure they are healed up before auto hits...
Lonzell Gregg Our tanks use hallowed ground, holmgang, living dead, etc for the actual hit. Then we heal them to full obviously after. We healers have nothing to do with the actual mechanic, other than getting them to full prior to jump.
First clear today with my FC as an Ast. Got them kill with little to no dps needed from healers. Yes, I know we should've dps but we both never found comfortable times to. So shoutout to my dps for doing more than enough damage for us.
Beat it yesterday! It really isn't that hard to be honest. Then again I'm a DPS, and this fight is quite the bitch for Healers. Very happy that Savage guides are coming now.
The mechanics really aren't that difficult its the checks at this time but as people become more geared with alex/esotaric gear the content will be easier to go through. At this time though, extremely competent dps, healers, and tanks are needed to beat it.My group is currently progressing through a3 as I assume yours is as well with 4 groups worldwide having beat it. The difficulty level so far in my opinion is 2, 1, 3, then I can only assume 4. I honestly wouldn't compare this to coil savage. Doing coil savage at the ilvl when it first came out was far more difficult. I'm not to sure why they called this the savage though. But, I'm sure they will release more difficult savages later on for Alexander. Too easy? Many groups I see losing players cause they're unable to handle the heal or dps checks. Great guides as usual! Its neat to see how different groups do things in different ways through progression ^_^
QuantumGamer (iGD27) I believe they said this was at the difficulty of normal coils, not savage, as for why they call it savage? Because i think there were plenty of complaints of people that couldn't do coil because they either had no static or were just bad and they wanted to do it for the story, so they gave normal alex for the story and savage for the increased difficulty.
What accessories are the warriors using? Ours is using slayer gear instead of fending and keeps eating about 25k damage when their max HP is 16k but apparently a lot of groups clearing this are having their tanks wear slayer gear.
Pizza Pie just to clarify this 25k hitting the war is a tank buster. We would probably have cleared already if not for this repeated mistake but at least we are getting practice
Pizza Pie He is eating 25k because he isn't popping cooldowns. IB+Vengeance+Shields from SCH will reduce the hit from 25-28k to a much more manageable 7-12k hit
Gadreel Voross you have to survive it 3 times so do Rampart+Sentinel, Hallowed Ground, and Rampart + Sentinel again, try stoneskin with Ramaprt + Sentinel if you get hit too hard.
Did you notice if today after the maintenance timings in the battle seemed a little different? As a summoner I could throw a couple less spells in my rotation before the first adds arrive. Or is it just instance lag as it's a reset day?
Great video. Thank you for the information. Im your opinion what is the best time to start the Savage. I just finished normal today and im a DRK ilvl 176. I still need to unlock Savage, but i would like a idea of a nice ilvl to go in as.
Blue Wolf D. Guinguin It could probably be done at a lower average, but it's easy to get i190 average now with Alexander Normal and the AF2 gear being available. Might as well stack the deck in your favor, right?
***** With all the fights that has that mechanic leading up to this... INCLUDING tiamat, which you HAVE to fight to even get to this point.... and you can't tell lol? Next you'll be saying, 'please tell people why to not stand in the glowing aoe circles'.
***** If you watch where the glowing circles are you should notice that they don't spawn in a symmetrical pattern. The safe spot is the corner directly opposite from the circle that spawns closest to the center of the group. The further away you get from both circles the less damage you take.
Quick question for you Mizz, are tanks targetted with the resin puddles or is it only healers/DPS. If tanks are targetted how should the puddles be baited so the tank isn't stuck in the puddle?
Tanks definitely get targeted. Before the split, our group stacks on the left flank to bait the puddle there. After the split, I bait the puddle just to the rear right or left of me, depending on laser position, so I have as much uptime on the boss as possible.
Rolan Blackmoon Just get exactly into the middle of the boss for the puddle, that way it's not in the way of melee's doing damage or the tank getting stuck in it and additionaly you can continue dpsing in that time. Melees can just stack inside the boss to for that.
I am a WHM I lvl 190 and I have troubles keeping MP up during the first phase as I am usually expected to solo heal. Any ideas or tips that would help?
Jan Mack i know thats why im saying only eso gear gets you 210 aside from AS, which sucks since once eso gear becomes the standar currency and no void ark weekly cap there will be no reason to do AS for gear.
+thecomingofchrisit0 Why? Normal is extremely easy, and can be done with ease even in a pub group. You learn all the mechanics in normal mode after running it literally 1-2 times.
+thecomingofchrisit0 Anything that's normal mode you should be able to go into blind. Always simple and limited mechanics. But I do understand you point of view.
+thecomingofchrisit0 It takes 2sec to look it up. Damn you kids are lazy and needy as fk. She's doing a service with these guides, if you don't like it go elsewhere.
+SuperDuperKid the point is, if you want to do this service to the community. do it good, or dont do it at all. in Mr happy's case. he waited multiple weeks to post his guides to get multiple angles. yes you had to wait longer, but the people who really go off those guides had better info then this
shouldn't of made people watch 2 guide videos regardless. I understand you not wanting to go over everything again but I felt like it would of been the better choice for sure.

Just got back into FF14 after not playing for over a year. Your guides are also a welcome return to see and help me with tanking =)

As always, a brilliant and clear analysis of the fights.
+dominichokage clear analysis? this video was rushed. no info a double gun pods, double preys,.... might aswell take it down
+salex075 no link to the normal battle either
Love your videos! I will probably never get through savage but will still watch every one.
went in to A1S the first time today as a WHM and have never felt more like a scrub.... Im coming for you tomorrow mister 27k tank buster.
***** could suggest that he couldnt heal through the tank buster.
^ miguel almeida could suggest that he doesn't understand the mechanics, but hopefully does now
***** ***** regardless, its not ONLY one role mechanic. i think you're missing the point.
***** I'm preeeeeetty sure its a tank+healer mechanic. Not a 'tank only mechanic', or a 'healer only mechanic'... Giving as, you know, healers kinda need to get up mitigation on the tanks too.... +, make sure they are healed up before auto hits...

i just finished Alex 1-4 with the help of ur guides, thx allot, time to get started on this D;
But where is Hugh Jass
great guide and well done, very much appreciate keeping it short and sweet ^.^
Hooray, I'm about to start light farming this, several years later :P
Been in game since launch but im slow for PvE content due to PvP Content :)
Love the guide. very clear and easy to catch. And ofcorst the voice acting ;)
Beat it yesterday! It really isn't that hard to be honest. Then again I'm a DPS, and this fight is quite the bitch for Healers.
Very happy that Savage guides are coming now.
***** Can confirm, went in there only once as a healer, did NOT feel ready. Hoping it's something I can do with full alex gear and eso weapon.
A Savage Guide! Neat!

So savage!
Ily!!!!
It's so hard to heal but it's good to see where you've placed the bosses as I think AOEhealing will be better with where you've put them
I've heard that you need to have the Oppressor at about 60% before he splits in order to meet enrage. Is this true?
What accessories are the warriors using? Ours is using slayer gear instead of fending and keeps eating about 25k damage when their max HP is 16k but apparently a lot of groups clearing this are having their tanks wear slayer gear.

Here paladin, have another physical mitigation cooldown.
Magical damage tankbuster...thanks Square.
Gadreel Voross you have to survive it 3 times so do Rampart+Sentinel, Hallowed Ground, and Rampart + Sentinel again, try stoneskin with Ramaprt + Sentinel if you get hit too hard.

Blue Wolf D. Guinguin i190
Okay thanks ^^
Blue Wolf D. Guinguin It could probably be done at a lower average, but it's easy to get i190 average now with Alexander Normal and the AF2 gear being available. Might as well stack the deck in your favor, right?
Yeah true plus with better gear less stress on healers to keep me alive
Blue Wolf D. Guinguin I'm at 175 on BLM, but I probably won't be doing AS any time soon, not without a good static anyway.
Sooo... gonna explain how you know where the safe zones are for the jump or nah? Guess, nah...
***** With all the fights that has that mechanic leading up to this... INCLUDING tiamat, which you HAVE to fight to even get to this point.... and you can't tell lol? Next you'll be saying, 'please tell people why to not stand in the glowing aoe circles'.
Lonzell Gregg no, I'm dumb.
***** If you watch where the glowing circles are you should notice that they don't spawn in a symmetrical pattern. The safe spot is the corner directly opposite from the circle that spawns closest to the center of the group. The further away you get from both circles the less damage you take.
+Lonzell Gregg ...We haven't fought Tiamat as a boss yet. If ever.
+Zythrone Tiamat was the boss of Sohm Al. Level 53 dungeon. Not sure if you're serious.
Hey Misteeq thx for the video. May i know what client was used for this capture? I the quality is remarkable and I can't get that quality with OBS
I no longer want to do savage content....
normal is fine for me plus I get to enjoy the music w/o stressing about my buff windows and boss mechanics
Quick question for you Mizz, are tanks targetted with the resin puddles or is it only healers/DPS. If tanks are targetted how should the puddles be baited so the tank isn't stuck in the puddle?

But like who’s watching this right now because all the other comments are 6yo XD
So how much of this is skipped with light girding now?
what i lvl is the best? my summoner is ilvl 186 and crit is 780 ,magic 960 is that okay?
Anyone know what the name of the song is?
Think I skip this. There are other ways to get i210 gear.
+Jan Mack like? so far i only know of eso gear getting u 210
eso gear is i200, and you have to upgrade it to i210 with the item you drop in Void Ark once a week.
Jan Mack i know thats why im saying only eso gear gets you 210 aside from AS, which sucks since once eso gear becomes the standar currency and no void ark weekly cap there will be no reason to do AS for gear.
lets better wait for the next datadisc with i300 gear :)
where is faust guide pls ;o
Ikr!!
i wish u would have a link to the normal
+thecomingofchrisit0 Why? Normal is extremely easy, and can be done with ease even in a pub group. You learn all the mechanics in normal mode after running it literally 1-2 times.
Jardio i posted this when i couldn't find a guide for normal since it was my first time, didn't want to go in blind.
+thecomingofchrisit0 Anything that's normal mode you should be able to go into blind. Always simple and limited mechanics. But I do understand you point of view.
rushed guide 0 details on Double gun prey cleave buster. and how to figur eout safe zones for jump
+Frank Mcmanus i agree, if you want a better guide, you might wanna check out xenos. it is alot better then this, but another tank pov
+Frank Mcmanus no link to the normal battle
+thecomingofchrisit0 It takes 2sec to look it up. Damn you kids are lazy and needy as fk. She's doing a service with these guides, if you don't like it go elsewhere.
SuperDuperKid well someone that does guides does them all your comment makes no sense mr happy does them all
+SuperDuperKid the point is, if you want to do this service to the community. do it good, or dont do it at all. in Mr happy's case. he waited multiple weeks to post his guides to get multiple angles. yes you had to wait longer, but the people who really go off those guides had better info then this

You madam are awesome
