Interesting take on the Boss's and today more relevant with the Hydra heads too. The explanation on the types of damage they can give and take, support aspects to consider. This all helps players as they are trying to break down which hero to use and how to determine what they want to commit to invest in building. Thanks Charlie. LOL, I could almost see a table of contents with links to your videos or specific blog posts as we open up your webpage.
Hey, wanted to comment on a few of these. I'm at 150 on Brog, 145 on Ilyssa, 140 Vadjar. And I have some suggestions, not that Pets are in the game. I'll go in the same order as your video: Ilyssa: Jhu doesn't become less effective with levels, he becomes less effective as the boss' health decreases. His "I will take your life" ability is based on remaining health. So it does massive damage early on, but less and less as Ilyssa's health falls. Still, you're probably not going to have anyone do as much direct damage to the boss. I personally prefer Krista to Ginger, simply because she has done more fore me in campaign, arena, etc. So my Krista is far more powerful. But neither are bad options. Pet Advice: Albus. Patron to Jhu if possible. Albus boosts pure damage, and Jhu's extra damage from IWTYL is pure damage. Albus also had the strongest single target attack of all the pets, and it gets stronger if you do pure damage while it charges. Vadjar: My K'arkh is near max. Full skins, 3 max glyphs, all artifacts at max, red+2 with all items. I feel you on the K'arkh love. I wouldn't say he's useless, but he's not ideal. That maximum artifact still boosts the whole team, and feeds back into him when Nebula boosts his attack further. Also, K'arkh's shield can block the big melee attacks. But yes, you gain no direct damage from his lift. I don't have anyone else with that perfect 1st artifact, though, so he stays in. Rufus is indeed great here. He gives you another +armor artifact buff, and his shields can completely negate the fire rain, or meteor storm, or whatever it is called. My only hesitation here is that Rufus isn't the greatest tank outside of this situation. He has some use in Adventures, against the corrupted Orion boss, but he's not ideal elsewhere. Qing Mao can interrupt Vadjar's dual sword attack. If you get the timing right and use her first skill, and it hits V while he is in the process of raising his swords, you will completely negate that use of the ability. V follows a very strict pattern (swords, stomp, swords, stomp, fire rain, stomp, repeat) so you can pretty easily predict when the next sword slam is coming. Big issue here is V's armor. My K'arkh has just under 39,400 armor pen, and still only does a quarter of his damage with Vadjar at level 140. This is one reason QM is great here. She has a couple abilities that do pure damage. Ziri is another option, with her damage reflect ability. Pets: You have the most options here. Fenris can blind, which lets your heroes do bonus damage. He also adds a good amount of armor pen, though even that is ineffective at higher levels. Albus is good here once again, with his pure damage and good synergy with QM. Oliver can help, as he blocks some damage and provides some healing. But probably not enough to make a difference. Cain can be an interesting choice. I'm in theory territory here, as my Cain is still not high enough for patronage, but if you can get QM to dodge more, and get the bonus energy, you can prevent more of the sword slams, thus preventing more damage, giving your team more time to heal, etc. Could be a viable option. Brog: Orion+Dorian+Mojo is my holy trinity here. Mojo's hex works when he is dead. Dorian's Initiation works, even when he is dead. So you don't even have to invest in those two. Just enough to get them max level, and their 4th skill at max. Key is to time Orion's 1st skill so the missiles land after he takes damage from Brog's charge. You need to completely heal from the first charge, so you can survive the return charge and the first hit after that. Then, you can fire off Total Destruction a few more times, save one for the charge (Happens at 1:30, 1:00, and :30 seconds remaining) and keep going. Two problems are positioning, and the randomness of where Orion is thrown on the charge. To help with positioning, put two throwaway characters behind Dorian. There aren't many who line up behind him. I think I was using Thea and Peppy. They don't matter, they're just putting Dorian's corpse in a convenient spot. If Orion gets thrown too far away by the charge... just try again. Pets: Merlin to boost magic damage, Albus for direct damage. Possibly Oliver for some healing support, but you should be getting all the healing you need from Dorian. This one is the easiest to build for, since you really only need to invest in Orion. I find that other heroes just can't survive the charge+charge+stomp combo. Final note: All of this is for the FB/Web version. Some of it may work on mobile as well, but I never reached high levels on mobile. And I wouldn't say these are the only ways to do them, simply things that have worked for me at a pretty high level.
Thanks for the update. I appreciate this, since you are right about Outlands. The battles are much more narrowly focused, and skills will attack the correct target. Outlands seems to be much more stable over the months, whereas server META can change in an instant with the introduction of a new hero. The stablity makes the advice longer lasting. I think that farming Mojo stones helps FTP players, too, since it burns energy faster, which converts to hero experience points faster. Thanks.
illysa: Jhu tanks. His undying skill will keep him up. Ginger, Corn, Artemis for damage and clearing spiders. Martha for heals and speed. As of last testing, Jhu makes the fight trivial up to lvl 115 vadhar: Rufus or Cleaver,Galahad, Karkh, Qing, Nebula. As of last testing, works til lvl 115 Brog: Maya/Orion,Faceless,Thea. You can swap Asta in at higher levels. Helios is good at lower levels. Phobos can work also. Works up to level 120 so far.
Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback. Sometimes it's hard to lose sight of the fact that I'm one of the only English speaking content creators and that comes with a lot of responsibility.
Well, I can see this was a hastily made video, but I must say, well done, it's very good even if it's hastily made. The way you presented things is how I hoped to see them, and I liked how you said at the end that you can play the game in multiple different ways. Keep up the good work
I might do that, and the pet I would recommend for the outland battles is Albus, the reason is that he can cause a lot of damage with his Breath of the Ancients attack. It works for me.
Astrid and Lucas avoids his most deadly attach since she is so far away in the very back. Using her and Rufus, combo will allow her to attack and not receive any damage as long as Rufus' shield is up.
For Ilyssa, any suggestions on a replacement for Jhu? I still don't have him but am on Ilyssa level 80. I currently use Martha, Cornelius, Ginger and am working on leveling Fox. Otherwise I use whoever in the 5th spot because they always die on the first hit anyway.
I would still recommend getting Jhu if you can, he becomes essential together with Cornelius at higher level fights, reason for that being Ilyssa's Armor becomes far too OP for most damage dealers to do any meaningful damage, and so you have to rely on Jhu to drain Ilyssa's HP through his second skill and Cornelius to land a finishing blow with his ultimate ability (thankfully Cornelius' damage is very consistent at Ilyssa, because no matter how much her armor goes up beyond a certain limit, it won't reduce Cornelius' damage as much anymore, and his damage is also supported by Ilyssa's increase in her intelligence stat). For the lower level fights, you can get away with using whatever you want to quite honestly. Dante will help out a lot with tanking due to dodge being particularly broken against minispiders and with his invincibility shield.
@@thebackwardsguy5927 It is a good team. The combination of Astaroth/Celeste/Martha is actually a REALLY strong team. Orion and Celeste play well together, and Nebula is in the middle. In auto, it'll be less effective as you're relying on Celeste as a 2nd damage dealer and she toggles back and forth. On manual this is a great team.
max upgrade ishmael dies within 15 seconds at high levels because his vamp dont work due to vadjars high armor. He dont live long enough to catch qing mao first art buff.
@@AntonLitvin I see, so the way high level outland fights work is that you have to keep spamming Armor buffs whenever Vadjar AoE slams to avoid Qing Mao from dying, quite luck-based boss fights. I wonder if Andvari would be any good at level 150+ Outland fights with his high HP, Armor Penetration stat, Armor boosting first artifact and the ability to use damage absorbtion shield on the lowest Armor ally.

Great video. Dude you just made my day with your logic coming to the conclusion that Mojo is a him and not a her by him not wearing a shirt
I mean, it's possible that it's a girl. #freethenipple
In French, they refere to Mojo as a him + if you go to the artifacts part, you'll see clearly in the picture that Mojo is a guy.
