This song of mine is a tribute to the life of the great High Chief or Ariki of Te Au O Tonga the late Matanoanoa Makea Nui Ariki KBE for being one of the most prominent woman in Cook Islands History, e " Vaine Toa". She was the longest reining Makea and the first lady to be represented in the Cook Islands Colonial Government prior to the Cook Islands becoming self governing in 1965. This was my composition that won the Composers competition in Rarotonga in 2008 and sung by my long time friend Andre Tapena .
We have just returned from the cook Islands where Andre sang in the local church in Rarotonga and he takes your breath away. And, we love your Island!
