This would run down as one of the best SB performance in sinulog history. At par with Placereño 2016 and Sinanduloy 2011. Kudos to Katherine Estenzo for always coming up with fresh take and unique concept every year.

This is like the best 5 minutes Ive ever spent online this year! This is awesome! Yung ganitong level ng cultural presentation sa SEA Games 2019. Bravo Carcar City, Pit Senyor!
Best 5 minutes multiplied a lot of times in my case. And still giving me the goosebumps till now.
This proves that even though the routine and choreography are not fast paced, you can still wow the audience with your simple dance. Hangtod karon nanlimbawt gihapon akong balhibo.

This is the best, may istorya, di puro changes of colors ng placards. Puro talon at hiyaw. Bakit di ito nag aliwan?
Nakaka kilabot! Napaka linaw ng mensahe. Kahit di ko pa napapanod ang iba, hindi na ako nagtataka kung bakit sila ang nanguna sa patimpalak. Napaka husay!

-tsaka yung sa Carcar, very realistic... May nakikita ba kayong lalaki na nagsasayaw ng Sinulog sa Basilica? Humahawak ng kandila?
-Carcar veered away from this norm; for so many years, yung mga choreographer hindi na bumitaw sa kandila.

The entire performance of Carcar City Division truly shows what a CHAMPION should be and what the other contingents should learn. Clear concept from start to finish, perfect execution, clean transitions of steps, the musicality is just WOW (they used their choir in some important parts of the ritual only), the color of the backdrops did not overpower the color of Carcar’s costume (which is good so that the focus will be on the dancers) and they showed the traditional Sinulog dance. Congratulations Carcar!

That track that starts @ 5:01 gave me goosebumps. I had to listen to it twice. I have heard that when I was a child at age 8 or 9 when I lived in Talamban then shortly left for the US, i'm 38 now going back to see and realize Sinulog 2020. Can't believe it's still being played Oh my goodness. It really resonated in my soul. It gave me chills!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, 2019 was an amazing year for sinulog. Both the free interpretation and sinulog based category winners were spectacular in their own rights. I love the free interpretation for the fast beat and props. The fact that all moving parts are done by people manually is nothing to look down upon. Sinulog based on the other hand focuses more on the story and choreography. The cleanness of the routine. I love those classic sinulog steps.

Yes, I am from carcar and I noticed na sa lahat ng contigents sila talaga ang palaging may pagka mabagal ang steppings nila. Kaya naman nila bilisan kagaya ng sinanduloy or talisay but di nila talaga ginagawa kahit sabi ng mga tao, di masyadong nakakaexcite ang speed. Di sila nag fafast paced and it worked naman to their advantage kasi nananalo sila year after year. At saka, it is one of the things that make them unique among others. Super proud of them for showcasing the real sinulog steps.

i've also been a fan of the lumad basakanon ever since they broke through the FI scene and won years before. i always look forward to their presentation. carcar this year took the cake. i've always despised the overuse of props, but in their presentation this year, carcar balanced both the dance and the use of props very well. very neat and clean use of the props. the colors are well coordinated. nothing clashing between the props and the dancers
Carcar is under Sinulog based while lumad basakanon is under Free Interpretation Category.Im a fan of both contingent.

Just watched the blocking for Dinagyang. Its so good and the steps are very intricate. We will be going to Iloilo on february but I guess Dinagyang will be done by that time.

@@jansenpenol7159 actually I am from carcar and from 2007-2019 simple lang talaga ang sayaw nila sa sinulog. Mabagal pero sabay sabay. Yung ibang sinulog based contingents kasi, may pagka mabilis na yung stepping. Sila lang talaga ang nagmemaintain ng kabagalan ng steps at beat sa lahat ng contingents. And it worked naman to their advantage kasi nananalo naman sila every year.
For a festival like sinulog na dinodominate ng sinanduloy sa sinulog based na may pagka fast paced, carcar is doing a risky job each year. Pero natry naman nilang ma second nung 2016 whike naging 3rd yung sinanduloy so I believe may chance talaga ang Carcar. May laban din.
Hopefully tuloy tuloy na talaga. :) carcars performance this year is a breath of fresh air. And they brought back the original sinulog dance stepsm

Last year, people were saying nakadaog sila kay walay sinanduloy ug placer. This year, if you read sa comment section, puros dayeg jud imong mabasahan. Dili kaayo ka makabasa nga naay word nga "copycat" "sinanduloy". Just praises for carcar. Makaproud.
